We moved and decide to go with the local cable company. Direct TV is charging me 20 months cost like I never cancelled the service and upgraded equipment cost to end the contract. Direct Tv/ stream it wirh at&t absolutely sucks. We were told by sales guy at Christiana mall we had 2 week to try if dont like we can cancel. He signed us up for streaming through AT&T but did not tell us if you do cancel att will charge you a cancel fee $272. We hated the streaming had so much trouble getting it to work. Att will not let us out of the contract, making us pay used for 3 days because we were urged it will be better after about 3 days we turned our comcast internet back on. Do not get Direct TV You will be sorry get a stick or anything else. ATT sucks too!! read more

3 Dam times today I've had to change password as each time doesn't recognize the new password and unable to sign it. It's just pathetic that such a large company is so stupid and unable to maintain my info for more than a week or two. For the record if any one from ATT OR DIRECTV EVER WATCHES THIS REVIEW SITE. I am so disgusted I've been a direct tv customer since 2006 . I have the nfl package max . I have now spent timeless hours trying to get the app on my mobile phone . I have spoken to at least 3 people a day for three days , and technical support . Now I'm on the phone again the first guy cut me off and now this guy is telling me I don't have the package . You have to talk to people all over the world . What is this world coming to ??? I'm so disgusted read more

LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS A company doesn't get so many consistent one-star reviews for good service. If anyone is considering using their services, hopefully, these consistent negative reviews will help you make a decision to pick another vendor. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

Direc TV is the worst company to deal with. Stay away. The only reason to ever consider them was because they had the monopoly on Sunday ticket which has since moved to You Tube. Their customer service is non-existent. If you ever need a tech to come out they will schedule it only to no-show several times. Worst yet they don't even call to tell you they're not coming. They just don't show up and when you complain the answer from customer service is "that's just the way it is, we can't control the techs". They also charge you for things you didn't order or don't have and refuse to reverse the charges. Everyone that's works there Is incompetent to put it a nice way. Every person I've ever spoken to didn't have the mental capacity to have a normal conversation. The people who answer the phone are literally worthless. They are a waste of good air and don't deserve to share the earth with normal people. read more

I'm new to Direct TV only had it about 3 months and so far it sucks!! The picture goes out if it's barely raining out and the customer service is horrible. Definatly done when the contract is up!! Update. Had the same horrible customer service rep 2 times in a row, it was very upsetting. Since then have spoken to two others that were very helpful and accommodating. read more

I have been with AT&T for over 8 years and with Direct TV for about 5 years. The quality of service for my Wireless and TV service can improve but are acceptable - unless you need to call their "so called" Customer Service department. My DirectTV bill was almost doubled last month - not knowing what had happened I had no choice but to call them. What a painful experience. after 57 minutes of agonizing conversation I decided I could not take it any more - so I requested to cancel my account and the agent "gladly" complied. No attempt to work with me or try to persuade me to change my mind. Summary of my call: After about 18 minutes I finally spoke with the "loyalty" department. Me: Hi, I'd like to know why my new bill is almost double of what I have been paying. Agent: It is because your promotion has expired. Me: Can we extend the promotion or work something else out. Agent: If you are an AT&T wireless customer you can save $15 from your monthly bill. Me: Sure, I am an AT&T customer. Can you take care of it? Agent: You need to call AT&T and combine your DTV and AT&T account. Me: Sorry but that is not correct because AT&T told me to call DTV. Can you please get them on the phone and take care of this? Agent: (very hesitantly) I suppose. Let me put you on hold. Dead silence for 15 minutes - then he comes back and says - "Bundling you DTV and AT&T account will not save you any money. Me: Can I please speak with a senior representative in your team and see if we can do something with my high monthly bill? Agent: No, my supervisor will tell you the same. Me: OK then. I suppose I will have no other choice but to cancel my account. Agent: Sure! Effective when? Me: (shocked at his response) - My next billing cycle please Agent: OK. just remember to send back the receiver otherwise we'll charge you $239.00 That was four days ago. Since then No one from Direct TV has called me to find out why I decided to cancel my account and if I would change my mind? ** Gone are the good-old customer service ** Great job AT&T and Direct TV. By the way, it will be really helpful if someone from AT&T or Direct TV could possibly call and experience their most horrendous Voice Response System. read more

