Okay, so the wagyu bao definitely doesn't taste like wagyu at all. Like grounded beef more like, it wasn't bad, the bread bao is fluffy which is a plus. The egg custard bao wasn't bad either. The presentation from outside was nice, that's what drew me in; as for as the food, I wouldn't come here again. read more

Good food. Nice place to sit, eat and relax. Would definitely eat here again. The workers we not overly friendly but NOT rude.

Excited to come because of these reviews. But the place is sterile. You order at the counter and they bring your your items. All food served on paper plates and plastic forks. And yea out of a paper cup. And who knows if dim sum is made on site? It appears to be one of those places where food is made in a different kitchen and then heated up on site. This is a popular spot in the heart of Chinatown. At one point, this location was a McDonald's and, later, the "Chinatown Food Court." Now, it is a Dim Sum Corner -- a fairly good dim sum restaurant that caters to those wanting a more American selection of dim sum food dishes. The location is actually amazing. The building is quite iconic to San Francisco's Chinatown. It is beautiful -- and a great spot for photographs in any direction along the intersection of California and Grant. The food is pretty good for the area. I think that many people have expectations that aren't realistic for cuisine in Chinatown. It isn't "Asian-continental authentic," but it certainly isn't quite Panda Express style American cuisine either. It is in that happy middle that bridges the gap between China and America quite well. In fact, I think that this is a good, safe option for the tourists who walk through Chinatown. The food is actually pretty good and it is in a location that seems to make the restaurant experience even better. I've been here a few times and I find that it is always a bit better than what I expected. If you find yourself hungry and walking through Chinatown along California Street, then this is worth trying. read more

Fantastic. Just fantastic. We were touring San Fran during winter as China Town was looking to celebrate the New Year, the year of the Rat. It was such a great time but after all the shopping and sightseeing we found we were starving. After looking at all the reviews, we just were not sure where to turn next. Suddenly, like a saving ray of light, we found this restaurant. Totally agree with all the other reviews, this is not authentic in like a hole-in-the-wall kind of way. This place is like an Americanized make-your-life-easy, order in English kind of place. Just what we needed. After a long day of dealing with San Fran traffic, people and the cold, this is not the time to try to decipher Chinese. Everything had pictures and the prices were clearly labeled. The food was amazing. They had my favorite sesame seed buns. I had dim sum. We ordered enough for the whole table of ramen, noodles, all the appetizers and bubble tea for all. The food was so wonderful, hearty and filling. I highly recommend this place to any tourists or locales who are in the San Fran area looking for yummy Chinese food at good prices. read more

FROM FINANCIAL DISTRICT TO CHINATOWN: WALKING DISTANCE FROM WORK Working in the Financial District there really aren't a lot of great eateries for lunch. If you want to go out to eat your best choices are food trucks. In addition you might be only allowed from your work to eat one hour for lunch. To find something close by my work during that amount of time is difficult. However there is a place about a 10-minute walk from my work - convenient because it's close and intriguing because it's in Chinatown. I've eaten here twice. The first time I ate here was two weeks ago. I had a simple order of rice and sweet and sour pork. As I've stated you don't have an opportunity to have a long lunch when you're working in the Financial District. Regarding my meal the sweet and sour pork was ok. I prefer if an item is breaded and fried that the breading is crispy. The breading on the sweet and sour pork at Dim Sum Corner wasn't as crispy. The second time I ate here was today for lunch. Instead of ordering a lot of items I ordered a Super Combo that comes with four items. The four items I got were as follows: 1) sweet and sour pork 2) classic shiu mai 3) smoked pork belly bao slider 4) Macau egg tart. In addition I ordered a honey jasmine green tea with aloe. Since I was on my lunch break from work I was impressed that my meal came less than 10 minutes when I placed my order. The presentation of the Super Combo is like bento box at a Japanese restaurant. I'll admit I made a mistake when I selected the sweet and sour pork as I had it two weeks ago; I should have selected orange chicken. Of all the items I like the smoked pork belly bao slider the best as the pork belly was crispy. Prior to the pork belly slider at Dim Sum Corner the pork belly sliders I've eaten were chewy. At Dim Sum Corner that was the first time I had a crispy pork belly slider. Given the proximity from my work and it's in Chinatown, Dim Sum Corner is decent place to eat if you want a quick lunch. read more

We waited a really long time, paid $20 each for the combo meal, and it was some of the worst food I have ever eaten in my entire life. The chow mein was cold and bland and the portions were tiny. We had to go eat somewhere else immediately after leaving here. I wish I'd taken a picture of it for proof. Don't let the long line out the door fool you, it's not worth the wait. read more

