Most auto shops and tire places get a bad rep, but I can definitely say, Discount Tire is in a league of its own. I showed up 15 mins after opening with no reservation and two nails in my tires. To my surprise, I was out in under an hour with two patched tires and in my way. The guys were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about what was needed. My tire was leaking air so I brought it to Discount Tire today. I spoke with Victor who came outside to look at my car with me. There was no visible nail that we could see so he was able to get it in to take a look. Sure enough, there was a nail! They replaced the whole tire for me! as we woke up with colder weather in Texas, I stopped by discount tire to get air in all four of my tires, there was not a line, but I waited for the kid to go back inside to warm up, which I totally understand since he was screaming it cold wasted 30 minutes there only to find out that he didn't pump gas in all four of my tires only in 3 tires 20 miles down the road there was another discount tire where I waited an hour and I ended up leaving the line was extremely ridiculous but it's no surprise to me because this discount tire in Lakeway is the worst. So I wasted an hour and a half of my time and didn't even get the service. I want it and pay for it since that's where I purchased my tires. read more

At the beginning of winter a "low tire pressure" fault code popped on in my 2012 Toyota Tundra. Now anyone who's been in Texas for at least 18 months knows this is a common occurrence. You get the fake code that states your tire pressure is low. So you head to Costco, or Discount tires depending on who has the shorter line. A quick inspection indicates that three of my four TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring system) sensors were dead. I replaced one of the units about six months ago. The truck is 12 years old, so the little batteries in side finally gave it up. The fine folks at Discount Tires, threw in a free sensor for the price of four. With my online appointment, my wait time was less than an hour from arrival to departure. There are several things I love about Discount Tires. 1. Flats tires are repaired free. That includes the repair and balance. You don't even have to buy the tire there. 2. Tire warranty packages. You can purchase warranty packages for tires, even if they are your original tires. (I owned a late model BMW with Run Flat tires, that loved nails in Texas. Some Run Flat tires can't be repaired and have to be replaced. At about $300 a tire this was not fun. After my second tire replacement, purchased warranties for all four tires. Never had another flat tire again. ‍ 3. They will price match. You have to bring in "legit, variable" price quotes to take advantage of this option. They will work with you. 4. They stand by their word. I challenged them on a tire warranty. Tires wore out before the claimed mileage quoted. I had the tires rotated, aligned and pressure maintained by Discount. (Alignments at the dealer). They paid me for the difference when I purchased new tires. I can't say enough about this business. But make your plans early as "they get busy". Appointments may take 2-3 days to get a prime time period. But we have at least three stores near me and more on the way. I trust my wheels and tires to Discount tires. They double check their lug nut tension with electronic torque wrench's and drive my car out to the front door for customer pickup. I can't preach enough about this business. My passenger-rear stud was old and damaged, and Brian (manager), Cory, and Anthony all showed a friendly concern and rapidly comp'd me a repair of the stud at Austin Automotive Specialists where an efficient and nice lady named Melissa and her mechanic Kyle got me in and repaired, for no charge. So woke up this morning to a low air pressure light on for my wife's Honda Pilot. Of course the kids had to go to school and the wife needed to get to work. When I noticed my Chevy Blazer seemed to be slipping a little on wet roads, I knew it was time for new tires. Blake Baucom inspected my tires and confirmed it was time to change them. He recommended an excellent tire and was able to get them delivered to his store super fast, considering the shortage of products in so many businesses during this pandemic. I was extremely surprised and pleased to get a call from him to bring my car in the next day. My appointment was a 5 pm and I arrived 10 minutes early. Blake's team ran an extremely smooth operation inside. I was greeted immediately and my car was taken in as soon as I was checked in. I was quoted an hour wait time but I was rolling out in 45 minutes which was awesome! My car drove very smoothly and was more quiet. The true test of the tire came the next day when it rained. The tires felt so "grippy" on the road and I didn't have that apprehension of wondering how my car would perform on the wet roads. It was amazing to have the confidence of tire safety on the road. Here's the deal, they do tires better than anyone else. Need your transmission rebuilt? Go somewhere else. But you have a tire issue/need? These guys own that space. I woke up on a Saturday morning to a flat tire...further inspection showed a screw found its way into the tread. I inflated the tire enough to drive to D.T. 5 minutes away. These guys pulled my truck in, pull the 22" wheel and tire off and had it fixed super fast...but wait, there is more! They did a pressure test on the other tires only to discover a screw in another tire. If you care about your wheels, do not bring your car here. I replaced all 4 tires here and they damaged the hub area--lug nuts and adjacent. It seems that someone was careless when taking off or putting on the wheel. This isn't damage from road debris or there would be more scratches on other parts of the wheel not just at the hub and, unless I'm really unlucky, wouldn't have affected all 4 wheels. The attached pics are just a sample from one wheel but all have similar damage. This was the first tire change on the vehicle so no one's ever worked on them before. read more

cons: -- was misquoted wheel install cost when making appointment. then they would not honor quoted price when arriving. how much hell am i gonna raise over a $40 difference though. well, maybe a little, just to make a point ;) - told over phone when setting appointment that it would take 1 hour. took 2... and they werent particularly busy (respective to other locations). - had custom directional wheels (which i informed them of). they still mounted a wheel on the wrong side. good thing i was watching. - they had no knowledge of any other way to balance wheels other than [sticky] weights. i didnt either, but after a tiny bit of research, turns out there is (balance beads inside tire). glad i refused to have these beauties balanced w/ those ugly metal strips! - for wheels of this cost, wish they would've had their best guys handle the whole process. one of the kids installing the lugs didnt even follow a star pattern tightening [at least] one wheel. ‍ pros: + i had many questions / concerns- all employees adressed were receptive read more

Took my vehicle in to patch a hole in a what appeared to be a flat tire and was told by Discount Tire that could not locate any hole, so replaced valve on tire. Week later driving on 620 and noticed same tire flat again and so took it back into Discount Tire to correct the issue. Told me they would look at in 20 minutes, 65 minutes later told me it would be 2 hours. It took them more than 5 hours to address...since I was in waiting area for such a lengthy time, numerous people had similar experience. Do your self a huge favor and just go across the street to Lambs as they are honest and straight forward vs this crew. read more
