After doing our due diligence we discovered that Discount Tire had the best price for our 4 tire replacement job. We chose the Leander location as it is about 10 minutes from home. We did everything online from ordering the tires to scheduling the appointment. Unfortunately, they had to order the tires so we had to reschedule, no biggie. Their messaging App notified us when our tires arrived and provided reminders regarding our Install date. On Install day the App provided us with a completion time and kept us updated regarding the Install progress. Our car was ready for pickup right on time! We really appreciated both the professional service and communication throughout the entire process. Easy peasy start to finish! read more

TLDR: At best, communication was lacking and at worst, they thought they could pull one over on me as a woman since I didn't speak at all during the drop off! I had a leak in my tire after getting something lodged in it. My tires were under warranty, so I dropped my car off here with my fiancé, who did all the talking. The specialist let us know that it should be able to be patched up and if not, they can replace the tire since warranty is still valid. My fiancé let him know that if it comes to replacing the tire, we'd like both back tires replaced to keep it even, but to keep us updated. Ultimately, the specialist took my contact down and a couple hours later called me to tell me they couldn't fix it and both tires were replaced and my total would be $265.... There was no quote given, no update regarding their inability to patch the tire, just a hefty bill when all my tires were less than a year old and I had paid to have them covered by warranty. They told me I either had to pay or they had to take one of the tires off and put my old one back on. I told them to just put my original tire back on. Then, at pickup, they said "we actually found a nail in your other tire so they're both replaced and covered under warranty"... I looked at the bill and the cost for EACH tire was only $149 and with extra charges around $160. We were helped immediately, but given a completion time of after their closing time. We left and called around 4:30 to confirm this time. They updated it to 4:45! I want to start by talking about things I love about this place and then bring up something that should be re-evaluated by employees. First, I am massively grateful that if my tire pressure light comes on, I can come here for a quick easy top off of air and make my car happy again. I appreciate that when I put a bolt in my tire and limped my car in 10 minutes after they closed on a Saturday, they still helped me out with the tire repair. Not safe. Spraying pesticide while people are waiting (in the few chairs and no tables and no coffee provided since 2020)! I ran out of the store, into the 45degree weather to avoid it. Then, the young man came toward me with his canister. I indicated please do not do that and he continued, until I was screaming for him to go away. He thought it was funny. When my car came out, I asked the attendant to tell his boss. He argued to me that some chemicals are safe. I really wondered why he would argue with me, while I was there, nauseated with a headache, about a nervine. I tried to explain that all he had to do was relay my comment to his boss. He thought it was funny. The men who used to work here have been replaced by boys who not only do not know how to behave but are not correctable. Not surprisingly, the work was not completed. Seldom any more do they reset the tire indicator. I called them, but of course this time, no response. I got 2 emails and a call from ??? (in no case was identification of position connected with a name) "to be sure everything was okay." Then, I got a claims representative. Went in for a car inspection on a 4 year old vehicle. After an hour of waiting was told my car wouldn't pass inspection due to a nail in the tire that couldn't be plugged. Either buy a new tire to get an inspection passed or "here are your keys". I took my keys and went to Costco to find out that my tire was able to be plugged due to a small nail. I also did not need new tires. They tried to get me for $850. Would not recommend on a good day. These people are crooks. read more

After deciding on doing 2 tires, I requested they put the 2 new ones on the front because it is a front wheel drive car. Originally was told this wouldn't be an issue. I show up an hour later and get told they put 2 new tires on the rear... He told me they wouldn't put the new tires in the front unless I replaced all 4??? My front 2 tires are still over 4/32 in tread so that's crazy! Why put the customer in more danger putting the n tires not on the drive wheels? You'd also figure a shop that specializes in tires would put your spare back properly and maybe air up the tires so my TPMS light isn't on? The service at this place is non existent. On Monday, I had a 3 O'clock appointment I had made on line, but it was almost 3:20 before anyone even offered to assist me. Then the guy spent quite a while explaining what I needed: 2 tires and 4 tire pressure sensors. The bill total came out to $650.00. But they didn't have the sensors to fit my car and had to order them. Said they would be in by today and made me another appointment for 1pm today. I arrived at 1 pm and nobody, again, came to assist me for at least 15 minutes. While I waited, a couple of people who had come before me turned around and left. Finally a guy asks me what I need, and I give him the written information the original salesman gave me and said "When you come in, just hand this to the associate and he'll know what to do - it's already in the computer." So I give him the paper with all the writing on it and he asks "What is this? I told him I was in Monday and they had to order some parts and asked to come back today at 1:00. "Who waited on you?" the guy asks. I don't know his name, he told me to present this paper. "Well, what is it that you want to have done?" he asks. So I calmly told him to just forget about it, and as the other three people before me, I walked out. Too bad, because this used to be my "go to" place for tires for our three cars. The service was EXCELLENT and they were quite fast compared to the location in Cedar Park. They had less of a wait due to less customers in line but faster is faster. I had a nail in my tire and needed a new one. They explained that the location was on the side wall and that mine was not repairable. It was nice to have them treat me like a person and not a "woman" when it came to explaining these things. He was nice but also very informative and helpful. I ended up waiting a little over an hour and was quoted about 45 minutes so I thought that wasn't too bad - especially compared to the 3 hour wait that was estimated by the Cedar Park location!!
