Crab & Pork Soup Dumpling(6)-(6)
Ryan M.

(Hidden) Treasure! Came here hungry on a Saturday evening with the girlfriend. We called ahead and managed to get on the list for 6:30, which was a good call, as they were pretty busy. The food was great, we had the orange chicken and the stir fry green beans and eggplant from the regular menu, both of which were well portioned and delicious (we couldn't stop). We also got some dim sum: spicy wontons, pork/shrimp siu mai, shrimp hargow, and crab/pork soup dumplings. The dim sum was perfect, big size, and well filled (not just dough). We were also one of the few non-Asians there, if that tells you how authentic/delicious this is. Docking a star because we were mostly forgotten about and had to search out and flag someone down to take our first order, to ask for the dim sum menu, to take that dim sum order, to get boxes, and to get the check. There was no "how's your meal" or "can I get you anything else". I'd usually dock more for that, but the food made up for it.

Excellent place for upscale Chinese food, especially the delicious cooked duck! Busy on a Saturday at lunchtime, but we had pre-reserved the duck. The ambiance here is amazing from the moment you walk in, with koi fish papier-mache hanging from the ceilings, and the service matches that too. Our duck was sliced tableside and served on a special plate with sides and thin wrappers, and it was absolutely delicious. Our eggplant was great too, although I wish the skin was softer. Surprisingly, the dim sum was probably the weakest part of our meal, I would probably skip it next time. Great place for an upscale meal though!

Nice Chinese restaurant local place! Servers are really nice, as is the manager. We got to sit in one of the tables in the middle section and the lighting is really nice. Feels almost like a private room. Their private room seats more and I think there is a $1k minimum. Tried some new dishes today: the mapo tofu was a hit and the crispy chicken and ho fun with beef. We also really liked the egg custard tarts. The soup dumplings are not our favorite - almost no soup inside. Our new spot for family meals.

Belmont finally has the upscale Chinese dining spot it deserves, and Treasure absolutely delivers. From the moment you walk in, the space sets the tone -- a dramatic charred-wood feature wall with a sculptural pine tree, a stone foo dog, and a trickling water feature under the backlit "Treasure 中餐厅" logo. It feels more like a design-forward Hong Kong tea house than a strip-mall restaurant. We went for the dim sum tasting box and it was the clear highlight. A twelve-compartment wooden presentation arrived with lotus-leaf sticky rice, siu mai topped with tobiko, har gow, shrimp dumplings, sesame balls, a pillowy lotus-paste bun, crispy taro puffs, egg tarts, a golden baked BBQ pork bun (bolo bao style), and a beautifully crunchy rice-crusted shrimp ball. Each piece was visibly handmade and plated on its own ceramic dish with shiso leaves -- this is dim sum treated like kaiseki. The baked custard-topped pork bun deserves its own paragraph. The crust shattered into buttery golden crumbs with a taro-like filling that was sweet, savory, and not overly dense. The shrimp ball wrapped in red tobiko was another standout -- crisp, briny pop on the outside, juicy whole shrimp inside. The menu also leans into regional Sichuan and home-style dishes, with clearly marked spice levels (one or two chili icons) on items like Sour & Spicy Lotus Root Slices, Stir-Fried String Bean with Eggplant, and Sichuan-style Fish-Fragrant Eggplant with house garlic sauce. Seasonal greens include A-choy and yu choy sum, which is a nice touch you don't see at most American Chinese spots. Service was attentive, the tea service came in a lovely clay pot, and the pacing was perfect. Prices feel fair for the quality and artistry on the plate. If you're on the Peninsula and craving elevated dim sum or Chinese food that actually photographs as well as it tastes, Treasure is the move -- go now before the waits get unreasonable.

The place is very nice and airy and the hostess was super nice. We got there at about 1230 today and she told us it would be about a 10 min wait. We got pretty lucky as everyone after us without a reservation was 30+ minutes! Our waiter was helpful in that anything I asked (like what's the diff between rabbit shrimp dumpling and regular - being that one is shaped like a bunny haha) took our order and repeated to make sure he didn't miss anything. But that was the last time we ever saw him (until it was check time). We had asked for forks and tea and we had to ask a few other people to please help us get them. As someone else mentioned the soup dumplings were definitely underwhelming - very little soup or flavor. Most of the stuff, except the steamed sampler (claw/tripe/ribs) actually felt a bit under seasoned. All in all - the food is alright but nothing stood out. The duck looked good - tho we didn't get it.

