this review is for the senza glutten free bakery open in the morning around 9am-2pm. the bakery isn't inside but on the side next to the restaurant! i recommend coming early bc they usually run out of most of their baked goods after 12?? i went visited one time after 12 and they ran out of their popular items we stopped by after yoga around 9:30am! i got some cookies and a banana bread!! personally i love that the pastries are healthy and still sweet!! i can taste the authentic flavor coming through! my notes: cookie - so soft and thick chewy !! i personally loveee the texture banana bread - the banana flavor is fresh !! not too sweet! not overpowering

We had a very nice dinner at Senza over the weekend, and the place is a very cute and cozy restaurant. As someone who is gluten-free, it is very nice to be able to look at the menu and see a bunch of options and not have to pick between only 2 options. The food was INCREDIBLE!! My favorite items there were the risotto balls and the beet salad, hands down. The complimentary bread that they gave was also amazing, and I could barely even tell it was gluten-free. I did take one star away because, although the owner very generously gave me a pastry to take home, which I was so excited about. But when I open the packet at home, I saw it was all moldy :(

This is my favorite restaurant ever, and this incredible restaurant is totally celiac safe! The restaurant is also a beautiful space to eat in, cozy and wonderful. I feel so safe dining here, and I've never had an issue. My partner and I come to Senza at least every other week. We drive down from Stanford for the food because it is so worth it. We also come here to celebrate every special occasion in our lives: anniversaries, graduation etc. I always feel so good after dining here. Norma the owner is so wonderful, kind, and detail oriented. The gnocchi is one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. Overall, the food is incredible and fresh. The flavors are so on point. We also love the Chicken Parmesan and the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake. I've eaten all around Italy, and I can still say this place is amazing. The arancini are also so good!!! I left a similar review on FindmeGlutenFree so other members of the gluten free and celiac community can find this place. It's a hidden gem!! Oh the focaccia is so so so good. We buy a whole loaf to take home when we come dine in. It freezes and reheats really well.

The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

Luckily when we went around 3/4 it wasn't too crowded. Complimentary bread ~ I thought it was good and light! Appetizers: Calamari - 3/5 the batter was light which I liked but I wished it had more seasoning. It felt on the more bland side. Pasta: I got the Saliccia e funghi, it was light and flavorful. I like the pasta noodle and the combination - which had chicken, mushrooms. I don't go out of my way for Italian food but I'm so glad I found this place! Definitely will be back to try different dishes.

Service: 5/5 I wish I had gotten our waiter's name because he was fantastic, probably one of the best we've had in a while among any restaurant. He was very friendly, gave us genuine recommendations and had a perfect balance of being attentive yet distant at the same time. He intentionally gave us plenty of time to enjoy our drinks and apps before placing our entree order, which we always appreciate. Food & drink: 4.5/5 For drinks, I ordered the Pinot Grigio and the Yount Mill House Cab. The Pinot was refreshing and not super floral, which I liked. We absolutely loved the Cab, which had strong blackberry and baking notes! For food, we ordered the artichoke dip, brussel sprouts, the Primadonna and the Alfredo. First, the servings are pretty big; I feel like 3-4 people could've shared what we ordered! The artichoke dip was delicious, with a good balance of creamy and salty from the toasted Parmesan cheese on top, and the ciabatta bread was very fluffy. The brussel sprouts had a great flavor with lemon and Parmesan but weren't crispy enough for my liking (granted they weren't advertised as being crispy). For both our entrees, the pasta was definitely freshly made and cooked al dente. I loved the combination of flavors in the Primadonna, from salty from the pancetta to garlic and red pepper from the aglio e olio, to creamy from the mozzarella; this was definitely my kind of pasta dish! The Alfredo was a hit for my boyfriend, although he did mention there could be slightly more salt and pepper. Ambiance: 5/5 We were lucky to sit outside on the small patio to enjoy the nice weather, which felt less tight and bustling than the inside. However, I think the front dining area would've still been nice as the whole front was open to the outside. Would definitely come back again!

We had to send it back for re heating and the result was it was returned a bit dried out. Third, my eggplant was hot, ample and delicious. I shared it with a tablemate. Sadly, though, it came without bread. groan. I mentioned to the waiter that I had expected bread so I wouldn't have to leave the sauce; but he said the order does not come with bread. groan. jeesh! I was also disappointed not to see sfincione on the menu. It had been offered at the enoteca in San Jose. Although I don't have to be gluten-free, I certainly feel better with my reduced intake. Finally, a bread plate can be set before me and I can eat a slice with their unique dipping sauce that is reminiscent of a Chinese dipping sauce. Here's what we had: gluten-free bread + dipping sauce - bread was super soft arancini - crispy-on-the-outside and cheesy-on-the-inside fried rice ball, there were some bits on the outside that were hard pork chop with polenta - this was a special and the pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, 5 out of 5 halibut piccata with mashed potatoes - solid preparation, no complaints mushrooms with polenta - mild tasting birthday cake - beautiful looking, but stodgy at the base Although I'd come back for the pork chop, everything was well-prepared and nobody left disappointed. The bread and butter appetizer is super fresh and a great starter. The focaccia is reminiscent of pound cake in its moistness and density. The Chicken Marsala was just right, not overcooked and loaded with mushrooms and string beans on a bed of puréed mashed potatoes. The Watermelon & Crispy Pork Belly salad was different from any salad I've ever had. There was a soft bacon-like quality to the pork belly cubes and the watermelon had been seared and seasoned. The Limoncello Martini was a bit vodka-forward but good. I organized a company holiday dinner there a couple years ago and their manager was very accommodating. Apparently they opened the restaurant for us on an evening that they are normally closed. But there were 3 or 4 other parties seated nearby so we didn't have the entire place to ourselves which was fine but a little surprising. I tried the massive Tomahawk Steak while other people ordered their polenta dishes and Scallop Risotto. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and had a memorable night. Overall, Polenteria is a special experience for those who are interested in gluten-free fusion Italian dishes.

To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Parking wasn't too bad at 6pm (we could park in the middle areas of the hotel parking lot) but by the time we left, the parking lot was full. She provided us with recommendations at the top and when we were asking questions about getting multiple dishes family-style, she provided feedback on whether it would be enough for the table. We felt well-attended to. Asa does rotate through their menu and the main downside was timing for us! My sister really wanted the carbonara she had seen on the menu but they had literally switched over to their spring menu. No carbonara for my sis. :( We shared: Jamon Iberico (good, straightforward), Caesar salad (I wish I had had my own! Really well dressed), trumpet mushrooms (the vinegar was a little too strong for my sister but I thought it was tasty and delicious), cauliflower (sister's favorite dish), spring pasta à la vodka (good, although it didn't particularly stand out in my opinion), exotic mushroom rigatoni (delicious!) and my favorite, the Argentine steak. The chimichurri sauce was perfect to balance out the meat, and I loved dipping the fries in the remnants of the sauce. Only 2 of us got dessert and we both chose the olio nuevo ice cream. They used high quality olive oil and the entire thing was delicious. Would definitely get again! Overall, excellent experience and food at Asa.
