He signed us up for streaming through AT&T but did not tell us if you do cancel att will charge you a cancel fee $272. We hated the streaming had so much trouble getting it to work. Direc TV is the worst company to deal with. Stay away. The only reason to ever consider them was because they had the monopoly on Sunday ticket which has since moved to You Tube. Their customer service is non-existent. If you ever need a tech to come out they will schedule it only to no-show several times. Worst yet they don't even call to tell you they're not coming. They just don't show up and when you complain the answer from customer service is "that's just the way it is, we can't control the techs". They also charge you for things you didn't order or don't have and refuse to reverse the charges. Everyone that's works there Is incompetent to put it a nice way. I have been with AT&T for over 8 years and with Direct TV for about 5 years. The quality of service for my Wireless and TV service can improve but are acceptable - unless you need to call their "so called" Customer Service department. My DirectTV bill was almost doubled last month - not knowing what had happened I had no choice but to call them. What a painful experience. after 57 minutes of agonizing conversation I decided I could not take it any more - so I requested to cancel my account and the agent "gladly" complied. No attempt to work with me or try to persuade me to change my mind. Summary of my call: After about 18 minutes I finally spoke with the "loyalty" department. Me: Hi, I'd like to know why my new bill is almost double of what I have been paying. Agent: It is because your promotion has expired. Me: Can we extend the promotion or work something else out. Agent: If you are an AT&T wireless customer you can save $15 from your monthly bill. Me: Sure, I am an AT&T customer. Can you take care of it? Agent: You need to call AT&T and combine your DTV and AT&T account. Me: Sorry but that is not correct because AT&T told me to call DTV. Can you please get them on the phone and take care of this? Agent: (very hesitantly) I suppose. Let me put you on hold. Dead silence for 15 minutes - then he comes back and says - "Bundling you DTV and AT&T account will not save you any money. Me: Can I please speak with a senior representative in your team and see if we can do something with my high monthly bill? Agent: No, my supervisor will tell you the same. Me: OK then. I suppose I will have no other choice but to cancel my account. Agent: Sure! Effective when? Me: (shocked at his response) - My next billing cycle please Agent: OK. just remember to send back the receiver otherwise we'll charge you $239.00 That was four days ago. I would give a 0 star but cannot. The technology that Directv/AT$T advertise has not worked for me 90% of the time since they rolled it out. I can't download from my DVR to my iPad. I can't watch from my iPad even though I am on the same network. Today's frustration deals with another Directv "Promotion": rent 2 movies and get the third free. We rented two but saw nowhere on our account giving us credit for the free one. I called the Help desk. They tried to help me. They told me my "free rental" was on channels x-y. I say x-y because I could not understand what the representative was saying. I asked her to send me an email describing the channels and she said she would. Two hours later no email. I guess I am out of luck. It boggles my mind that companies like AT$T can get away with such poor client support. read more

I have been a Directv customer for over 15 years. When I discovered they were already charging me $48.99 a month for NFL SUNDAY TICKET, i called to ask them to cancel it and issue me a credit. I made 6 calls and was on hold for over 2 hours total. English was the native language of the very first person on the very first time I called regarding this issue. All of the rest were "not allowed to tell me their exact location," only that they were "offshore." I received a notice from them talking about my past due balance and how if it's not paid by a certain date my account will move from suspended to disconnected. When that happens, I will get more charges for any and all equipment not returned including every remote. In this notice they also threatened me that my account will get reported to the credit bureau and hurt my credit score. My contract with DirecTV is complete. Once I see that they have issued me a credit for NFL Sunday Ticket and any fees caused by them billing me for it, I will pay my bill and return all of my equipment. We were on the phone for 4 hours today trying to book service as a transfer to our new home in Baltimore. DO NOT GET THE GENIE!!! The new GUI for the genie makes the guide unreadable. It is light grey text on grey background, the guide is not customizable at all. I called and emailed and was told the concerns would be sent to wherever. I made the mistake of renewing my contract last month and now I'm paying for it with this poor GUI. We contacted DirectTV on Saturday and scheduled installation of new service for Monday between 8am and 12pm. We paid a $30 fee as well. We took time off work but no one called or showed. When we called after noon they said the install wasn't on the schedule due to a problem with the payment. No one ever called to let us know there was an issue or that the install was canceled. Despite this and our requests to speak with a supervisor, the girl in the call center only tried to set up another new account and reschedule the installation for Thursday. Terrible customer service. The online chat "support" people do not know anything about their company and their only solution is to unplug, then replug in the receiver. We have had to contact DirecTV several times and each time the service gets worse. Our first receiver died so they sent us a "new" receiver and now we don't get several channels that we are paying for. I called them and they kept having me unplug and replug in the receiver. The worst customer service i ever had with a company in terms of customer awareness thay do not take the time to listen to your concerns and issues and they keep on offering me services that i do not need. i have multiple technitians in my house to fix the same issue 5 times woth in the last year and they keep on blaiming my devices, when i call and complain about it they try to give me free hbo and cinemax that is an insult to me since the service that i pay for is for my kids 7&8 year olds and they want me to have adult entertaiment content for them, really after being a customer for over 20 years this past 3 years are the worst and Im going to leave then and tell all my friends and family to leave them as well as if they do i will give them a gift card of their choice. the comunication within the departament in direct tv is horrible they csn not follow simple requests. They don't deserve one star. Horrible experience. I was made an "offer" to switch to DirectTV to supply my internet and TV needs. It was a "free" installation. The guy came out and installed the dish and notified me that they don't serve internet in my location, a service I was guaranteed with my "offer." Apparently, their internet is streaming through a hotspot on my phone and not a modem. I called and told them to disable everything right away because that is not what I signed up for. Then the "free" installation became a $40 charge for a service I did not use. I found out about this via credit collection agency. I was also going to be paying twice as much as cable once the promotion was over. Poor customer service, false advertising, and lousy product. read more

I've had many frustrations with Direct TV over the last few years, so I finally called to find out if my contract had expired so I could try Dish again. WOW! What a difference this customer service experience was. When the girl from another country (who was very sweet) couldn't help, she immediately transferred me to someone actually in the US in their brand-new Loyalty Department. She started with, "what don't you like about your Direct TV experience?" and addressed every issue one at a time. I even got a monthly discount for a year WITHOUT having to start a new contract. My opinion of them has changed completely, and I would now wholeheartedly recommend Direct TV! :-) read more

Took it back to the store after the sales associate told me to bring it in (I was going in anyway to buy another fridge). Manager was upset about it & treated me like a common criminal. It's now July and I finally was able to reach someone on their chat line who told me the card will be sent out to me within 8-10 business days. Someone caledl me back a week later to tell me the card will not be snt out for 8-10 weeks. This is not my only complaint with them, but the one I am most focused on at this time. read more
