This place has been such a great addition to my son's early intervention program. The receptionist, Breanna, is always very welcoming. Although their space is a little small, they will be moving directly downstairs, to a larger suite. There's always a parking spot, although it is quite full. The elevator is a bit antiquated, but it gets me, and my stroller upstairs, in a reasonable amount of time. My therapist is always professional, and her skills and knowledge are great. Direct Therapy is Amazing! The service is excellent my daughters speech therapist Sara is awesome. My daughter looks forward to coming to her sessions and we have noticed improvement in her these past couple of months of her coming to her sessions. She is really getting the help she needs. While the therapists can be great, the scheduling/mgmt and front of the house is insincere, and not understanding. Finding scheduling is difficult, they have very limited time slots available. When we first started I loved they had iPads to watch the sessions, but then the headphones were always broken and then only one side of them worked... eventually their internet went down and once it was "fixed" the streams were always frozen or just didn't work at all, so I was no longer able to watch the sessions. The Mgr had met with me at one point and wanted to put my son on a speech assistive device, since he was talking, and making progress consistently, I felt like this would be a step back, or a crutch. She made it clear I was incorrect and did not support my decision to pass on it. I explained I would rather work on improving his ability to speak than taking session time to learn how to use a device that would speak for him. They do have a restroom in the office, but not for the kiddos, they'll give you a key to go out and use the bathroom for the whole office site they're on. This is petty, but still I'll mention it bc I think it does speak for their level of investment, they have a "treasure box" for the 4th visit, but the contents/choices are not even as good as a dollar store item...very cheapy paper/plastic junk items; my five year old would often look through it only to be good and pass. Anyways, Fast forward because I was able to look past all of this because I felt he was progressing well. We were there for almost two years I believe, never once missed a session with out calling to cancel. We had a very big, emotional family emergency with my mom, we immediately drive down to San Diego and with our minds distracted, missed our appt and didn't think to call... for the first time ever. They charged us $50 and asked us not to return until it was resolved. I emailed the Mgr to explain and ask if the fee could possibly be waived this once after such a good previous track record. After not getting a reply all week, I reached out again, asking if she had received it. She did, but she's so "overwhelmed with daily emails" she couldn't get back to me, and still wasn't able to help me. She said she's not able to make these decisions () and to contact the front desk. One day later they called me to let me know I've been dropped and they no longer care to work with our son. We had never had problems before, and found this to be a very in-compassionate, drastic, and harsh response to the situation. The owner also had the poor new girl call me instead of reaching out herself, even though we were the ones discussing it thus far. She explained the mgr said since I did not call the front desk- again email received Monday afternoon, dropped for not responding Wednesday morning-they've filled his time slots and choose to know longer help with his progress, mind you, they never tried to contact me to discuss our current situation. I'm sad that bc I wanted to just ask if it was possible to waive the fee, my son is paying for it and lost his therapy. Denying to waive the fee would've been the worst case scenario I would've expected, but not to be dropped entirely for it. Given that a lot of our kids and families have emergencies come up more often than other families (oh, also even if you call ahead and cancel 24 hours in advance, you can only do this once in a month before you are on a probation and if you miss more than 80% of their sessions again in a month you will be dropped... even if they're "excused"). So, it may be better to explore your other options and find a therapy office a bit more sympathetic to the special needs of our families. read more

I have my 2 boys in Direct Therapy and they love here. The therapists here are very thoughtful and made great schedule for both boys. They have been here for over a year and made great progress on speech. Highly recommend! read more

I'm extremely happy with the services my child has been receiving at Direct Therapy. My child has seen several therapist in the office and every single one has made a positive contribution to my child's goals. Each therapist has "their own way" of working and interacting with children and the office is full of toys and games that are used as teaching tools and/or cues which really works for my child. The therapist also help teach parents how to incorporate the lesson at home. The front office is always courteous and friendly. My voicemails typically get returned before the end of the business day. When my child first started therapy he was using one to two word phrases, now we're able to have a dialogue and his personality has come out. He is less frustrated and so much happier! We've (therapist, child, parents) worked so hard and I'm thankful we found Direct Therapy. They truly care about their clients! read more