I would give a 0 star but cannot. The technology that Directv/AT$T advertise has not worked for me 90% of the time since they rolled it out. I can't download from my DVR to my iPad. I can't watch from my iPad even though I am on the same network. Today's frustration deals with another Directv "Promotion": rent 2 movies and get the third free. We rented two but saw nowhere on our account giving us credit for the free one. I called the Help desk. They tried to help me. They told me my "free rental" was on channels x-y. I say x-y because I could not understand what the representative was saying. I asked her to send me an email describing the channels and she said she would. Two hours later no email. I guess I am out of luck. It boggles my mind that companies like AT$T can get away with such poor client support. read more

I have been a Directv customer for over 15 years. When I discovered they were already charging me $48.99 a month for NFL SUNDAY TICKET, i called to ask them to cancel it and issue me a credit. I made 6 calls and was on hold for over 2 hours total. English was the native language of the very first person on the very first time I called regarding this issue. All of the rest were "not allowed to tell me their exact location," only that they were "offshore." I received a notice from them talking about my past due balance and how if it's not paid by a certain date my account will move from suspended to disconnected. When that happens, I will get more charges for any and all equipment not returned including every remote. In this notice they also threatened me that my account will get reported to the credit bureau and hurt my credit score. My contract with DirecTV is complete. Once I see that they have issued me a credit for NFL Sunday Ticket and any fees caused by them billing me for it, I will pay my bill and return all of my equipment. GOODBYE DirecTV and AT&T! read more

Been a valued customer for over 14yrs.I moved and had a reconnection service set up scheduled for over 2 weeks.I called and confirmed the day before the set appointment and the technician never showed up.When i called to find out what happened they lied and said my appointment wasn't for that day.VERY DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER use them again!! We're previous customers of DirecTV, went to Comcast, then came back to DTV. Not exactly thrilled with it. Lost signal last night during the Grammys. And not just for a few minutes. From approximately 930pm until I just gave up and went to bed at about 1130pm, it was off. So disappointed, and surprised that this still happens. May have been the freezing rain, but it was barely raining at all. read more

I'd give it 0 stars if possible. I've been with DTV for close to 20 years. When AT&T took over it was the beginning of the end. Customer service somewhere overseas now. And they just completely destroyed the user interface. Fuck them! I'm cutting the cord - I can get all the content they provide for free on Kodi or via my Verizon phone with unlimited data. read more

I called to cancel my service with a promise to pay my balance and was told the service cannot be cancelled until balance is paid. Huh??? I told them fine but first adjust my balance for every single time my service was lost because it rained that day. Horrible service. If you're considering this company just hope your favorite program is not showing when the rain or snow starts because almost immediately your service is lost and can take hours to restore itself. read more

Cancelled service and was screwed out of $60 I was told I wouldn't have to pay. Terrible experience.

They are liars liars liars I had four appointments nobody showed up the technician lied and said that he was there but I have cameras he never showed I had an appointment on the third 7/9 and 10th nobody ever showed every time I called I will be over an hour and a half with them on the phone and still did not get anybody out. Horrible customer service. I was charged for the NFL package that I never signed up for last year, I called and they credited my account. I was charged AGAIN this year and they refused to credit it back ($240!!) because I called after the season started. Very conniving way of doing business, we canceled our service. Steer clear. read more

We were really holding out hope for DirecTV. We had them in Colorado and customer service was great. We were on the phone for 4 hours today trying to book service as a transfer to our new home in Baltimore. They were extremely difficult, passed us around to multiple reps, told us it was pointless for us to bring our equipment cross country as a previously recommended to transfer service and quoted us multiple different rates. Very confusing and frustrating. read more

DO NOT GET THE GENIE!!! The new GUI for the genie makes the guide unreadable. It is light grey text on grey background, the guide is not customizable at all. I called and emailed and was told the concerns would be sent to wherever. I made the mistake of renewing my contract last month and now I'm paying for it with this poor GUI. The engineer who designed it needs to get fired. He obviously doesn't have direct tv to have to use it. This is a major part of using DTV and it is amateur. #Fixtheguidtv read more

Good friends of mine were waiting for Directv to be installed Saturday. After 4 hrs of text messages saying they were on their way, the appointment changes to another day, no explanation, They called and wasted another hour on the phone trying to get answers. What happened to customer service? This company is rude and incompetent. After reading other reviews, I agree stay clear. read more

