    Not impressed
    Angel L.

I'm at the food truck Friday in Peoria, AZ and while I'm waiting for my waffle I witnessed the female inside the truck add vegetable oil to the Nutella! Yuck! Who does that! I'm assuming to make it go further?? Also I've been waiting 10 mins and it looks as if they have one waffle iron . Not impressed at all. Also has little children running the cash register and the man is not using gloves Inside while preparing the waffles. Sprinkled nuts and apples w his bare hands!!!

    Nope!

This is perfect for celebrations for company buildings or school or parties. The truck comes to you and it is an amazing dessert.

I was really excited to bring my parents here while they were visiting from out of town, as I've…read morealways thought the food at Valentine is fantastic and genuinely unique. We arrived without a reservation and were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, which was totally reasonable. We waited the full time and checked in once, only to find the wait continuing to extend while several outdoor tables sat open. When we politely asked about our table, the host (a woman with glasses) responded with a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. At one point, she muttered under her breath something along the lines of, "If you guys are so anxious... you can head over there," which multiple people in our group heard. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We were eventually seated at a table that was partially in direct sun, and when we asked about moving to one of the shaded tables, we were told they were unavailable and "reserved". However, those tables remained empty for over 30 minutes, which was frustrating given the situation. To be fair, there was another older woman on staff who was warm, attentive, and fantastic, and the food itself continues to be a highlight. The menu is creative, thoughtful, and one of the reasons we've come back multiple times. That said, this isn't the first time we've experienced service issues here, and it often feels like the restaurant is understaffed, which may be contributing to the inconsistency. I really want to love this place and continue recommending it, but experiences like this make it hard. Great food can only carry things so far when the hospitality side feels off. It's one thing to occasionally be understaffed (I understand people call off in this business) but there's a consistency here which points towards management issues and then on top of it, when your hostess is unnecessarily rude, that's a real bummer. We live in the Willo nearby and I don't think we're going to keep coming here if this restaurant allows the constant service issues and the rude staff like this.

The food feels local yet innovative and most importantly, everything was delicious. Octopus: 5/5 The best octopus dish I've ever had. My seven-year-old son kept asking for more and more. Pretzel: 4/5 The whipped butter and honeycomb paired perfectly with the pretzel. If you're a pretzel lover, you'll really enjoy this. Gem Salad: 5/5 Fresh, bright, and lightly dressed with a subtle mustard flavor. Elote Pasta: If you love Mexican street corn, this playful pasta dish is a fun take on it. Charcoal Cabbage: 10/5 Incredible. The flavors were so unique. It tasted kind of like black garlic. Absolutely unforgettable. Pesto Sundae Dessert: 5/5 So creative and innovative. Fun play on pesto. I've never had ice cream made with pine nuts before and loved it. The basil granita was incredibly refreshing. Service: 10/5 I wish I had gotten their names, but our server (a boxer) and the hostess with long brown hair were fantastic. Truly warm and welcoming service.

I normally get the sunrise breakfast sandwich and it hits the spot. I love how they toast the bread with butter so it's extra delightful when you bite into the sandwich. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice! The service to me has always been normal- not over the top but also just enough to know you are being taken care of. Perfect when I'm half awake on the weekend. The weekends can get pretty busy but there is a good amount of parking available. Coffee is pretty good for a fast casual restaurant as well + a fairly good price.

One thing to know is there is no table service. You order at the counter and they have a lot of choices so if you have never been there it's hard to decide while other people are waiting behind you. I came with my mom and we were craving pancakes so again didn't get any eggs which is what they are known for and their breakfast pizzas. So I'll come back to try those. We split buttermilk pancakes and a cinnamon roll. They do have real maple syrup but of course they up charge for the good stuff. The pancakes are ok but don't taste like buttermilk pancakes. They looked good but it definitely tasted like a mix and not a good one. They were way overly sweet. They weren't terrible but just not great. 4/10 on the pancake scale. The cinnamon roll also tasted like a store bought premade roll. It was also kind of burnt and didn't taste like anything. The only good thing was the coffee which I was highly skeptical about because it was serve yourself from a carafe. But it was good and strong. Nice views of the mountains and the patio is dog friendly. I want to like this place because it's in my neighborhood so next time I'll try the eggs dishes. Also they have several veggie/vegan selections so I'll come back for those too and to bring my dog.

The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.

If you arrive early, there's a large parking lot; later in the morning, valet takes over. The location is ideal if you want to pair it with a run, bike ride or walk along the canal or the shaded bridle path on Central--hard to beat that setup in Phoenix. The food holds up: the breakfast burritos are phenomenal and exactly what you want after a workout, paired with solid coffee. This location fits right in to this area. Ohso really knows how to show their rewards members that they care and are interested in making sure rewards members feel appreciated. For a birthday reward, they send a $20 dollar voucher toward your meal. That's right $20 dollars. We went for brunch today and they offer a mimosa or a 12oz draft beer with your brunch entree if you choose from the $17 dollar brunch menu choices. There is a lot to choose from, something for almost everyone. My Birthday isn't until next weekend but we thought since this is the last weekend before winter break is over and I will be back to teaching on Monday this would be a great way to spend our Saturday! We also love the atmosphere of this location. So much love for the area is shown in the decor and they have a beautiful patio that faces the canal. Lots of people walking by and bike riding. Beautiful bar in-between the inside and outside. Luke took care of us and he was attentive, personable and so helpful. We splurged on egg dishes, since we are typically vegan. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Lox Benedict and a Wonderful breakfast bowl. 2 - 12 oz draft beers and $20 dollars off our bill. They do have a gluten free and vegan menu, which we have eaten from and it's great! Treat yourself and stop by this location. You won't be disappointed!
