They use to have so more options at Dim Sum King. I can definitely tell the difference. There's some dim sum here and entrees, but nothing very eye catching to me as before. I ordered the eggplant stuffed with shrimp dim sum. That was my fave. The crab Rangoon was quite small and lacking of filling and flavor. My husband has the beef chow fun and we have definitely had better and tiny pieces of protein for the price was not worth it. Also had the shrimp with black bean sauce and it was definitely very basic. Service was still pretty good. Food definitely not what it used to be to be.

I came here with my teammates, and the servers were amazing to be able to quickly host a large party. The space was decent with lots of seating and overall fast service. The food was okay, I think it was a little lacking in flavor/freshness as I would like, but I had a good time enjoying with friends.

Slamming in dishes two feet from our table!!! She refused to move it!!!

Stopped here for lunch. Ordered the Mongolian Beef and my son the Wonton Soup. The lunches are $10-$12 including a beverage. Excellent deal!! Good size portions and very good quality. Service was great. Interior is plain but clean.

Ambiance: A sit down Chinese restaurant that isn't a buffet, unique! Service: Very kind, helpful and quick! Service with a smile and no complaints with our to-go order. Food: It's the prices that did it for me in this review! I got the general tso's chicken and wanted fried rice to go with it and that would have been nearly $30 alone! Must have some high rent $ being so close to UTC mall. So I just got the chicken with a side of broccoli for about $20. The food wasn't anything special especially for the price, still looking for the best general Tso's chicken in Sarasota.

Nice quiet place with great food and service. We ordered several things: walnut chicken, beef and baby bok choy, red pork, shrimp/pork and chicken shu mai, and beef ribs. All tasted great! Will come back again :)

Really like this place wished they were down here in the Gulf Gate area! Ordered the SS Chicken, Scallion Pancake, and House Fried Rice. The SS Chicken are perfectly portioned sizes and FRESH!!

What a gem!!! This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Sarasota by far!! I'm used to eating good authentic Chinese food in NYC, and this is the inly place here that is just as good! Yes, JUST AS GOOD! Staff are super friendly, and the there is a great selection of food. It does get a bit packed in the dining room sometimes, but there's a reason for that! Show your support for this solid local Chinese restaurant. Trust me, you will enjoy it. You can thank me later! :) Stay Fresh Mother Fooders :p

The dim sum is very good, but the things that are made from their menu are just mediocre.

The food was just as good as when on a cart going up and down the isles. But everything came out at different times.

The best dim sum in the area; even their fried rice and orange chicken is very good. Our place to go for dim sum.

This place is fine. Not good. Not bad. Fine. Was there on a…read moreSaturday night. Not crowded. Good service. Was seated in a "private booth"; a great concept but the curtains need to be washed and booths with slots behind each bench isn't private. The food was rather flavorless. The brown ginger sauce was light whitish and there was no ginger. The chicken was ample. The cashews were a tad sparse. They don't use vegetables beyond broccoli and squash. Rice is extra and the amount of rice doesn't match the size or the food portion. The beef dish had mushrooms but had the same issues I had; lack of vegetables, flavor and rice. And although its an American thing, no fortune cookie. The portion was fine. The price ok (if they had vegetables and rice). For Sarasota Chinese food it was fine, but that is really a very low bar.

We have:  ~ Bell pepper with beef ~ Rice plate w/ pork & steamed chicken leg  A huge portion, from wine to food. I'm dying for the boxed Cantonese BBQ lunch盒饭, for dinner this time. I jokingly call it the most popular peasant's lunch. Victoria's: cha sui 叉烧 is very lean  the steamed chicken leg 白切鸡 bone in is likely from the freezer: the massive portion of ginger and scallion on top is the best part. It comes with fried rice; white rice is extra - a little unconventional. the four florets of broccoli are firm & fresh I added extra sausage 腊肠, which isn't Cantonese, more like Taiwanese, fat and sweet They offer us a booth that is equipped with a call button. A plate of fried peanuts is on the house, even they've it on the menu.  We haven't ordered bell pepper in a restaurant since the last time in Miami with mouled bellpepper at Helen Huang's Mandarin House in Miami nearly two years prior. Generous cut with a generous portion. Sticky floor; spacious bathroom; an out door section. Our server is a kid who reminds me of pianist Lang Lang.

Our party of 3 was seated at a comfortable booth and our request for oolong tea and iced water was quickly filled. The menu is extensive but we had no problem choosing. Who could not resist the colorful dim sum platter which looked like a bouquet of flowers served in a traditional bamboo steamer? The exquisitely prepared dumplings tasted as good as they looked. My mother relished her bowl of shrimp wonton soup. The wontons were so large that she cut them into bite-sized portions on a small plate! She also ordered the vegetable fried rice which was impressive, filled with very fresh pieces of broccoli and other veggies. My sister had the bowl of seafood tom yum soup and loved it. With medium spice, it was perfect for her taste. The bowl is huge so expect to take half of it home! I've always been interested in Singapore noodles so that is what I ordered, and was not disappointed. The shrimp were plentiful and the medium-spiced curry sauce was delightful. Thanks to generous portions, all 3 of us will be enjoying leftovers the next day. Do yourself a favor and come out for this restaurant. If you like fresh, excellently prepared Cantonese-style food that is beautifully presented by a helpful staff, and that is a good value for the money, you need to treat yourself to a meal here at Ginger Dim Sum. We'll be coming back.

All the food and drinks are absolutely delicious…read more I didn't realize they have a different menu on the weekends than they do on a weekday. I've been looking at weekday menus, so I inadvertently brought us on the weekend when the menu was different and didn't have things my kids would eat. However, my husband and I really enjoyed the food. I tried a Matcha latte with oat milk and Ube cold foam. It is amazing, no notes. I would get it every single time. We also tried their soup, dumplings, steamed chicken dumplings, pickled vegetable side, pork bun, and shrimp and pork bun. I can't eat the buns since I don't eat pork, but everything else was amazing. One of my sons did end up choosing a chocolate croissant so I tried a little and it was very good as well. This isn't your grocery store croissant. It was buttery and flaky with a good amount of chocolate. Inside is filled with eclectic decor, and you can purchase the art on the wall. Everyone who worked here was very friendly. They have a small parking lot out front, but this place isn't around a ton of other things so I would assume parking is no problem. If I lived closer, I would come back for the Matcha latte alone. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.
