I had 2 technicians from the Tarzana store come out to replace our old pool motor and pump with a new variable speed one. Jacob and Nick we're very professional and courteous. They were educated about the new pump and didn't mind taking the time to explain how it operated. They also took care of the paperwork so we could receive the rebate from D.W.P. I'm done with Paradise Pool! I wrote a review a few years back (also not a good review), and the then owner Francisco asked me to remove it, as he was in the midst of selling the business. I loved Mary & George when they owned it, but the pool service was abysmal. The serviceman wouldn't show up half of the time. I saw that there is a new owner as of April 2019, and although they showed up for service, the serviceman had no idea what he was doing. They billed me for a filter clean and conditioning in April 2019, a service they DID NOT PERFORM. When I called the store about it, the new owner admitted the pool service guy didn't know what he was doing. Forward to today. My pool pump has no pressure. Probably because the filter was never cleaned in spring as it was supposed to be. When I called the shop, the owner told me to NOT pay the bill, and take my business elsewhere. Believe me, I will! For those who may already use Paradise Pool & Spa Service. Please note that any services they billed you for in April/May of 2019; like water conditioning and/or filter cleaning, were not performed, per the owner himself. Yet Paradise managed to bill all of their customers for a service they did not perform. How is this even legal? I called the Burbank police department, and asked if it is a crime. I was informed that it would be if Paradise Pool falsely billed for services to more than just me. Please let me know if so, or contact Burbank PD at 818-238-3000 and file a complaint. I have also contacted California Department of Consumer Affairs, the Better Business Bureau, and the Federal Trade Commission to file complaints against Paradise Pool. Stay away! My follow up a couple of hours later reveal that Paradise Pool is operating pool and spa maintenance without state Worker's Compensation insurance, and has been for several months. I have filed a complaint with the Contractors License Board for the scam billing, and now I will file a complaint with the CLB for Paradise Pool not having worker's compensation insurance. Paradise, hey, wouldn't it have been better if you just performed the services you billed for? Sh*t's gonna hit the fan for you in a couple of weeks...I'm just gonna sit back and relax while your karma catches up with you! read more

I was so impressed......until he never got back to me with a price and what day they could send someone out to install it. I called and left message after message for him to call me back.....he never did. Finally I was given Victor's cell phone number, when I DID reach him that way, he gave me a price on the light canister which I said was fine, and that he would have someone call me to install it. That was over a month ago. I just wanted to see if anyone would call me. I guess a $500.00 job isn't big enough for them to waste their time with me. I DONE WITH THEM! read more

I'm a new homeowner and I maintain my pool without the help of a pool guy, when I have a question I ask George and he is always more than helpful to provide a solution. About a month ago my Kreepy Krawler stopped working, unbeknownst to me the pressure was building up. George asked for my address, drove to my house, backwashed my filter, called me at work and told me what needed to be done. Now that's what I call service! This is HANDS DOWN the BEST mom and pop pool supply store in all of SoCal! Upon entering I was immediately greeted by a sweet couple named George and Mary who were beyond welcoming! First off, the store had been COMPLETELY remodeled since the last time I had visited it which was years ago when the owner was some oriental gentleman that didn't care about appearance.... Now, everything from the walls, to the ceiling, to the shelves and even the floors were redone! This tells me right off the bat that the new ownership/management cares about their store and wants people to come in. Secondly, I originally came in just for chlorine liquids but after talking with George and Mary I couldn't help resist buying the rest of my pool supplies from them, such as; a net, brush, an extended pole and even a much needed pool motor! All for an amazing deal that would have costed me a fortune at any larger pool supply store... Lastly, for me the most important thing is that they provided me EXCELLENT customer service! Not only were they both extremely knowledge about pools and how to clean/maintain them but they gave me advice on how to check my water levels properly to make sure that the pool is as best as it could be. I love this place! I buy all my pool stuff from them, especially chemicals. I also go there whenever I have to do maintenance to the pool parts, as they carry almost everything. One time the capacitor died in my motor, and he had one on the shelf for a few bucks (couldn't find it anywhere else btw). I buy all my chemicals there as well, because he's a lot more affordable. They changed my pool pump and it went bad in less than 6 month, because it was still under warranty they manufacture replaced the pump and they wanted to charge me for labor, now after another 6 month pump/Motor went bad again. I called him to use the manufacturer warranty but he refuses to help because he had to cover labor on last pump, he (George the owner) was very rude and told me go do whatever you want "ask your pool man to get a new pump for you". They are not trustworthy and very rude, they don't stand by product they sell. Don't trust them and don't but anything from them. read more

Just bought a home with a pool in less than perfect working order. It's been a trial and error learning about pumps, filters, cleaning, etc. I've tried a few different pool businesses and THIS IS THE PLACE. Forget Leslie's. I actually scheduled an appointment with one of Leslie's maintenance guys to look at pump and heater. They charge 100 bucks just to show up and don't do ANYTHING besides tell you how much money it's going to be to install new everything... which I didn't even end up needing. Saved about $3500 there. Paradise is the place where all the independent pool maintenance/ service guys go to get their supplies, so you know the prices are right. I just bought a kreepy krawly pool cleaner from them and Doyle took it out of the box and put it together for me in about 5 minutes. Compare that to the hour it would have taken me had I bought it elsewhere and carried it home in the unopened box. Do yourself a favor and skip Leslie's and hit this place. We recently fired Paradise Pool Service after over a year of subpar service. Half of the time they wouldn't show up on the day they were supposed to, and sometimes they wouldn't even show up at all. The people that they sent knew nothing about the mechanics and chemistry of pool maintenance. It took them over a month to fix our pool vac after we alerted them to the fact that it wasn't working. Their minions couldn't seem to operate our salt system to maintain a chlorine residual in our pool water, and resorted to throwing in one of those floating chorine dispensers. The icing on the cake was them cleaning our diatomaceous earth filter and dumping about a quarter inch of diatomaceous earth over our back patio and pet area. Run don't walk from these clowns. read more

I recently called about an issue I was having with my pool heater, expecting to have a technician sent out accompanied by a few-hundred-dollar invoice.
