Just bought new tires from the Leander Discount location and the car shakes anytime I went above 55. I managed to make it to pick up my sick kid and went to the location next to his school. They discovered that the tires were not balanced properly when they were installed. Joe graciously took the car and helped correct the situation so I could drive without worrying that something terrible was going to happen on the road. I bought 4 tires on the discount tire website and scheduled installation for the next day, at the 13240 N Hwy 183 location in Austin, Tx. The store has a up front parking space for online purchasers, I used that and noticed they had put my name on a sign for that parking space, expecting my arrival. That got my attention. I went in and got checked in immediately, they put my car in the shop without delay and did the tire installation within 30 minutes. I was out the door, driving home and noticed my tire light was on, at first I thought it would self-correct after driving a little, it did not go off. Went back to store, the tech read the battery level in the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) stem for each tire, found one that was dead. These tires had been on these rims for over 7 years and never removed for any sort of service, so I was not surprised that mounting these new tires might show such an issue. I had the tech replace the battery in that TPMS stem, supposed to cost about $70. After maybe 10 minutes the store manager Jonathan (I think he was the store manager), gave me the key and said they got it done, and this time they re-set the TPMS system so the light is off at the point that I drive off, meaning all is well with the TPMS system, and he said "we are taking care of it, no cost to you". I was very surprised at that level of customer service. I can't say enough good about Discount Tire, especially at this store. I highly recommend them and will continue to do business there. read more

I get great deals from this place. Been a long time customer. Workers are experienced at this location and do a fantastic job at balancing oversized tires. However my common complaint is the wait times. There is an obvious mismanagement of the scheduling app. Whether a walk in or scheduling an appointment, your cooked. Be prepared to wait 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a simple tire balance and rotation. I scheduled my appointment 2 days in advance and I'm now on hour 2 for rotate and balance. Next time I'll plan on an uber or a ride arrangement, and I recommend anyone else does the same. Oh and don't plan on using your lunch break because you will be late getting out of there and back to work. read more

After a long road trip to California from Texas, my boyfriend tried to buy me tires. Instead of calling the store to complain to them about losing money on a invoice, Alex called me and rudely explained that he had called the manager and what my boyfriend was doing was wrong and that I had to figure it out. As a consumer, I would advise that you don't disclose store to store drama to the customer. We are none the wiser on what goes on in the back end of your business. As a manager of a chain restaurant, I advise that what you did was very unprofessional and childish. If you would have taken care of the customer and then complained afterwards to the other store, you wouldnt have a bad review that will now follow you. I have used discount tires and have had great experiences. Thankfully I was able to get my flat fixed and two tires replaced by another Discount Tire location where I was treated like family instead of a burden. read more

I had to replace all my tires this summer and luckily there was a Discount Tire close by (not this location). When I had a flat because a nail I called Discount that was nearest me. They said they could get me in and since I had the "protection" plan or whatever its called there would be no fees. Unfortunately, there is always some sort of catch. When I arrived, the employee came out to check out my tire and then says "lets get you some new windshield wipers for your safety while you are here" I let him know those had just been replaced so no need. He tried to point out his concern, but at that point I knew he was just trying to make an extra sale. While my car was being serviced the tech came in and showed me my lug nuts and said they were "larger" than most cars and if I have a flat I will have trouble getting my tire on and off! Mind you I the past few years I always purchased my tires from Discount and not once did anyone tell me that. I let him know that no one mentioned that prior so it was not necessary. It was very obvious they were trying to up-sale me, which becomes very irritating. It also feeds the stigma that auto shops treat women differently and try to nickel in dime them (in my opinion). My prior visits my dad was with me and I did not have the same experience. The only great thing about this visit is how quickly I was in and out. If you dont have an appointment it can sometime take 2 plus hours to be serviced and I was out in 45 minutes. Customers/Ladies beware of them trying to sell things you may not need. read more

Yesterday a low pressure sensor went off, and I rolled in slowly at 5pm and the tech found a screw in my tire tread. 45 minutes later, my tire was repaired, pressure checked and remounted all at no charge, thanks to the road hazard coverage that came with them. I have been going here for my tires for over 30 years. They always rotate and balance my tires for free. People are professional and helpful. They have a nice waiting area and there is a Starbucks and Coffee Shopa few steps away where I like to go while I wait. Wait times are about an hour or more if they are real busy. Now you can make an appointment. I recommend this route and coming back later for a pickup. I did this recently and was in and out in a few minutes on the drop off and pick up. They will fix you flat for free even if it's not their tire. Recently, I had a flat fixed on a fairly new tire I bought there. It then had a slow leak. Showed up [unknowingly] a couple minutes after closing time curious as to why my tire pressure monitor was lit up and my tire losing air as I came outside after work. A 6pm closing time feels pretty early for us working class people in my opinion. I also haven't had to rely on owning a car for the past 12 years so maybe that's just something that everyone else is already used to...idk Nevertheless I pulled up to the [tire] air check area and no one was standing there so I went to inquire as to whether it was self-service. A gentleman popped over and helped me out and then confirmed that there was actually a nail in my tire. I asked him how much for a patch and he said it be free.99. That's my kind of price! He asked me to pull over and park it and head inside to let the agent know that I'd be receiving a flat fix. The guy seemed rather annoyed and informed me that they were closed. I politely apologized and informed him that his coworker sent me in, so...yeah. I definitely appreciate the first guy, Alex (maybe) for being very kind and very courteous. It helped me to ignore the negative energy from his colleague. In the end they did a pretty good job. The tire was taken care of after about a 30 minute wait. Unfortunately, they did not inflate the tire to the correct pressure. My car has separate pressure requirements for the front and back tires and they set the back tire to the lower pressure of the front so I had to stop at a gas station on the way home to correct this. Nevertheless, I won't complain as I did not expect to receive the service free of charge. Bonus points also for the nostalgia that they reminded me of my little Kia Rio I had back in '07 in NC that I apparently used to take to Discount Tire also. read more
