Polenteria rebranded. Everything is the same except for the owners. However, the food has taken a dive. The Cesar salad was just ok...not a fan of the big crouton which was hard to eat. The arancini and my polenta were both flavorless and overrun with red chillies. I don't see chillies as flavor and it should have come with a warning. I was not expecting my Italian food to be this spicy. Service was great but the food...

My sister has gradually become more allergic (first it was more of a sensitivity) to gluten, so I wanted to take her to a gluten-free restaurant for her birthday. She has had too many incidents where she ate at a restaurant and they said a dish was gluten-free, and then later on she realized it was not. Senza is very unique in that every single item on the menu is gluten-free. My sister was so excited and she had a hard time deciding what to get. We tried the eggplant parmesan, which was excellent. My sister loved this dish! We also got the arrabiata burrata. I liked the fresh burrata and spicy tomato sauce. I could not tell that the fresh noodles were gluten-free. For dessert, we shared the beignets. The outside was nice and crispy and although it was a bit dense, I thought it was tasty and done well. I look forward to coming again with my sister so she can relax and fully enjoy her meal!

Beautiful little restaurant! I love when restaurants have charm and ambience and Senza have both. No need for fancy overdone anything when the food and service is beautiful. Really feels like you're eating an intimate meal in Italy. Thank you. We'll be back!

Nice small restaurant, went there on a Sunday evening so it wasn't too crowded. Let me start by saying Italian food and gluten-free don't normally go together, so pulling this off isn't an easy task. Highlights: Service - A-, attentive, water kept full, generous wine by the glass pour, but their wines are pricey Beet and Burrata Salad - A+, would go back just for this Beignets - A-, they would have gotten a solid A if they were just dusted with sugar instead of half buried with powdered sugar. Surprising chew to them and filling for gluten free Sauces and Jams - A - well done and not salty nor overly sweet So-So - Lowlights: Pasta - C+, not al-dente, I just don't know how this can be pulled off without the gluten. Consistency was akin to canned pasta. Meatballs - B - overly dense, these may have been overworked prior to cooking or overcooked Bruschetta - B- - bread is supposed to be toasted and should "hold" the contents, these were like the bread and butter. Affogato - B - Decent but not great, lots of coffee, little ice cream and it was served already poured, not at the table. The basics are all there for a great restaurant. Maybe if they had gluten options for those not on dietary restrictions, we would return. The South Bay Area needs more small Italian eateries competing like they do in San Francisco and New York.

this review is for the senza glutten free bakery open in the morning around 9am-2pm. the bakery isn't inside but on the side next to the restaurant! i recommend coming early bc they usually run out of most of their baked goods after 12?? i went visited one time after 12 and they ran out of their popular items we stopped by after yoga around 9:30am! i got some cookies and a banana bread!! personally i love that the pastries are healthy and still sweet!! i can taste the authentic flavor coming through! my notes: cookie - so soft and thick chewy !! i personally loveee the texture banana bread - the banana flavor is fresh !! not too sweet! not overpowering

We had a very nice dinner at Senza over the weekend, and the place is a very cute and cozy restaurant. As someone who is gluten-free, it is very nice to be able to look at the menu and see a bunch of options and not have to pick between only 2 options. The food was INCREDIBLE!! My favorite items there were the risotto balls and the beet salad, hands down. The complimentary bread that they gave was also amazing, and I could barely even tell it was gluten-free. I did take one star away because, although the owner very generously gave me a pastry to take home, which I was so excited about. But when I open the packet at home, I saw it was all moldy :(

The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. The portions and quality justify the price, and it stands out as one of the better Italian spots in the Bay Area.

