I have been here a few times over the years. This time is was not a good experience. There was no line or waiting. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. It took more than 30 minutes to get our main courses after ordering. I always get the Broiled Seafood Platter $39.99. I am not the type to send food back but I SHOULD have this time. It was WAY over broiled. The few scallops there were, were over cooked and stuck to the metal pan. I had to scrape them off the metal plate leaving some stuck to the same. The same with the few shrimp. The smallish catch of the day fish too was stuck to the metal plate. The edges were brown and crispy. The single crab cake was cooked to dryness. Memorial Day weekend, we were definitely glad that they could get us right in without a wait. Our waitress was awesome and great with our kids which we really appreciated. Hubs and I had the soup and it was delicious. Kids food came out quickly but unfortunately ours didn't come out until a good 30-40 minutes later. It was honestly nothing to write home about. I had the stuffed flounder which wasn't actually stuffed. It was flounder with a crab cake on top with sauce. Being right on the ocean, I expected better. The restaurant had a New Orleans spin on every dish but I just didn't see it or taste it. Cajun red beans and rice came as a side dish with everything but it looked like glue. The Mariners platter was enough food for a family of four, so definitely good for a second or third meal- if taking home. Went in with a party of 11 and didn't have too high of expectation due to the hot/cold reviews. But boy, was it a let down. We ordered 5 trinity platters and a half pound of snow crab and some apps. The service was really great, but the food was so underwhelming. The She Crab Soup just tasted like salty heavy cream. The oysters were so dirty I would pick up black grime on my lips and the brine tasted like water. The Trinity Platter looked grandiose but the tastes and well-doneness was so inconsistent. Some people had their shrimp under or over cooked, had no flavor, and clams were not counted properly. Unfortunately, the food was not cooked properly and everyone who had the Trinity platter got sick. On a brighter note, their gator po boy was really good and worth the price. What an absolutely horrid experience... as someone who is a bartender/waitress I would be fired immediately for delivering the service that I was shown tonight. It took us 30 minutes for our waitress to come over, after I had ordered drinks at the bar. Then I ordered the king crab which was a whopping $126 per order, and received two crab legs which were bendy and contained no meat. Ordered it "boil" style which was a disgrace of an inedible sausage and two potatoes. And the oysters? Improperly kept as I was sick to my stomach for hours for the warm, rotten flesh they tried to serve me. Do not come here. Bar was closing down with 40+ people left simply because she could and the manager was "too busy" tending to the other (3) tables to come over and apologize for the meal. Terrible. Dirty Dicks - wow, oh, wow! Our male server, who we've had a few times, was very attentive, as always. Our food - WOW is all we can say! The Mariners Platter was big enough for 2 grown men to share, and they still left food on the plate. It was a GIGANTIC portion size and oh so delicious! Another meal we had was the shrimp tacos, another WOW!! These were big tacos full of shrimp, not just 3 or 4 shrimp per taco. so maybe 4 stars is too much. i don't really know. we'd drive by and see a sign "get pounded for $16.16". classy right? but the idea got us in the door. a pound of protein (fish, shrimp or chicken) and, i think, a pound of fries (or maybe it was a pound total). either way, the plate had a huge helping of fries and fish. sometimes a place lives in your thoughts because it's so bad. other times, because it's so good. rarely is it for both reasons. first, our server was incredibly nice but service was slow and often we were looking around to see if we could find him to request a drink refill or even to get our check. on the other hand, he did save me some money... i was going to order a side of hushpuppies but he let us know we would receive complimentary puppies and i could order additional if i wanted more. thanks to him, i was able to try them and didn't order more. they were overcooked, tough, greasy and overall kinda bad. the fries were find but way too many. the fish, however, was incredible. i don't know what type of fish it was but it was light and flaky. mild in flavor and perfectly "breaded". i wish i knew what it was because i can't stop thinking of how good it was. even the tartar sauce was delicious, though completely different than i'm used to. anyway, i'd be willing to go back for that fish. read more

Came for lunch We had the alligator bites, raw oysters, crab cakes (main course )it came with broccoli and dirty rice and the she crab soup. Everything was so delicious and tasty. One thing I had a Bloody Mary with souvenir class (a deal) it came with a shrimp that was dipped in old bay that was too salty to eat. That's my only negative. Service was fast and friendly.
