Horrible customer service, there's probably a toxic workplace environment going on there. Overpriced food taste was alright. Ambiance was nice but your better off going to Lagos in Fullerton. read more

DIOSA Downey - Mar Y Tierra. Medium rare steak was very tender - New Mexican Cuisine Near Me - Downey, California

Great ambiance but horrible service. Went there for the first time for lunch. There were only 3 more parties there so it was slow. We were a Party of six. We were immediately seated but waited 15 minutes for server and water. When the server finally showed up, she disappeared after taking our order. We asked for another round of water but didn't get it despite several of us getting up to ask. We never got refills of our 8 oz glass of water and ate our entire meal without anything to drink. Enchiladas were good but I don't plan on ever retuning. With so many options for great Mexican food why patron a place that doesn't put customers first. read more

Happy hour all day on a Sunday. Can't go wrong! Good margaritas. Happy hour menu is good for little dishes like the enchiladas but you have to order rice and beans on the side if you want them. Vibes are good the location is nice. read more

Not worth it for brunch, waited a really long time for food and menu was misleading and salty. Also charge 3 percent more for "rising cost"

Celebrated my husband's birthday I loved how special they made him feel ! We got the Enchiladas and mole everything was so delicious, especially my drink I got a spicy watermelon with Serrano agua fresca it definitely was spicy I would recommend if you like spicy things such a beautiful place definitely will be coming again read more

read a bunch of bad reviews. mostly because of the service. yes in the beginning, we did wait a while to get our drink order so we decided to give them our food order when our waiter came. the minute you enter, the ambiance makes you feel like you're at a miami, florida restaurant or in LA. the ambience didn't feel like the other restaurants in the city of downey. the drinks were a lil light on alcohol- but still well crafted. the tomahawk and sides were prepared really well. yes it's pricey but well worth it. i'm really glad we came to celebrate my friends birthday here. it's really a perfect setting for a celebration. read more

I was there in December 2024. DIOSA is a restaurant placed in a strip mall, but I could see it stand alone in Newport or the Palisades. The decor is a Mediterranean crossed with Vegas. The staff is amazing and during the holiday party season loud and fun for groups. For our intimate dinner for two not so much unfortunately, it couldn't be helped. The food was decent we made the mistake of ordering the pasta out of the Parmesan wheel and it was really salty. The rest of the food and drinks were good though. read more

The whole experience was absolutely amazing! From the second we walked in service was absolutely amazing! My favorite drink was the mezcal it came in a beautiful box and came out with some smoke, it was perfect and had a Smokey sweet taste, it was smooth like water. The food was delicious, every single thing we ordered was sooo good!!! I didn't get pictures of the food but here are the drinks!!!! read more

Food FIREEEE! Drinks FIREEEEE! David provided great service & hospitality! I loved the music selection, sets the vibe!

Went here for a birthday! my server was Lisa, and she was amazing! The food was really good, but very pricy! We all got the enchiladas poblanos and the portion size was great, and it came with rice and beans. My sister ordered the steak empanadas, and they were just OK. The street corn comes with freshly made chips, and it was delicious. The enchiladas were really good too, but be warned: they are spicy! We also ordered the Santorini and the Diosa and Co and they were both pretty good. For dessert, they gave us free Horchata ice cream, which was delicious! They also have a churro dish that they make for you table side, we did not get it because we had brought a cake, but the people next to us got it and if you like a show, I would definitely recommend trying it! There are plenty of cute photo ops when you first walk into the restaurant, and we came on a weekday, so there was plenty of parking, but they have their own parking lot and parking is free. I would definitely come here again! read more

The food was pretty good overall. We had a party of 14 and the food took over 30 minutes to be served. The chicken Posole had a super thick spicy broth. The chicken was sautéed and mixed into the Posole so the flavor profile was off. I sent it back. A small bowl is not worth $15 if it doesn't hit the spot. They also charge a 3% surcharge. They explained that it was due to the government inflation so that they don't increase the food prices even more. It can't be waived. Our server was nice and observant. Ambiance was fun. Definitely a date night spot for drinks. read more

I really recommend this place for a few reasons. Place is beautiful, food is delicious and service is the best from everyone. One person that did standout was David. He was so nice and although he was not our waiter he took his time to greet us and made sure we were ok. read more

The restaurant was beautiful, elegant and amazing, but when it came to the service and food I was extremely disappointed. It took about 30 mins for us to get drinks and about 40-45 mins to get food that was not cooked correctly I was given shrimp tacos and I am allergic to shrimp I informed the server and he said you ordered them and wanted me to take them I was shocked and disappointed with how everything went I will definitely be not going ever again, even the party next to us walked out without paying due to the lack of service and unprofessionalism of the staff. read more

