(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is fab cafe right next to Los Gatos High! Eddie warmly greeted me! Dio Frappé! New! Delish! Perfect sweetness! Macchiato! Traditional! mmhmm. That's right, ladies! Greek Yogurt avec Honey! Soo good! Would order everything again! Thanks, Eddie! Woohoo!

Overall just okay. The food was decent but not standout for the price... the steak was tough and underwhelming, and the lobster pasta didn't resemble the online photos; the sauce was watery. Service was friendly but very slow and seemed understaffed toward the end, so we skipped dessert to avoid more waiting. An acceptable experience, but not one I'd return for.

We are back for more delicious Greek food and wine and we love it here. Our waiter Dimitri has zero personality. We are ordering sashimi and scallops and Brussels sprouts since we had them on Saturday night when we sat at the bar and that was way more fun!!!

Dio Deka is located in a lovely, safe, lively but quiet, neighborhood. From the moment we stepped in the doors to the moment we stepped out, we were greeted with courtesy and perfect service. The staff was quick, knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to when our water was low of if we needed a new napkin or silverware. They took extra care to bring a decanter for our bottle of wine, then they poured our wine and even gave us new glasses when we had a second different bottle. It's the little details that really make their quality of service stand out. The ambience is wonderful! Beautiful decorations that give a warm, upper class homey feel. The touch of having a fireplace inside brings out the romance. To top it off, the food is fabulous! Our party enjoyed the: octopus appetizer-cooked perfectly, lobster fettuccine-flavors were delectable, rib eye steak-seasoned well and cooked to perfection, seafood risotto- wonderful flavors and fresh seafood, pork chop- large and juicy and paired well with a slightly sweet topping Branzino- the fish was moist with a slight crisp, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. For dessert, we could not make up our mind so we got: Cheesecake baklava- soft and creamy with a flaky baklava crust, Loukoumades-perfectly crispy and soft beignets, with just the right amount of sweetness, Yiaourti-thick, creamy, slightly tart yogurt, with the perfect sweetness from the berries. We came here for my mother's birthday. They truly made her feel like a queen. I would definitely come back and I recommend this place to everyone!

The meal was consistent and clean, which I appreciated. The taste was mild and simple, not bad but lacking excitement. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere casual, so overall it felt like a fair three-star dinner.

This place is the ultimate date night spot to go to with your significant other. Our waiter was super friendly and very informative about the wine and food menu. My husband ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the scallops with risotto and the flavor was incredible. We split the seafood pasta and while it was good, it wasn't nearly as incredible as our personal dishes we ordered. Their homemade tiziki was light and fresh and complimented their homemade bread. Overall, it was a great experience, worth the high price point! We would happily go back here for a special occasion again.

The lobster pasta was definitely the star of the show!

I've been meaning to try this place for awhile. As a Greek, I pride myself to try the many different authentic Greek restaurants in the area. So when hubby suggested to go on a date night, I knew just where I wanted to go. I'd give this place 3.5 stars out of 5. This restaurant is tucked away from the busy downtown of Los Gatos. It's actually a restaurant part of a hotel. So if you aren't staying at the hotel, you have to park on the street. We didn't have any trouble finding street parking but you do get the sense that you are in a hotel ambiance. One of the highlights is walking into the entrance and seeing the beautiful fountain! We were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance I'd say was decent. They have Greek music playing but the lighting could have been better. Now for the food. I had reviewed the recommendations from previous yelpers so I had an idea what to order. The main tip is yes, definitely order the Greek dishes as that is their specialty! For appetizers, we had the fried zucchini and the saganaki. Now the Saganaki is typically served flambé but they actually took a different spin to their saganaki. They serve it more sweeter, drizzled with honey. Apparently that's how the owners grandmother used to make it so I thought that was a nice touch. It was interesting for a saganaki though as I was used to more savory! The main meals were delicious. I had the lobster pasta and the sauce and the lobster melted in your mouth. It was also a generous portion which I appreciated. Hubby had the lamb shanks that were also tasty. The one thing to note about the meals is that you order the main dish (like lobster pasta or lamb shank) and you have to order the sides seperately (the potatoes, veggies, etc). I thought that was a little weird and not to mention it was costly for the amount as well. This is not very typical in Greece so I didn't think that part was that authentic. For dessert we had the baklava although at that point we were both ready to be rolled out of the restaurant because we were so full! The service was also pretty attentive and friendly. Overall I thought it was a nice place and we had a lovely time but I don't think I will be back. It doesn't compare to the caliber of the other Greek restaurants in Palo Alto that we go often to. You definitely feel like you are part of a hotel, not just its separate restaurant. Full disclosure, it was a tad forgettable in that sense, and the fact we had to order sides as extra kind of turned me off. However I am still glad I tried it. I'd recommend coming here for a date night to try it out for yourself! Just be prepared to pay extra for sides, feel as if it's part of a hotel and have it be semi-Greek authentic. And if you do come here, definitely get the lobster pasta!!!

Superb Greek food and wine, excellent service. Pleasant atmosphere. We went for our anniversary dinner and plan to go back for other big events! The tomato-watermelon gazpacho was superb!

