Ate here around 8:30 on a Friday night. They were about as busy around the buffet as I've seen before. They seemed to be having a difficult time keeping up with demand as several trays were empty or picked through whenever I'd be up there. I walked by the gyro meat several times, and there were just scraps available. Other people seemed to be showing their displeasure as well. We ate here because we had a family of 7 and eat with their own food restrictions. The food was delicious and there was a huge selection. I was able to eat lots of vegan/vegetarian. My husband who has a gluten sensitivity found plenty of food. The picky kids all enjoyed their meals also. It was a hit! This is the second time I've been to this location. I didn't have a good experience the first time, but decided to give it another try hoping the first time was a one-off. The inside is pretty clean and for the most part the food tasted good. It's buffet, so there is no table service. Nobody came by at all to collect empty plates. As with the first visit, I became very ill shortly afterwards. I'm not sure what it was, but ate mostly gyro meat, kebabs, lamb shank, meatballs and hummus. Tried one piece of fried fish and one fried chicken wing. This is the first Mediterranean place I've been to where I've had this bad reaction to the food. Title: Rude service, missing items, wasted trip and the most humiliating experience for buying food from Dimassi's: I ordered a large hummus from Dimassi's through Postmates and their Postmates menu clearly says it comes with four pita breads. The driver showed up with only the hummus and explained the restaurant hadn't provided any pita. When I phoned the restaurant, the person who answered said the only way to get the missing bread was to drive over myself--no apology, no offer to redeliver. He did promise "a free meal next time," but that didn't help me in the moment. So I paused my work, drove ~20 minutes, and walked in with my receipt in hand. The employee at the counter looked me up and down, scolded me for arriving "too early," and claimed pita wasn't included because it wasn't printed on the receipt. I showed him the Postmates menu on my phone and even took a screenshot. Only then did he grudgingly hand over the pita--and he snatched the receipt back from me while doing it. In the end, I spent nearly $20 (item, fees, taxes, tip) for a $9 dish, plus my own gas and time, and was treated disrespectfully the entire way. I won't be ordering from this Dimassi's again, and I'd urge anyone who values basic courtesy--and receiving the food you actually paid for--to think twice. read more

I've been to Dimassi's in Irving several times for lunch and loved it, so I decided to introduce a buddy to Dimassi's and there is one near me in Plano, so I decided to give it a shot on a Saturday night. Upon entering we were confused. There was nobody on staff anywhere near the door, no signs with direction. We just stood there for awhile until a patron told us to just grab a plate, fill it up and find a table. There is quite a bit more options at this location. Not sure if it was because it was dinner or what, but man what a great buffet for a reasonable price. I absolutely loved the variety. Now on to what I didn't like. I don't blame the restaurant, I blame the patrons. This place was a madhouse. I'm not sure if it's just different cultures have different parenting styles, but I'll never go back to any Dimassi's for dinner. There were so many kids just running up and down the isles screaming, crying, laughing, falling, pushing each other. Everyone was just ignoring them like this was normal. I couldn't get out of that place quick enough. I was angry at all of these parents for allowing their children to treat the restaurant as a playground. This is one of the best Mediterranean buffets in the metro area. We went from our work including vegetarian friends and everybody loved it. They have plenty of choices you can choose from. Even vegetarians have a lot of dishes to choose from seasoned potatoes, fried cauli flowers, okra, falafel spinach etc. Everything looked fresh and healthy. I came for dinner with my husband and it was $13.85 per person. Very decently priced for a Mediterranean buffet! They have all the typical Mediterranean food items you can think of and I particularly enjoyed the wide variety of hummus selections, various dips, and their salad options to choose from. They also have a variety of veggie and meat options and you can also order a lamb shank on request. The lamb shank was super tender and fell off the bone. Definitely try it out! Their lamb gyro meat was also very delicious and tender. They also had a few dessert selections to choose from including baklava, which was good. The only downside to this place was their pita bread. It was super small and doughy inside as I prefer them to be larger and a little bit more dry and crisp. The highlights for me were absolutely the baba ganoush, hummus, dolmas, beef and lamb gyro Slices, the various dips, lamb shank, curry chicken, and the cucumber and cabbage salad. The dolmas were so freaking fresh I stuffed my face with 4 of them in one sitting! Clearly, they do some items far better than others.
