    Not impressed
    Angel L.

I'm at the food truck Friday in Peoria, AZ and while I'm waiting for my waffle I witnessed the female inside the truck add vegetable oil to the Nutella! Yuck! Who does that! I'm assuming to make it go further?? Also I've been waiting 10 mins and it looks as if they have one waffle iron . Not impressed at all. Also has little children running the cash register and the man is not using gloves Inside while preparing the waffles. Sprinkled nuts and apples w his bare hands!!!

    Nope!

This is perfect for celebrations for company buildings or school or parties. The truck comes to you and it is an amazing dessert.

The hostess made a pastry recommendation and my server had the same recommendation so I tried the pain suisse. 10/10! It was a beautifully flaky pastry with sweetness from the guava. So delicious. I also had the seasonal quiche which was flavorful. It came with a small salad, and I will even commend them on the crispness of the lettuce. 10/10. The coffee selection is unique. I tried the cajeta latte, which was described as their take on a salted caramel latte. So good! My only critique would be the cup in comes in. While very stylish, it didn't have a handle so I had to use my napkin to pick up my cup at first. Overall, very satisfied and would highly recommend!

Phoenix and the valley has good restaurants and that's about it. And don't get me started on the chain restaurant mentality here. And then there is Valentine. I was excited to have dinner there last night with friends, although I thought the hype of this restaurant was more instagram famous than it was good. I was mistaken. Greatly mistaken. My friends and I arrived for dinner last night and we were greeted with a wonderful staff and a really cool vibe on the inside. Very casual but not lacking in anything. The service was really great. I love when a server welcomes you to the table and can take the cues when people are having a conversation as opposed to constantly asking," Have you made up your mind?" Our server was fantastic and very accommodating. Sadly I do not remember her name. Now let's talk about the food. We started with three delicious cocktails, the salmon dip and the pretzel. Both were deliciously flavorful. The butter and honey with the pretzel really elevated the pretzel. Great accompaniment. For our mains, we shared the yucca and potato pave, the elote pasta, the ribs, and the trout. All was fantastic, but the real star was the trout. Perfectly cooked, and accompanied by the most impressive rice pilaf. It could stand on the menu by itself. The most important thing for me to point out is that all of these dishes were perfectly seasoned. It is my opinion, and since I'm writing this review, it is the only opinion that counts, almost every single restaurant I've been to in my 11 years of living here do not layer the seasoning, especially salt. They are either so bland the dish has little to no taste, or they pile all seasoning on the top and hope for the best. Valentine stands above the rest. Thank you, Valentine, for what I'm sure was the first of many meals for me at your table.

Went there on a Saturday morning. There was a little bit of a wait, but not too. Had a wonderful waiting area to sit with great vibes great music. Lively atmosphere. Being in Arcadia Neighbourhood, you see a mix of people. Everything from hipsters, to aunties and uncs, and people looking like they just left the set of Pop the Balloon or Find Love. As for the food, I had the catfish and grits. The catfish was cooked perfectly, well seasoned. Hot crispy fresh. The grits were a bit lacking as they were pretty runny but overall a good bite. Other people in my party got a short rib hash said it was delicious. The French toast and the pancakes are not anything different than what you get at any other high-end brunch spot. Prices of what you expect for a place like this, but all in all I would recommend.

They do have valet parking at this establishment or you can park on the side street about two blocks away for free. We opted to just park two blocks away. On this occasion, our server was very sweet. She was also a cancer zodiac sign, so very nurturing and she insured that we had a great experience. For food I have no complaints. I really enjoyed the grits and catfish and also a birthday pancake that was given to me by the establishment. I thought that was a really nice gesture, and it was delicious. The vibe and the food for this establishment is five stars. What I take issue with is the lack of glassware. I think if you're gonna offer sparkling wine or mimosas or even champagne, you should have the proper stemware. I thought that the mimosa flights came off very low brow and there was no way I was drinking out of what looked like glass baby bottles. When asked for a wine stem glass, they didn't have any. And I actually believe the server which they need to do better IKEA is not that far you can get some wine glasses. This is essential. I did also see that they had some upgraded bottles for bubbles and I wish I would've saw that on a menu as I would've purchased an upgrade it Prosecco or champagne. However, I would've been livid if I purchased an upgraded bottle and had to drink out of thick cognac glasses. Anyway, I would come back here, but I just think they need to do better on the actual glassware. It would elevate this establishment.

She made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down and checked on us just the right amount. We ordered two BEC sandwiches, which sadly are no longer on the menu, but wow, they were delicious! Such a tasty choice and the perfect addition to the meal. Great service, delicious food, and a lovely breakfast experience. Thank you, Arely, for taking such good care of us. The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.

The music and atmosphere were energetic maybe a little loud for my personal taste but the overall vibe was fun and social. I also noticed a nice patio area in the back of the restaurant. The layout of the restaurant was unique. I had never been to this location before. There is a counter-service area near the entrance where you can eat casually or order food to go, while the full-service dining area is located farther back. I I also enjoyed reading the historical displays throughout the restaurant that shared the history of Sunnyslope and the building itself, including its former life as "The Arbor." It added a unique local touch to the experience. I ordered the Ensalada Del Sol, which was generously sized and made with fresh ingredients. The chili-rubbed chicken was tender, and the food arrived quickly. My only concern was the consistency of the chicken. It was much saltier than expected and overpowered some of the other flavors in the salad. There also wasn't quite enough cilantro dressing for the flavor to come through. This was actually the second time I've experienced overly salty chicken here on the same salad, My bartender/server was friendly, attentive, and offered helpful drink recommendations. Even so, I enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and character of the restaurant and would return to try other menu items. Even on a Saturday afternoon parking seems to be an issue, however, I did notice there was a complementary valet service.

If you arrive early, there's a large parking lot; later in the morning, valet takes over. The location is ideal if you want to pair it with a run, bike ride or walk along the canal or the shaded bridle path on Central--hard to beat that setup in Phoenix. The food holds up: the breakfast burritos are phenomenal and exactly what you want after a workout, paired with solid coffee. Overall, it's one of those dependable spots that just works--casual, accommodating, and well-suited for both groups and post-run refueling.
