The warning signs were all there. There are the two tables in the waiting area with 7 chairs & boxes of restaurant related inventory stacked up in the corner. Extremely pathetic & almost humorous, if it wasn't so sad. The sweet & sour chicken was actually not horrible and was close to being edible. The "refried rice" was definitely NOT edible as was the so called "egg roll". This is the second Chinese place in the Bradenton area we've tried. Last night was an "I don't want to cook" night, and on those nights, who doesn't love Chinese? It's quick, cheap, and generally pretty foolproof. We ordered a dish of chicken lo mein, pork fried rice, and some pork egg rolls. The lo mein was to die for! Plenty of sauce and seasoning, and super tasty chicken. The egg rolls were also excellent. The fried rice left a little to be desired- it leaned a little on the dry side. Short version: would 100% come back for that lo mein, but next time, we'll try other dishes on the menu besides the pork fried rice. read more

Consistently good Chinese takeout. Knowing what to order is beneficial, but it's hard to find weaknesses in this menu. Shrimp egg rolls are house made and always taste fresh; opt for them over the traditional egg roll. Good krab rangoon w/ sweet & sour. Same for the boneless spare ribs. Interior is nothing to look at (worn out & a bit dirty) so recommend take-out. Ordered Singapore Mei Fun, a side egg roll, & a special combination platter of Orange Chicken. Singapore Mei Fun was spicy, as it should be, but with more curry flavor than we are used to. The chicken in the Orange Chicken was tender, very tasty, however, there were huge pieces of orange peeling that were impossible to chew because they were so big. The rice that came with the dish was flavorless & did not have many additional ingredients added to it. Golden wok is a gREat luncheon or fast Chinese joint. I have had the General Chows chicken for both lunch and dinner. It does not disappoint . The portions are large and the food is served out hot. They do a large carry out business that shows they have a solid following. Did I mention that I also have enjoyed the Beef and Broccoli special, which is very good and tasty. Get the Kung Pao chicken and wonton soup. The ingredients are so high quality in contrast to every other Chinese place. Most importantly, the meat is top-grade and doesn't have a strange texture or taste that you find in all the other Chinese places. Good service, and surpsingly delicious Chinese! I got boneless pork ribs and house fried rice. The boneless ribs were not super fatty and we're prepared phenomally. The house fried rice was amazing.
