Great place to get crispy, thin slice pizza with an array of unique and tasty flavors. In addition to do basics like pepperoni or margherita, there are specialties like the al pastor, penne chicken, mac n cheese, etc. Also, they have a ton of vegan options including vegan versions of some of their classics. My brother and I were starving so we stopped by one night and got a slice of bbq chicken and the penne chicken. The slices were thrown in the oven and baked just right: browned and crispy underneath, but still able to taste the sweetness of the tomatoes on top. The bbq has a fair portion of chicken pieces and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet from the sauce. The penne pasta slice did a great job capturing the taste of a bowl of cheesy pasta- a light cream sauce, breaded chicken, and Parmesan cheese sprinkles. Both were good but I liked the bbq more, although I think that just boils down to personal preference. All in all, good place to get some tasty and interesting pizza. At ~$4.50 slice, it could be cheaper but I was still satisfied. I didn't try the drinks, but they have a respectable beer selection as well as a $9 special that sounds like a great deal (1 slice, a can of PBR, and a shot!) read more

Ahh this spot is so much fun! Their pizza options are super eclectic and interesting with specials such as Elote pizza, Al Pastor Pizza and Mac N Cheese Pizza. They also have several vegan options which is wonderful. I enjoyed a PBR, shot of vodka and a slice of Mac N Cheese for $9. First lets agree that there is no such thing as BAD PIZZA!! Just Good Pizza and GREAT PIZZA!! I'm going to need to order from Dimos again before I can decide and here's why... I'm an east-coaster when it comes to my pizza. I like it in triangle form, I want to fold it, I want the crust to have a crisp-chew to it and my toppings to accent the pizza but not overwhelm the flavor to the point it feels like I'm eating something that requires a fork and knife. With that said, a couple friends and I wanted something different and we had their BBQ Chicken Pizza. We chose Dimo's as they have GREAT reviews highlighting this pizza in particular. It arrived FAST! ((our delivery driver was awesome and came in on her bike)) The pizza was HUGE! ((the large is plenty for 4 or more)) The price was FAIR! ((compared to what you get from others in the area)) TBH this place reminds me of a nicer "Dantes Inferno" which I'm still heart broken they closed their location near me. So what was it that threw off my experience?? Well the BBQ Chicken Pizza comes with ranch on top and that flavor totally overpowered the BBQ Sauce and the other toppings. With that said, I like their style of pizza and want to give them another try with something more traditional. If you do decide to go with the BBQ Chicken Pizza, I'd recommend asking for the ranch on the side so you can DIP and control the flavor as it really does overpower all the other flavors. And NO.... I tried to come here for lunch today, about 5 minutes before I am writing this. I waited for about 10 Minutes. Nobody came to wait on me. About 5 minutes in, the woman in the back told me that someone should be out shortly. A panhandler came in, but nobody came out. After 5 more minutes I told her that I gave up. She walked to the back, presumably to find someone. I don't know. My first visit to this Dimo's. I am a big fan of the Lakeview location, and here in Wicker Park they are serving the same delicious slices with a smile. And here there is much more seating. Yesterday I devoured an elote slice and a "Dad Bod" slice (barbecue pulled pork plus a bunch of other goodies), both of which are among the best Dimo's slices I've ever had, which is saying A LOT. Pizza was way smaller than 20", see attached photo with tape measure! I order from here at least once a month and never had an issue. The last time I ordered, the pizza I normally get was way smaller than the 20" pizza they advertised. I wrote a pleasant email saying I hope this was a one time error and that I wanted to bring it to their attention. No response. I waited 10 days before coming here in hopes of someone from their organization acknowledging a customer that is displeased. Coming from the restaurant industry for 20 years myself, and being in charge of responding to social media posts and emails, this is just wrong. Don't neglect your customers for too long or they will go elsewhere and not come back. If a customer of yours takes the time to write an email saying your pizza is 17.5" and not 20" it's because they care. I hope your organization sees this and pays a bit more attention to the people that help support their business, or more accurately, who used to support their business. read more

For sure this place has 5 star pizza. Jeremy C who is a big fan of the New York style loved the pepperoni. I opted for the Mac and cheese which was also really good. I tried one of their specialty ones as well, the Pepperoni 2 Electric Bugaloo which had pepperoni, ricotta, basil, and their homemade orange habanero honey. It was so intriguing I had to try it! I really loved it, the flavors were so unique. Seating was a little difficult to come by as there was a large birthday party that night, we had to wait a little and stake out a spot. Also one small hitch of the evening, while we were waiting for the pizza and holding a seat, they called out our order and someone just took it. They for sure did not have the same order as us, and they literally just grabbed it. A little confused and flabbergasted we let them know, and they were apologetic and heated up more slices for us, but I think it might be helpful to have a better ordering/pickup system to prevent that from happening. Regardless, pizza was delicious. I'll always remember my first slice of Dimo's I had at an event a while ago. It was super memorable, and I love that they have such unique topping combinations! I don't eat pizza when I go out. It has nothing to do with whether I like pizza or not - in fact, I love pizza. I grew up just outside of NYC where I think they have the greatest pizza in the world. Having lived in Chicagoland since the mid-1980s, I learned to like Chicago style pizza. But, in my 20s I developed an allergy to milk. Thus, no milk, cheese, butter, margarine, ice cream... you get the picture. It sucks. Dimo's offers vegan options for pizza. When you order a vegan slice, they use Daiya soy cheese instead of mozzarella. Having tried about every cheese substitute on the market, Daiya is probably among the best. Now, being a pizza traditionalist I grew up on cheese, pepperoni, sausage and peppers and the like. But, here, I had two slices. One was barbequed seitan (a meat substitute) and one mac and cheese slice. I found both very good - the barbeque was a little sweet for me, but the mac and cheese. Wow! Only improvements id recommend is a different vegan sausage (their current one is not sausage in the slightest, just flavorless crumbles that are maybe tofu?) and ditching the daiya vegan cheese (imo the worst vegan cheese, like flavorless rubber) and doing a housemade soft vegan cheese either soy or nut based. They have a decent selection of options available on display for you to choose from Mac N Cheese to Chicken and Waffles. I ended up getting the latter. The first time I went to Dimo's, I had the elotes and the buffalo/bleu cheese chicken pizza. Both were great, but you could tell that it had been sitting out there for a while. I went for second time at night, where there were drunk people, people pre-gaming with pizza before they went out, etc. The employee looked like she was a bit out of it which worried us (she barely washed her hands after sweeping the floor before grabbing the pizza for the customers) (in my friend's defense, all the germs would have been killed in the oven...).