I can not believe we paid $30 for some shitty noodles and potstickers. We waited in line for almost twenty minutes which i dont mind if the food is at least decent. After ordering we sat at our table for an hour and watched as people who ordered after us received their food first. Noodles were dry, potstickers were soggy and bland. Overall not a good experience - would not recommend. read more

This place is full of tourists. We popped in here because BFF heard the place is a partnership with Koi Palace. Of course, I'd prefer to just dine in one of the neighborhood restaurants where the locals eat. You place your order at the register, put the number plate on your table after you hunt down seating, and the dishes are delivered to you. I think the Chinese speaking waitress was more excited to see us than we were about eating there. She was pushing us to try their boba tea and how great it is for your complexion and commented that BFF looked tired. Ok - no tip for you lady. I knew we were in the wrong place when BFFs hubby asked how come we're the only Asian customers in the entire restaurant. I told him ordinarily if I walked into a place and saw that, I'd turn around and leave because it means the food caters to tourists and haoles. The organic jasmine tea was really good, not over powering and not bitter, $3 a cup. Extra plates, bowls and spoons can be found by the water jugs where you help yourself. We shared: Won ton noodle soup - 2 pieces bok choy for decoration, thin egg noodles, only 5 won tons. Didn't really like it and the broth lacked depth. I ended up making won ton noodle soup at home the next day because I was dissatisfied with this dish. Shao lung bao - the best dish with 3 piece filled with juicy hot broth inside. I ended up spilling a lot of my broth on the table. Sui Mai - very generic. I've had better at the take out dim sum shops Scissor cut noodles stir fried with vegts and hardly any meat - this was recommended by the waitress. There wasn't a lot of noodles which was too al dente for me and gave it too much a chewy texture. The flavor was good otherwise. Potstickers - I've been happier with take out potstickers and even the frozen ones found in Asian supermarkets. Next time, I will insist we eat at the hole in the wall places in Chinatown. Our lunch came to $45 and I was disappointed because I've dined at Koi Palace and this place doesn't measure up. read more

Thia was the first place we saw as we camw to in chinatown and we we're lucky. We ordered picked a table, went to the restroom and our food was ready! Huge huge huge points for the staff getting our food out so quickly. For a fast food dim sum this place is top notch. Our group order about 6 different things. My personal favorite was the saltes egg custard bun and the soup dumplings. So much deliciousness. If you order the soup dumplings make sure to grab a spoon and poke a hole in it before you eat. The restaurant is open and airy and clean! The staff is very good at making sure the tables are clean and wiped down since their turn over is rapid! read more

Stumbled upon this place while walking through Chinatown in search of a quick stop for food and drinks. Pleasantly surprised with the wide variety on the menu especially since my fiancé is vegan. The employees were all very friendly and hospitable and the food came out in great time. For the food itself it all tasted great! Their spicy isn't very spicy so if you'd like to try some of their hotter options I wholeheartedly recommend. Definitely a go to next time I walk down Chinatown! 8/10 will visit again read more

More like nasty corner. Very overpriced for what you get and it's not even good. The best part of the meal was the jasmine rice and that's being generous, it was very dry. I didn't eat my soup dumplings as there was a hair on one of them :/ the shu mai looked disgusting to be honest so I skipped those too. And for some reason the busser was overly eager to take our table number before we received all our food, idk why. Great location, awful Cisco quality food... The Trader Joe's shumai in my freezer shit on this restaurants food. Sorry for the flaming review but I'm just being honest. I'm actually pretty salty I spent like $50 at this establishment. Don't tip before you see the food lol. Oh and the place was pretty dirty, I think that covers most of it. read more

As this is near by the Chinatown gate, we found a lot of tourist dining here. I like the concept of choosing your own combination and everything is made to order rather than choosing select items from hot trays. You can also choose to order a la cart. Their XLB deluxe trio was alright. I've had better at more expensive dim sum restaurants. At $6.88 for 1 crab roe, 1 truffle and 1 pork, I felt they should've omitted the pork and replace it with something like scallop or shrimp. The truffle didn't have enough truffle flavor. The sesame beef in my combo tasted like jerky. It was really tough. I did like my berry berry drink, though I wasn't asked my sweetness level and found it to be too sweet. The salted cream topping was not bad either. They have cute art work on the walls and it looks like a hip place to have lunch or dinner. read more

Popped into this dim sum spot in Chinatown because it looked like a bit more modern space than the other options in the area. Rather than carts, you order at the counter and your dishes are brought out as made. First off, it was quite a warm day and for some reason they didn't have the AC on. It was HOT in there. Made it rather unpleasant to enjoy the meal. Second, I ordered a boba milk tea, and when served with a paper straw - difficult to pierce the plastic seal. Should move to another top. The food was alright, but I'd opt for the more old school options with carts and a bit more character. read more