I honestly didn't have crazy expectations for this place. Sometimes when restaurants are trendy on social media the quality is compromised. I loved it! The food, the ambiance all of it but I must say the services was the best. I retuned to Diosa today after not being back for 8 months and it was a true joy. The manager on duty (Prisela) and the bartender (Luis) ensure that my guest and myself enjoyed our experience. I would recommend everyone to experience their lovely ambiance, food and vibe but if you enjoy excellent service ask for Prisela. She will make your experience one not to forget. Thank you. read more

Food is not that good and very expensive plus the service wasn't that great either. A couple can eat much better somewhere else for than $285.00 which was our total bill for three drinks, ribeye steak, mar y tierra plate, two shrimp taquito appetizers and a chocolate cake dessert. read more

My friends and I went to Diosa and it did not disappoint! The sea bass taco was amazing and the lobster quesadilla was good as well. The arroz verde was amazing and left us wanting to try everything on the menu! We can't wait to go back! We also had the churros Foster which was delicious! The drinks were great, and the service was excellent! Ask for Mike or Mike (there's 2 lol) at the bar. Their energy, and service was great! We had a good time! My wife went to this location and they seemed to have no sense of purpose on bringing the food out fast and efficiently. They took forever on getting the food to the table, to the point where we had to have the food packed once we got it. One word: PERFECTION! Huge thank you to the staff, especially Cassidy, for welcoming us in and providing immaculate service. Our server was Lisa. She was incredibly personable and attentive. She was able to describe all the various menus items and drinks and suggested the Caramilla which was delicious. As well as the quesadilla lobster. We would recommend the restaurant and her as our server anytime. We look forward to returning. read more

Had stayed away since I'm not always a fan of the crowd in the area but it seemed like place i had to try. The place is stunning, the decoration and layout works perfect. Service was top notch, I sat at the bar and was constantly checked up on with a smile and willingness to make small talk. The manager at the time was what you expect at a place like this, someone that makes you feel welcomed and important. The drinks are presented in such an unique classy fashion without over doing it. I would say it definitely a MUST do. read more

Went with my wife to celebrate Valentine's Day and it was a great experience! There was a bit of a wait at the door but nothing serious and as with any other major holiday it was expected, but they planned ahead and had a nice wait area at their outdoor terrace! The hosts at the door were pleasant, as soon as our table was ready they paged us. The wait was well worth it! Linda was our server and she was great. The food was excellent and drinks were delicious, I recommend the Tulum cocktail. All the staff was polite and friendly, we'll definitely be back. read more

I give this place 3 stars. The food and drinks are great as well as the atmosphere in the restaurant. The restaurant is very beautiful. However, the restrooms are disgusting. It smelled like a sewer in the ladies restroom and there was a pile of used toilet paper and toilet seat covers on the corner floor because the trash was overfilled. Additionally, the service is not the greatest from the 2 times I have been there. I went in March and the waitress made us feel rushed as she came up to our table asking if we were ready to pay the bill and if we needed boxes for our food when we clearly were still in the process of eating; our food and drinks weren't even half way done. Before that she came by many times asking if we needed anything else although we kept telling her everything is fine. We went on a Thursday around 5pm, it was not busy as half of the restaurant was empty, so not sure why the rush. If they had a busy night I can understand the rush but it was mostly empty. My second visit was on Mother's Day weekend (Saturday) and it took forever to get our food. I understand Mother's day weekend can get busy, but it took about 45 minutes to get our appetizers. The food is a bit pricey, but not worth it for the service and dirty restrooms. read more

Made a reservation for 6:45pm, I had to waiting until 7:45pm. So what's the point of making a reservation!

My family and I went the day after opening day for my sisters birthday and we were really impressed with the decor. It was nice having a nice restaurant close to home. We started off with margaritas, guacamole and langostina taquitos. Everything had good taste, just wish the guac came with more chips for the price. We couldn't finish the guac and the waiter took it and we hate that it went to waste. The plate pictured was the Mar y Tierra which was 10/10. Filtet minon was cooked to perfection, scallops were delicious, and shrimp had a good flavor. The third layer is fried mash potato which was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed this dish. We also ordered the seafood Alfredo and the waiter hyped us up about a parmesan cheese roll show table side and we were very disappointed when they brought out our plate already made. Nonetheless, the dish was delicious and the seafood was phenomenal but we were excited for the show. Overall, the food was great and I am looking forward to coming again and trying more of their menu and hoping to experience that cheese wheel table side read more

Soooooooo yummy! Service and food was excellent. I got the egg and steak, it was so saucy and filling. The egg was cooked perfectly and topped with avocado the perfect combo. Staff was nice and helpful. I would say the only crappy thing is the drinks they weren't good in my opinion the juices were watered down and alcohol drinks didn't taste good. So come for the food! read more