Although I don't have to be gluten-free, I certainly feel better with my reduced intake. Finally, a bread plate can be set before me and I can eat a slice with their unique dipping sauce that is reminiscent of a Chinese dipping sauce. Here's what we had: gluten-free bread + dipping sauce - bread was super soft arancini - crispy-on-the-outside and cheesy-on-the-inside fried rice ball, there were some bits on the outside that were hard pork chop with polenta - this was a special and the pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, 5 out of 5 halibut piccata with mashed potatoes - solid preparation, no complaints mushrooms with polenta - mild tasting birthday cake - beautiful looking, but stodgy at the base Although I'd come back for the pork chop, everything was well-prepared and nobody left disappointed. The bread and butter appetizer is super fresh and a great starter. The focaccia is reminiscent of pound cake in its moistness and density. The Chicken Marsala was just right, not overcooked and loaded with mushrooms and string beans on a bed of puréed mashed potatoes. The Watermelon & Crispy Pork Belly salad was different from any salad I've ever had. There was a soft bacon-like quality to the pork belly cubes and the watermelon had been seared and seasoned. The Limoncello Martini was a bit vodka-forward but good. I organized a company holiday dinner there a couple years ago and their manager was very accommodating. Apparently they opened the restaurant for us on an evening that they are normally closed. But there were 3 or 4 other parties seated nearby so we didn't have the entire place to ourselves which was fine but a little surprising. I tried the massive Tomahawk Steak while other people ordered their polenta dishes and Scallop Risotto. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and had a memorable night. Overall, Polenteria is a special experience for those who are interested in gluten-free fusion Italian dishes.

To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Come hungry, leave happy!

Now I get why Sorelle has such a high score, and I'm happy that we finally gave it a try…read more It's situated in a small strip mall, parking is ok as we came at around 6:30pm on a week day night, there were still some spots available. Sorelle is a small restaurant, upon entering, it has a square room and you get to see everything at one glance. It's not fancy on decorations, more like a neighborly place and the customers look like so too, families and large groups on a random day, you don't need to dress up to eat in this place. The 2 page menu has appetizers, salad, pizza, pasta, and 3 entree dishes. Desserts are printed on a separate sheet, there are a variety of choices but a tad too expensive for my wallet. We ordered the Ravioli a la Teresa with cheese and pesto cream sauce, and their signature Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese. After ordering, we were given free bread for the table. The bread had herbs on top and the dipping sauce is olive oil with fried and then mashed soft garlic. The bread looked nothing special, but once I touched it, I was delighted to find out that they were warm and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. It took a bit of wait for our food to came, I think it meant they were freshly cooked. The portions were big. Once laying down our food, the lady came with a big bowl of cheese and helped us sprinkle on top. It looks amazing with the cheese on top, like snow flakes melting on. I am so impressed with my short rib bolognese. The piece of short rib was sumptuous, a whole piece, resting on top of the pasta that is covered in meat sauce. The meat itself was so soft that it was super easy to tear off and just melts in my mouth. Flavorful and soft and juicy, super yummy! The pasta is cooked el dente, and each bite there's a bit of ground meat coated on the ziti pasta from the bolognese sauce. Very satisfying! I had a bite of the ravioli and these huge dumplings are covered in fresh pesto sauce and very cheesy inside. Although I was a bit confused on the difference between a pesto sauce and a pesto cream. I felt like the sauce was more pesto but we ordered pesto cream. Anyhow, it tasted good but I prefer my short rib bolognese more. Bus boy service is fast and responsive. We had a very enjoyable meal.

The restaurant has interesting decor and is not like most establishments of this nature as it is informal and is not in " the fine linen and white tablecloth " type of vein. No, the restaurant itself ( in a casual, rustic sort of way ) is very cozy and warm. inviting in a semi-formal way where you can relax to enjoy a fine meal and that is exactly what my family had. Our waiter was an affable fellow named Armando who is one of those servers that, as any good waiter does, is truly attentive to your whims and instinctively anticipates what you may want and he was perfect at his job. He served us water and a very food delicious basket of freshly baked bread ( which inadvertently set the tone for the meal to come because it was beyond excellent ) and named off the house specials, which were all mouth-watering at hearing them but it was the rib eye steak that caught my attention and that is what I ordered and also a ginger beer as well ( Fever Tree no doubt about it ). My family also ordered their food and then we waited for what what it seemed was an eternity for our meal to come. After about 40 minutes our meals came and they did not disappoint, from presentation to the flavor, taste and consistency of it all. I honestly don't remember eating my meal because it was done in 5 minutes... yes. it was that good and beyond delicious! I remember the steak was tender, juicy, grilled perfectly, the gravy was hearty and robust. the vegetables were cooked right ( fresh and tangy ) and the mashed potatoes were oh so fluffy and creamy. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal to the fullest and I left no food on my plate. This was a meal that was pretty epic for what it was and I was throughly satisfied. I ordered a tiramisu for dessert to take home and I'm sure it will be as good as the meal I had at the restaurant.
