Due to continued price increases, I chose to terminate my service in November and called to cancel. The representative I spoke with assured me that my service would be discontinued and that I would receive a prepaid return box for the Hopper equipment. After this call, I logged into my account and made what I believed to be my final payment. However, unbeknownst to me, Dish Network reinstated my service without my authorization and continued to bill me. Since I had already moved on to streaming services and was no longer using Dish, I had no reason to suspect that I was still being charged. When the return box never arrived, I called customer service again, only to discover that my account had been reactivated. I was then wrongfully informed that I had agreed to renew my contract, and when I disputed this, the representative placed me on hold to check with another department. Upon returning, I was told there was no evidence of my authorization for renewal--which confirms that my account should have been canceled as initially requested. To add insult to injury, despite finally being able to return the equipment, Dish Network has added a non-return equipment charge to my account. I am now being forced to pay for two months of unwanted service and an unjustified fee, making this situation feel like outright extortion. Consumers be very careful

Alex, salesperson (5 stars!), was extremely helpful spending a half hour trying to sort out the error with customer support. The manager "Mike" approached us, did not understand issue, said the Comcast dunning email I got must be spam (it was not), the computer was always correct (it was not), customer service information was wrong (they were not) because they were in India. When I persisted, he attacked me, said I was "acting like a child" (?) and tried to throw me out of the store! He is a slick sales guy with clear issues (ego? women?) and should never be a store manager. Someone in management at Xfinity needs to fire MIke or send him to anger management class and reward Alex for continuing to support me in spite of his boss's assholery.

I said I didn't really need one, but my husband, who was with me, said "why not"? It took over an hour for the salesgirl to set up the watch for me. A month later I saw my bill from Xfinity and there were almost $20 in charges related to having the new watch- and these would be made monthly for 36 months!! I went back to the store with an appt. Talked to a young man who worked on the problem for 20 minutes before telling me he made a mistake and needed to spend more time. Fifteen minutes later I said "excuse me" to interrupt the manager (who was nearby and working with another customer for the previous 35 minutes) and tell him we needed help. He told the guy working with me to take my number, and he said he'd call me that day. I received no phone call and so I made another appointment for today. When I came in the manager said he didn't need to see me- he had put in a ticket. I replied that "no, I need to talk with you". After he logged in everyone else, he saw me. I asked why he didn't call and he said that he told me he'd call if the problem were solved- which was not true. He had said he'd call that day. He gave excuses about being so busy. I told him I'd gone ahead and fixed it with customer service and that I was sending the watch back. He proceeded to tell me I had been rude to his customer (!???) and that I wasn't welcome anymore in his store. He said "what's a big deal about $8 anyway?" - $8 being part of the cost of the watch monthly. I told him that when you multiplied by 36 months, it was a lot more money. Who was he to judge what that amount meant to me, anyway? I have never in my 71 years been treated this way in a store. I was never told "sorry" for their mistake about the promotion or for my inconveniences. Unbelievable!

Definitely irritated by the latest news that Clear will be ceasing operations as of November 6th…read more In some ways, I'm actually glad for it, because the service has been irritatingly slow (especially within the last month), and the technical help is less than stellar. However, what's even worse is the fact that with the exit of Clear as an Internet provider, Baltimore City residents now only have .... Verizon and Comcast to choose from. That's it. Two monopolies. Whoop-dee-do, I'm so excited. Not. I seriously wish that Google had picked Baltimore as a startup city for their fiber optic network, but eh. It is what it is. I, too, have been with Clear from the very beginning (since the "xohm.com" days) and up until now, I've been satisfied with it only because I didn't have to put up with Verizon or Comcast's crap. No more, I guess. Bummer. If we in Baltimore City want fiber optic capabilities (and we should, damn it - this is SUPPOSED to be a major metropolitan area), I would encourage everyone to visit the Baltimore Broadband Coalition - it's a grassroots effort to get fiber optic lines into this city, and it's well worth your while. Visit them here at http://crowdfiber.com/campaigns/baltimore-broadband-coalition. Buhbyes, Clear. You served me well, but I can't say I'm happy with the decision to cease service.

I went through the Sprint mobile broadband experience and was hosed by Sprint (Sprint... I'm saving my fire for your review... here's a spoiler... YOU SUCK). Clear has been professional, has lived up to my expectations, no contract, is very affordable, and is fast. Check the coverage areas before you sign up, so you know what to expect. The modem is ugly (but who cares), and I have to put it in the window to get a 3-light signal at night. When on 2 lights it is still fine for streaming Netflix or Hulu Plus. I think for the price, the no-contract, and by checking your coverage maps... you can make the right decision. Clear has been good to me so far, and I hope you have the same experience.