I enjoyed my lunch here. It's a convenient location, nice hip dining room, and a large varied menu. Service is pretty quick. I had some dim sum and some pork belly sliders that were very tasty. The only thing I would say would be that having some lunch combinations would be good, as would better guidance from the counter person, who was knowledgeable and polite, but should have told me that my initial order was probably too small for my lunch. I had to go back and order a second item. I would definitely go to this place again. read more

If you're looking for dim sum -- you won't find the authentic dishes here. This place doesn't have a lot of the traditional selections that a more legit dim sum place will have, for example shrimp dishes, chicken feet, etc, understandably, as the place is more of an easy-going place that also offers other selections of Chinese food such as items you might find at a typical takeout location. The food overall is ok--flavors are very standard. The shrimp doesn't taste super fresh in the dim sum dishes and can be a bit tough and dry. Overall not a bad place to grab a bite, but don't expect this place to be one of those Chinatown hot spots. read more

If you are looking for authentic dim sum, Dim Sum Corner is probably not the place for you. Dim Sum specializes in serving express-style simple dim sum and dishes like fried rice and chow mein. The dim sum is a bit expensive as I had an order of mini bbq pork buns (two pieces) for $4.88. You can walk into any traditional dim sum take-out joint in Chinatown and get a huge bbq pork bun for $1.50 average. I actually like their Super combo deal ($14.88) as it consists of multiple options. You get a fulfilling meal as you get to choose an appetizer, rice/noodle, protein, and dessert. The protein isn't cooked to order unfortunately though. Both times I ordered the super combo, my protein was soggy and without texture. It seems they cook a big batch of the protein ahead of time and keep it heated throughout the day. Dim Sum Corner has friendly service and the food comes out quick, though maybe not at the best quality. There is a big dining space for groups of all sizes and the restaurant is clean. If you are afraid or overwhelmed by those authentic dim-sum places on Stockton Street where Chinese is the primary language and all the signs are in Chinese, Dim Sum Corner is the place to go for a quick taste of Asia. read more

When you want traditional dim sum served in a modern, trendy setting, then this is your place. Located on the corner of Grant and California, it's a quick walk for anyone working in FiDi and you can order via GrubHub (yay for that!), which is the route I took today. I got there around noon to pick up my food and there were a few people in line ahead of me, but 10 minutes later and the line was to the door. The space is large and roomy with high ceilings and lots of tables to accommodate small and large parties. Service wasn't the quickest, but they were nice and went to get my takeout order even though I was a few mins early. NOTE: It would be great to have a separate line for takeout orders. What I ordered: Shiu Mai (4 pieces), Vegetarian Dumplings (3 pieces), and Mushroom Chicken Bao (2 pieces). All were very tasty without being overly salty, cooked perfectly even for takeout, and you could tell that they used quality ingredients. I'll be back and look forward to trying other things on their menu (including noodles, rice, and meat dishes). read more

I work right around the corner from Dim Sum Corner, so I wanted to check it out! Ordering was simple and easy, and there was no line whatsoever. I am used to cheaper prices in Chinatown, so I was surprised to see how expensive the items on the menu were. I ultimately decided on ordering the orange chicken with a bowl of rice on the side. The orange chicken was purely just chicken, so it ended up being a decent amount of food that was quite filling. I went with a few of my coworkers and even though I ordered last, I was the first to receive my meal. One of my coworker's meals took almost 35 minutes to be served, which we found to be a decently long wait-time. My other coworker's meals took about 25 minutes. Side note, I would recommend bringing a jacket here. The air inside is pretty chilly. There is ample seating, which was definitely a plus. read more

I regret coming to that place. The restaurant menu was small and pricy, which I though was a good indicator. A stylish dim sum fusion cafe on a busy corner location in Chinatown. We had lots of baby strollers and needed a place to eat that had plenty of seating. This fit the bill, although I was skeptical about the polished interior. Could something so modern create food as delicious as the old school dim sum shops just down the street? The prices were higher too. In the end, I got the deluxe xiao long bao trio (truffle, crab, and traditional pork) and a milk tea boba. The milk tea boba was not great. Not sweet enough, and the tea flavor was weak. I should have saved those calories for Boba Guys not too far away. The xlb was okay, although I strongly suggest avoiding the dipping sauce that accompanies the xlb. Way way too much vinegar, you're better off with no sauce or just a little soy. Other family members got the noodle soup, which was decently good. The kids got orange or sesame chicken. If you like Panda Express, you'll love their breaded chicken dishes. I wouldn't come back on my own. But if you need a place with spacious seating and fast service food in Chinatown, this is one of the few options we found. read more
