I was searching around, looking for something to eat since I'm visiting from California. I took a chance and ordered from the Golden wok. I got the hot and sour soup and house lo mein. Let's just talk about the soup! I have to say it's the best hot and sour soup I've ever had, I was making noises in my mouth the whole time I was eating it, it was so good. Mmmmm They did include the little crispy wonton strips, and I will tell you they were a little stale, but who cares because the soup was delicious. Ordered Seafood delight and it was anything BUT DELIGHTFUL Though it was delivered on time and hot thanks to Grubhub.. as for the food: It was tasteless as it was submerged in clearish liquid.. perhaps hot water; over steamed.. shrimp; imitation crab ;broccoli and mushrooms disintegrated in my mouth... even the rice was mushy. It was ok We peeked in at lunch to see if they had any tables or whether they were strictly takeout. They had four tables and no one else dining in, so we did. They offer a large written menu, but what drew our attention were the row of photos of popular dishes above the counter. Nice photos, they were colorful and not faded at all. I decided on the Moo Goo Gai Pan. I didn't specify we were eating in, so the food was packaged to go. Maybe that is how it is always done. It was convenient because my large order container held enough Moo Goo Gai Pan for a couple of meals. Once I asked for plates and napkins, we were all set. The food was bland, but still ok. Decent spot for Chinese take-out! Nothing to go out of your way for, but perfect for when you're in the area... The food items were super hit or miss, some were GREAT (4 star). Others were not worth it (3 star). I'd probably give this more of a 3.5 if that were a possibility. Pork Lo Mein - Super flavorful but a little dry. If it had just a bit more sauce, it probably would have been some of the best lo mein I've ever had. Nothing a little soy sauce can't fix! Singapore Chow Mei Fun - Pass on this. Not enough flavor, and very dry. We even tried to doctor it up but nothing could save it. Very bland. Won Ton Soup - Decent soup. It was much more yellow than I'm used to (I know, weird comment...but why was it so yellow??) A little bland, could use some more salt. And the dumplings were a bit doughy. I'd probably still buy it again though. General Tso Chicken - Flavorful and saucy but could use some more spice. Didn't have a kick. Pepper Steak - SO GOOD. Some of the best I've ever had. Tried these folks for delivery. I was at Motorworks Brewery and was getting hungry and didn't want the overpriced food truck, so I looked these folks up. Ordered chicken & broccoli, pork fried rice, and teriyaki beef. All food was pretty decent. The pork fried rice had onion, sprouts, and egg - only way to make it! 45 min for delivery, but driver was courteous and called my cell phone and met me outside with food. The Golden WoK is a very very good place for Chinese food. I have eaten their chicken and noodles several times, and can only say that it is delicious . I had one of the worst customer experiences at Golden Wok. I spoke to the manage on the phone and she was very disrespectful with her responses and comes off as only being on the defense. If you have any issues with an order at Golden Wok they will not help to fix the issue yet accuse the customer for wrong doing. I ended up driving my whole order back when I originally only had a issue with one side item. The rest of my entire order was correct and was actually excited to eat it but again with this experience the whole order was returned and i will no longer have any business with this establishment. read more

Less than average food... less than happy staff... I ordered Teriyaki Beef on a Stick, Pork Fried Rice and I wanted Shrimp Toast, I was informed that they were out. When I jokingly said "Ohhhhh, No!" the man taking my order shrugged his shoulders like "Oh well" So I opted for Spring Rolls instead. It's no shrimp toast and was actually kinda like a microwave heat up egg roll....yuck....the pork in the rice was mostly fat, I didn't even eat it. The teriyaki beef was pretty good though... My husband got a combo, Spicy Szechuan Beef, and my son got beef w/broccoli. They both said their food was "ok" but that they'd have rather had something else. I've lived behind this place for 14 years and have eaten there a handful of times, and I have to say that this last experience was disappointing at best. Don't think we will go back and I don't think that they really care either. When I called to check how long it would be for delivery vs takeout I was told an hour for delivery and they use grub hub and only 20 mins for take out. So I ordered online for pickup using their Beyond Menu ordering, and chose pay at pick up. When my husband got there to pick it up approx 35 mins later they couldn't find our order. The girl at the counter asked if we ordered online and then she finally found it. He asked for spicy mustard just incase they charged extra and paid. She then said it would be 20 more mins, meaning they hadn't even starting making our food! Then after waiting the 20 mins to make the food he went back in to get it and it still wasn't done! It took them at least another 5 mins to finish and bag it etc. He got it and left. After getting home, we discovered they didn't give us the spicy mustard he asked for, which I had also asked for when I ordered it online, or any duck sauce, or soy sauce which I had also specifically asked for when ordering. The food was good, and worth trying again but the service sucked and don't use the online order system. read more

I've eaten here many times. The food is so good, we never choose take home. Instead, we'd rather put up with the good natured razzing the waitress gives us when we go there. She's one of those types that likes to gently insult you. If you can come back with a good quip, you're instant bffs! So, she keeps us entertained! The food, though, will blow you away! And the portions are huge! The tempura is fried to a perfect golden brown, and every dish has something unique about it. I always get the shrimp wontons. They are perfectly hot when they arrive at your table, and unlike some oriental places, they never taste or feel like they are under-done. Try the seafood special anytime!