We contacted DirectTV on Saturday and scheduled installation of new service for Monday between 8am and 12pm. We paid a $30 fee as well. We took time off work but no one called or showed. When we called after noon they said the install wasn't on the schedule due to a problem with the payment. No one ever called to let us know there was an issue or that the install was canceled. Despite this and our requests to speak with a supervisor, the girl in the call center only tried to set up another new account and reschedule the installation for Thursday. We were shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. Amazingly Dish isn't looking so bad anymore. read more

Terrible customer service. The online chat "support" people do not know anything about their company and their only solution is to unplug, then replug in the receiver. We have had to contact DirecTV several times and each time the service gets worse. Our first receiver died so they sent us a "new" receiver and now we don't get several channels that we are paying for. I called them and they kept having me unplug and replug in the receiver. Then when they couldn't fix it they wanted to send out a technician and charge us $59 dollars. That is the last straw for us, we are cancelling our service. read more

Amazing service, quick and clean instal!!! Very happy with Gezahegn Gulema (GG) with Direct TV

Customer service is horrible!!!!! They are are incompetent; from their customer service reps to the supervisors. They fraudulently charge you for extra items that you do not have. Service goes out when its just light fog or drizzling. Would not recommend them to anyone. Can't wait until my contract is up - so done with them. I have nothing at all good to say. read more

The worst customer service i ever had with a company in terms of customer awareness thay do not take the time to listen to your concerns and issues and they keep on offering me services that i do not need. i have multiple technitians in my house to fix the same issue 5 times woth in the last year and they keep on blaiming my devices, when i call and complain about it they try to give me free hbo and cinemax that is an insult to me since the service that i pay for is for my kids 7&8 year olds and they want me to have adult entertaiment content for them, really after being a customer for over 20 years this past 3 years are the worst and Im going to leave then and tell all my friends and family to leave them as well as if they do i will give them a gift card of their choice. the comunication within the departament in direct tv is horrible they csn not follow simple requests. For instance if you as for a manager they give you a supervisor with an ego, in other words or like i put it to one of their suppervisors "if i want to speak with the owner of the circus why should i get the clown" she did not get it as that shows the level of understanding their cusyomers see on of the attached pictures of the average time that i have spend every time i call the support/technical/retention teams. words of wisdom do not get direct tv service unless you like to get frustrated and upset they are the worst!!!!!!!!!!! read more

They don't deserve one star. Horrible experience. I was made an "offer" to switch to DirectTV to supply my internet and TV needs. It was a "free" installation. The guy came out and installed the dish and notified me that they don't serve internet in my location, a service I was guaranteed with my "offer." Apparently, their internet is streaming through a hotspot on my phone and not a modem. I called and told them to disable everything right away because that is not what I signed up for. Then the "free" installation became a $40 charge for a service I did not use. I found out about this via credit collection agency. I was also going to be paying twice as much as cable once the promotion was over. Poor customer service, false advertising, and lousy product. read more

HORRIBLE company. I ordered their service last May, was told it was a two year contract @63.63/mo. I jumped on it. I get ebills, so unless I open every one, i just see the monthly charge. If nothing changes, why would I look? I got my bill today, it's almost double. I called, talked to three people none of which helped me. They can change the price if they want...come on. They said, you can cancel, but it will cost you $120. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again! read more

I've bounced back and forth between Direct TV and Dish over the years, never really happy with either and switching when their customer service (or actually, lack of) pushed me too far. I've had many frustrations with Direct TV over the last few years, so I finally called to find out if my contract had expired so I could try Dish again. WOW! What a difference this customer service experience was. When the girl from another country (who was very sweet) couldn't help, she immediately transferred me to someone actually in the US in their brand-new Loyalty Department. She started with, "what don't you like about your Direct TV experience?" and addressed every issue one at a time. I even got a monthly discount for a year WITHOUT having to start a new contract. My opinion of them has changed completely, and I would now wholeheartedly recommend Direct TV! :-) read more

Wish I could rate it a ZERO! The manager is a complete jerk. We bought a bunch of appliances. Opened the microwave the day after it was delivered & it was damaged. Took it back to the store after the sales associate told me to bring it in (I was going in anyway to buy another fridge). Manager was upset about it & treated me like a common criminal. He did exchange it but not until after he belittled me in front of the entire store. Needless to say I did not buy the fridge from there, nor will I buy anything there again! read more