Went to Dio Deka for my second time and I was absolutely blown away by the food and the service. We were there as a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday dinner; we were warmly greeted and had the most amazing server, Athos, who gave perfect food recommendations and was so lively that his presence really brightened our already wonderful evening. The cocktail menu is a little short and not my style so Athos recommended a raspberry mojito and it was the best mojito I've had, such strong mint flavor! We ordered spanikopita, octopus, and carrot fritters as appetizers and all three were delicious. The char and flavor on the octopus was so good! I finally found an octopus to rival the one at Hero Ranch Kitchen :) I had the lobster pasta for my entree and the ekmek for dessert and both were full of flavor and unlike other dishes I've had before. I also tried a friend's baklava and it was the best I've ever had. Thank you to Dio Deka and Athos for such a fun, memorable evening!

Lamb volcano shank

Went for a birthday dinner, thought we'd class it up a bit and go for some fine Greek dining at Dio Deka, which didn't disappoint. A couple of us had the Arni Youvetsi "lamb volcano shank", which was delicious and a sizeable portion. We also had the lobster pasta, which was great as well (as long as you don't mind looking at a lobster head ); rich and creamy sauce. Marco was an amazing server and gave great guidance on both food and drink. Ambiance is light, modern, and chatty. I haven't been here for a few years, but I have to come back sooner.

Bernard G.

Excellent food but check the prices before you go. All very good. Lamb shank favor was a solid 10/10!

The details: I normally don't eat a lot of meat, so I chose the Falafel Salad. It came with extremely little lettuce, plus a few olives (which I don't eat), onions (which I also eat sparingly), tomatoes, cucumbers, and the falafel balls. Oh! And there was feta cheese, but those were such miniscule pieces, and so few, that I wouldn't have remembered it was supposed to be part of the salad, if I didn't just pull up a photo online with their ordering system. What you see in the photo online is not what you get. The photo actually looks like a salad. Since it was called a salad, I expected there to be more lettuce, than the few pieces on the plate. I mainly was cutting up the cucumber & tomato pieces to go with the falafels. I don't even recall any dressing. There were also some pita slices with what I assumed was hummus. Whatever the dip was, it did not taste good to me at all. So I left all of the pita bread, as well, since it was dry without anything on it. Maybe what I assumed was hummus was a dressing. Hard to know, but it was not tasty. For the $27 I paid at a walk up counter, I would have expected much better food! I have bought frozen falafels at Lunardis (around $7) and made a salad for them at home, and enjoyed it very much, which is why I ordered it. I have purchased Spanakopita at the store many times, (about $5 for around 12 of them at the store) and made them at home, which is why I didn't order that. The falafel salad was not an enjoyable meal for me at Yiassoo's. I'd also seen some reviews from a few years back that said they paid around $10 or $11 for their meal. That is more in-line price-wise with what you get, based upon my meal. With most of the meals around $20 for lunch, I feel they were very over-priced. I also asked my friend if she'd like to split a Baklava. They had a pistachio one & chocolate one. My friend wanted to try the chocolate one, so I bought that. I didn't think I was too into baklava, but thought it might be nice to try at this highly rated Greek restaurant. The main flavor that came through was the honey & nuts. The chocolate was just a tiny, narrow drizzle on top. I didn't hate it, but I would never order it again. My friend took one bite, and said she mainly tasted the honey, and would take it home for her husband. It may be very good baklava, but it was not to our tastes. My friend ordered the Gyro salad. It had a large pile of shaved meat, and she seemed to enjoy it. She ordered it To-Go, as she knew she'd be taking some of it home. She seemed to have more lettuce under her pile of meat than my meal got. Maybe because it was in a To-Go box, which might be larger than the plate? Or maybe the person making my salad just wasn't paying attention to how to make a decent meal. I was hoping I was trying a restaurant that I could go back to for something different. Based upon my experience, I would not go back, if I had a choice. I gave it 3 stars, because maybe other dishes, or people looking to just eat meat or falafel balls and not much else would enjoy it. I only have the 1 meal to review, but it does not encourage me to try it again. Overpriced & not a fulfilling meal.

It is located in a rather small business complex with other restaurants around. Parking can be a little tight during peak hours, but it is so worth it. It is a walk-up to order type of place where they bring your food out to you. The menu is clear to see, however they have a ton of options. One of the questions we had was what was the difference between a gyro and a souvlaki. The best way to think about it is, a gyro has shaved meat, while a souvlaki has skewered chunked meat. We ordered the dolmades, chicken gyro combo (comes with fries), and a beef souvlaki. The beef souvlaki was seasoned well and the red onions, French fries and other ingredients provides the perfect well-balanced flavor. The chicken gyro was also a well seasoned and balanced gyro in soft pita bread. The highlight for us,however, was the dolmades. If you think you have good ones throughout San Jose, I can guarantee, you will not see this one coming. It came out warm, slightly acidic, but also well balanced. It has meat in it,which I think might be veal or beef, I scarfed it down so fast I completely forgot to ask what type of meat they use. I cannot wait to go back and visit again. Those dolmades are calling me!
