Also got an egg tart and number 11, which is the soy sauce lo mein. The portion is huge for the soy sauce lo mein. Definitely worth $4! Service was okay, could've been better, but there was only one lady working the register and filling orders and you could definitely tell she was exhausted. There was also a line out the door, so one person handling ordering and filling the orders all day sounds exhausting. The food was good though! No seating, order, pay, and leave. Don't worry the food is good!

Today we visited Good Ming Kok Bakery. The shop is small and crowded with cookware and patrons. The order board is on the wall with corresponding numbers to make it go quicker. It's a walk in, order and walk out establishment. Be prepared...there is a line. The ladies working are not personable and act as if they are doing us a favor. Very stern faced. (Service 1/5) The buns (5/5) were very tasty, light and full of meat. Definitely will keep this one on our radar when the kids come for a visit.

The roasted pork and soy sauce chicken were standout dishes for me -- flavorful, juicy, and nicely presented. The truffle fried rice was also surprisingly good and packed with flavor. Loved how many different dishes we were able to share around the table. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that service slowed down once the restaurant got busy, and some dishes felt a bit expensive. But overall, the food quality, presentation, and vibe made it a really enjoyable dinner spot in San Mateo.

I had the pleasure of having lunch here on a Friday afternoon. We were a party of three, with a reservation for 12 noon. It was my first time here, but my niece had been to Palette several times. So she knew the best tables and how to order. We were seated in a booth towards the back near the kitchen. There was a steady flow of staff walking by. Anytime you needed something, you just ask someone. We decided to order a variety of dim sum, the Signature Peking Duck (half), and the Pan Seared Seafood Noodles. Everything was delicious. The presentation of the Peking Duck was beautiful. They used momo pancakes instead of steamed bao. It's not a duck chopped in half. It's an offering of crispy thin duck skin, with chunks of boneless duck meat underneath. Served with cucumber, radlish, scallions and hoisin sauce. I think my favorite dim sum was the Yuzu Walnut Prawn Puff. Crunchy fried prawns w/ yuzu sauce, and candied walnuts. It's considered an elevated modern dish. Don't forget to check out the koi pond with live fish on the community table top. Free parking in mall lot. I parked on the roof and took the escalator directly down to the restaurant.

The skin does not break easily and its not hard/doughy. Solid 8/10 Pork Sui Mai - large and juicy and meaty. flavor is good and gets the cravings itch. 7.5/10 Radish Cake - Filling amount and good taste. I feel like it's missing the dried shrimp. 10/10 Ham Sui Gok - Super good! The footballs are made fresh and stays crispy on the outside but the thin interior is mochi texture. Filling was good enough (mostly air which is typical) for how big the ball was. Also the meat was seasoned really well and flavored the mochi breading.

There were lines everywhere (midday on Saturday) but Delicious Dim Sum's line seemed short. It still moved pretty slow but we committed to it. They were sadly out of the Chive & Shrimp Dumplings but of the 3 items we got, the Cilantro Shrimp Dumplings were my favorite! The shrimp in the Shrimp Dumplings were plump & fresh while the beef in the Beef Shumai was a lot fattier than expected. The dumplings & shumai are pretty large so I definitely recommend getting an assortment to share. Staff were not super friendly or hospitable either which took away from our experience. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5 (rounding up here); decent try!

Went here with my girlfriends to celebrate a wonderful dim sum dinner for AAPI month! We had heard about this place because it is a Michelin recognized restaurant and while we live closer to Chinatown figured it was worth heading down to SOMA. It was good, but like similar reviews say, pretty shocked with how comparable it tasted to some other dim sum places in the city. Imperial Peking Duck - 10/10! XLB - 11/10 just for the presentation! The waiter serves you the first one :) House Pan Fried noodles - 8/10, not the best but still tasty. We also had the egg cake for dessert and we've never had that before so it was nice to try something new. Would come back if I was in the area but since I'm close to Chinatown, can find places there too.

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.

Upon arrival 15 min earlier than our reservation checked in with hostess and confirmed that we were on reservation list. They give you a ticket with a letter and number. An hour of waiting the hostess says we're next for the large table. However, the hostess starts calling another table and ignoring our reservation when told we would have the next table. We were finally granted our table only after pointing out that they were not going in order of reservations but whichever person came first received priority. Their customer service is lacking and if they were honest in the beginning when we first called to make reservations they should have told us first come first serve to allow us to plan accordingly by arriving earlier or making plans with a venue that honored reservations. Food: BBQ buns and fried rice are good. Parking: it's the worst and really tight spaces. Cars were bumper to bumper. Recommend street parking or taking business elsewhere that honors reservations and is upfront with customers.
