Polenteria rebranded. Everything is the same except for the owners. However, the food has taken a dive. The Cesar salad was just ok...not a fan of the big crouton which was hard to eat. The arancini and my polenta were both flavorless and overrun with red chillies. I don't see chillies as flavor and it should have come with a warning. I was not expecting my Italian food to be this spicy. Service was great but the food...

My sister has gradually become more allergic (first it was more of a sensitivity) to gluten, so I wanted to take her to a gluten-free restaurant for her birthday. She has had too many incidents where she ate at a restaurant and they said a dish was gluten-free, and then later on she realized it was not. Senza is very unique in that every single item on the menu is gluten-free. My sister was so excited and she had a hard time deciding what to get. We tried the eggplant parmesan, which was excellent. My sister loved this dish! We also got the arrabiata burrata. I liked the fresh burrata and spicy tomato sauce. I could not tell that the fresh noodles were gluten-free. For dessert, we shared the beignets. The outside was nice and crispy and although it was a bit dense, I thought it was tasty and done well. I look forward to coming again with my sister so she can relax and fully enjoy her meal!

Beautiful little restaurant! I love when restaurants have charm and ambience and Senza have both. No need for fancy overdone anything when the food and service is beautiful. Really feels like you're eating an intimate meal in Italy. Thank you. We'll be back!

this review is for the senza glutten free bakery open in the morning around 9am-2pm. the bakery isn't inside but on the side next to the restaurant! i recommend coming early bc they usually run out of most of their baked goods after 12?? i went visited one time after 12 and they ran out of their popular items we stopped by after yoga around 9:30am! i got some cookies and a banana bread!! personally i love that the pastries are healthy and still sweet!! i can taste the authentic flavor coming through! my notes: cookie - so soft and thick chewy !! i personally loveee the texture banana bread - the banana flavor is fresh !! not too sweet! not overpowering

Nice small restaurant, went there on a Sunday evening so it wasn't too crowded. Let me start by saying Italian food and gluten-free don't normally go together, so pulling this off isn't an easy task. Highlights: Service - A-, attentive, water kept full, generous wine by the glass pour, but their wines are pricey Beet and Burrata Salad - A+, would go back just for this Beignets - A-, they would have gotten a solid A if they were just dusted with sugar instead of half buried with powdered sugar. Surprising chew to them and filling for gluten free Sauces and Jams - A - well done and not salty nor overly sweet So-So - Lowlights: Pasta - C+, not al-dente, I just don't know how this can be pulled off without the gluten. Consistency was akin to canned pasta. Meatballs - B - overly dense, these may have been overworked prior to cooking or overcooked Bruschetta - B- - bread is supposed to be toasted and should "hold" the contents, these were like the bread and butter. Affogato - B - Decent but not great, lots of coffee, little ice cream and it was served already poured, not at the table. The basics are all there for a great restaurant. Maybe if they had gluten options for those not on dietary restrictions, we would return. The South Bay Area needs more small Italian eateries competing like they do in San Francisco and New York.

We had a very nice dinner at Senza over the weekend, and the place is a very cute and cozy restaurant. As someone who is gluten-free, it is very nice to be able to look at the menu and see a bunch of options and not have to pick between only 2 options. The food was INCREDIBLE!! My favorite items there were the risotto balls and the beet salad, hands down. The complimentary bread that they gave was also amazing, and I could barely even tell it was gluten-free. I did take one star away because, although the owner very generously gave me a pastry to take home, which I was so excited about. But when I open the packet at home, I saw it was all moldy :(

We had to see if they had any, and luckily there was exactly one left! We bought it to have for breakfast the next morning. I'll admit, I was a little nervous because it was packaged in a bag and I wasn't sure how well it would hold up overnight. But the next morning, we basically fought over who was going to get the biggest piece. It was still flaky and delicious, and there was chocolate in every bite. The chocolate was in strips through the middle rather than spread throughout the entire pastry, but there was still enough that we never had a bite without chocolate. It ended up being such a sweet way to start our last day in town. They had so many other pastries and desserts that looked absolutely amazing, but we had just eaten lunch and knew we were heading back out for the day, so we didn't want to risk buying something that might melt in the car. If you're in Los Gatos and love chocolate croissants as much as we do, definitely stop in! And if there's only one left...don't hesitate. Grab it!

Ironically, the employees speak Russian among themselves. We always order in English, but the service immediately became cold and unfriendly. The café is dirty, the tables are greasy, the seat cushions are stained, and I had to wipe my own table while the staff stood around watching. When I asked why the tables weren't being cleaned, I was given a sour look, as if it were my responsibility. The cakes taste old and stale. I genuinely don't understand why the owner allows her staff to treat customers this way simply because of the language they speak. Personal opinions or biases have no place in customer service.

I mean, my goodness, they are so good. My favorites are 1. Ted Lasso Shortbread Cookes (soft buttery unlike ANYTHING, best shortbread cookie you will ever have) 2. Dominos (two dense and rich chocolate cookies sandwiching some cream) 3.Chocolate dipped peanut butter Cookes (self explanatory) 4. Sprinkle vanilla cookie (don't be fooled, perfect bite and vanilla taste) 5. Lemon cream cookie, super nice tang lemon flavor. A great summer or spring cookie Each cookie is so different too! I feel like some bakeries take a base dough recipe and add a little lemon or add a little coco powder to build out their cookie selection. NOT icing on the cake. Each cookie has its OWN texture and a strong flavor profile. They are unique and absolutely delicious! I cry inside because I used to live in Campbell but did not know about this bakery, I now make the occasional hour drive and stock up on cookies to freeze. THEY ARE THAT GOOD. I have also tried their traditional cookies (i.e. chocolate chip cookie etc) I have to say the snickerdoodle was my favorite but I do not think they are as stand-out as the list above. The edible egg-less cookie dough is a perfect little sweet treat. And of course the cupcakes here are really unique and yummy! I particularly like the old school vanilla cupcake, peanut butter cupcake, and the cookie dough cupcake. If you like mint chocolate chip ice cream you will also like that one. Can't go wrong it seems, what a wonderful bakery. I pray one day they release a cookbook. (Service is a little hit or miss I feel like some if the ladies are SO nice and then some are a little moody, which is a bummer sometimes because I always drop over $100 each visit)

The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. Both are worth the trip.

Pastries and breads are often not uniform in size. Pastries that come out smaller or torn, damaged still get selected to be sold to customers instead of seen as a quality defect and pulled. In comparison to premium bakeries in SF, Palo Alto, or even Los Gatos, this was disappointing. I would think it would be better to pull the one or two pastries in that tray. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The prices they had in the beginning were fair, but with the recent increase along with those issues, I'm sad to rate it lower.

Since this was our first time here and we're not too familiar with Eastern European dishes, we opted for the chef's menu and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the presentation was even better. Everything felt very fresh. The egg and the macaron bites are so unique, I would definitely recommend giving them a try.