My son has been comong here for about 3 years now. And he loves comeing to speech. He has had all different therapist. And loves working with all of them. They are always will to work,with you schedule, or find a better time for you child to be at his/her best. They are always friendly and welcoming. read more

Therapist my daughter was seeing was great but person in charge for scheduling appointments is very unprofessional, unorganized, calls multiple times asking same questions and when I brought this to managements attention they dropped my daughter from the program. read more

We love Terri; if this was a review for her it would be 5+ stars. However we've had issues with the whole no show no call policy that is in place. At first they said they waived one every year. When they realized they had not waived it and didn't want to, they suddenly had changed the policy. Breanna Cruz the office manager is a very difficult person to deal with she may have a calm tone of voice and talk to you like you're a child but she has no sense of real customer service or client preservation skills. My son got HFM so as a location that deals with kids that must get this often it is known it is a highly contagious virus that last up to 2 weeks. My husband called the day before session at 2:01 because he was leaving Kaiser at that time and had just found out what our son had. The receptionist had the audacity to tell him he had not called 24 hrs prior to the appointment. Our sons appointment the next day was for 2pm. Not sure what my husband said (because you know kids don't/can't get sick the day of or a few hours before session) but she quickly said it was just a minute and would note the cancellation. I didn't make the call but my husband says he told her what our son had and that he couldn't attend or be anywhere public per doctors orders for 11 days because it was highly contagious. We couldn't bring him the following week because he was still contagious but apparently we didn't give them notification of this so we are being charged a 50.00 fee when we just pay 15 per visit and actually we don't pay a fee because my son has met his deductible. I get it policy in place blah blah blah but seriously my son was sick! I got my medical doctor involved who has asked me to contact the better business bureau regarding this. Which I have contacted and filed a formal complaint with already. Honestly I am so sad it has to come to this but this is not the first time we've had these issues. One time we just took our son with a fever because it was after the 24 hr window. We were asked to leave so we mentioned their whole 24 hr policy so Michelle said well if it's sickness it is different. Well didn't seem like the case here. We are just trying to get our child some help and because he is sick we are being charged?! Another issue I have is Breanna refuses to allow me to talk to the site director Michelle Hayes because she claims she doesn't deal with these matters. I don't care what she does and doesn't deal with. She's the site director and I would think before A formal complaint was filed regarding your bogus "updated" policies that have not been given to us in paper, I would allow the owner to talk to its clients. We have also reached out to Kaiser about this issue and the report has already been escalated to try to remove them from their referral program. Just like the representative said we all miss work due to illness and a doctors note allows you to not get you fired or fined how could a doctors note not do anything for your son. Therefore, we will be referred elsewhere soon. Thank goodness because dealing with people that have no heart or care to understand individual situations is exhausting. As a manager there are times to make exceptions in order to show compassion and grow your business the right way. But I believe what goes around comes around. I feel she just doesn't like me because I don't stay quiet about these kinds of things. I even suggested the charge be added to the service plan and Breanna said that those fees couldn't be routed that way because they aren't service fee but site fees. That must be how they make their extra money. I get it now charge only 15 for services but take advantage of the clients with a 50 dollar fee when life happens. Got it. read more

My son loves going to direct speech! Everytime he is there he knocks on the door asking to go in immediately, and this is the only place that makes he so enthusiastic. His therapist is very knowledgeable, experienced and most importantly, patient with love for him, and we learned a lot from her. My son keeps on making progress with her! Everyone in the office and front desk are so helpful, they put client's concerns first and help with us in a timely manner. Thank you all!!! read more

Michael is great. I've known her since 6 years ago for my autism kid. All staffs are nice and helpful.

5 stars isn't enough for this place.! My son has been coming here for 2 years and I must say we choose the best place. Starting with the front desk girl breanna always so helpful and smiley just brights up the office.! Now Mrs. Irma my sons speech therapist always on point with everything not only has she helped my son but she has helped me dad and brother with points and notes on how to help my son!