Jade Shrimp Dumplings

Treasure is an upscale Chinese restaurant on El Camino Real in the City of Belmont. Their menu offers dim sum, Cantonese cuisine, and various regional dishes. We were a party of 3 for lunch on a Wednesday. At 12-noon, the place was about 60-70% full, with plenty of 4 & 6 seat tables. They also have several round tables that seat up to 8. Also, a huge table is in a private dining room in the back. The interior is beautiful and elegant. There's colorful fish suspended from the ceiling. Also, you can watch them make dim sum thru a window. We looked over the lunch menu and the main menu, and ordered these items.... - Jade Shrimp Dumplings (4) - Custard Egg Tarts (3) - Golden-Silver Turnip Cakes (6) - Pork Soup Dumplings (6) - Jade Ribbon Noodles w/ Steamed Spare Ribs - Chinese Kale - House Chow Mein ------------------------------------ Total w/ tax= $90.81 All the food was good. The presentation was well done. The only dish that didn't seem right was the "Ribbon Noodles w/ Steamed Spare Ribs." It should be called "Steamed Spare Ribs on Ribbon Noodles." Because that's how it's served. It's a mountain of steamed riblets over a bed of ribbon noodles. So why 4-stars? There were some service issues. I believe our server was still in training. He brought the wrong dishes to our table, then seemed unsure of what to do. The manager came to our table and assured us that our dishes would be correct. There were no more problems after that. Overall, a good first time experience. It was nice to see this place and have a casual lunch. I would love to return and experience the dinner service. Great food quality and presentation. My favorite topic of conversation when out to dinner with friends -- what new restaurants we all want to try -- which is how I was introduced to Treasure. Although the restaurant was mostly empty an hour before they were due to close up for lunch, we stepped into a rather chaotic situation; our high-strung waiter informed us the dim sum chef had left for the day, but after we ordered our entrees, were told he was back & able to prepare those smaller dishes. As it turned out, dim sum was the weak spot on their menu. We ordered a handful -- jade shrimp dumplings (their name for har gow), baked bbq pork bun (with a sugary exterior), custard buns, Sichuan red oil wonton, pan-fried pork & chive potstickers -- & none held a candle to our favorite dim sum restaurants. Decent, but not worth re-ordering. On the other hand, our main dishes were very good, & we look forward to trying more from the main menu. Treasure Fried Rice with beef had a nice smoky flavor from the wok, & Chongqing Numbing Spicy Chicken (made with chicken breast) was oilier than other versions we've tried but was delicious, nonetheless. Hefty price tags to match their chic ambiance & quality ingredients.

We had a feast Peking Duck was the show.... Nice flavor and the duck was so juicy!!! The whole Snapper Fish was really really good too. Now it might be weird to get Dim Sum at dinner but it was freshly made and was so yummy. The place was so elegant and beautiful. The decorative outside the restaurant was very creative and beautiful also. Outstanding service from the staff. Ken and Jimmy were great!!! We also got to meet the owner Mickey and her guest Chef Martin Yan!!! Overall Amazing!!! A Must Try!!!

Salt & pepper popcorn chicken- great value and big portion for an appetizer. Flavor was tasty and meat was not dry. It had the perfect crunch and wasn't too oily. I'd get this again. Steamed scallops with garlic vermicelli- I tried eating it little by little from the shell and I wasn't impressed. It tastes bland. However, for second serving, I ate it in one big bite and the flavors blended much better. I would not mind getting this again. Hot & sour soup- Second time getting this and it's consistently good. Seasonal Greens: A-choy- I love how the leaves soak up all the flavor stalk still has a nice crunch. I'd get it again but would probably try their other veggies before circling back. Chrysanthemum jello- This was complimentary dessert. It was light and not too sweet. A perfect way to end the meal. Service was great and friendly. They even packed up our leftovers for us. There were 3 of us and we had plenty of leftovers, except for the scallops. I looked around after our meal and they have a beautiful private room that I was told seats 20 people. It even has its own lounge area. I'll definitely be back.

I'm a fan! Went for dinner and had a really memorable experience. The highlight was the whole crispy Peking duck, carved tableside and served 2-3 ways from a rolling cart. The service felt almost like a show--I caught myself just watching the servers expertly carve with their big knives, kind of like a Brazilian steakhouse experience. I was too busy enjoying it all to take photos! Definitely order the duck mini wraps and add the soup. One note: the fried duck option is chopped bone-in, which might not be for everyone, especially if you're not used to that style of preparation. We also loved the fried shrimp with walnuts, the sweet and sour chicken, and a clay pot dish (honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them). The vegetables, especially the green beans, were incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. Don't skip dessert--everything is beautifully presented. Think adorable jellies shaped like little baby rabbits or mango pudding molded to look like corn on the cob. Almost too cute to eat.

We went here for our mom's birthday and reserved the private room in the back. It was spacious, modern, and well able to fit the 15 of us without being too crowded. We reserved 2 Treasure Peking ducks full set ($88 each) and it was well worth it. The presentation of the duck cutting on the cart was phenomenal and the skin was crispy and meat was tender. Wrapped with the warm, thin pancake with scallion, hoisin, and cucumber, sprinkled with a bit of sugar. That's how we roll. They made a savory soup broth and deep fried the bone carcass in a sweet/spicy mala sauce (numbing effect so watch out), with the remaining duck. For dim sum here is what we ordered: Lychee Shaped Shrimp Balls: 6 for each order for $12.95 - very cute presentation as each were made to look like a lychee even the color was on point. The outside was super crispy rice like and soft and shrimp filling in the middle was moist. Golden Phoenix Crispy Dumplings: 3 for each order for $13.42. OMGEEE the birds are so cute! They shaped each order into mini birds. After biting into the crispy outside, you can taste the meaty gooey inside filling. Golden Baked BBQ Pork Bun 3 for each order for $8.95 - This was probably one of the best buns I've had in my life. The inside was soft and gooey, great ratio of meat to bun. The outside had a crispy, flaky sweet crust. Yum! Triple Blessing Steam Platter Come with chicken feet, tripe, and spareribs for $8.95. It's a little small but if you want a sampler of all this. Try it. Shanghainese Pork Soup Dumpling 6 for $10.95. The dumpling was very juicy and plump and biting into it you can taste the warm soup. Gold-Silver Shrimp & Pork Siu Mai 4 for $8.95. Super plump and yummy siu mai with a shrimp on top. Can go wrong with this. Honey Walnut Shrimp $20.95 for a large order. The shrimp were really large size and crispy and nicely fried in a sweet sauce with glazed walnuts. Pea Shoots in Superior Broth $26.95. This was a big order and really flavorful. Chongqing Numbing Spicy Chicken Wings $21.95. There's a lot of spice going on this. So if you like spice do it and try it. I didn't try it but everyone in my party said it wasn't too spicy! Service was great and we had finished most of the dishes! I would totally recommend to come back when you are looking for a nice place to eat peking duck and dim sum.

New year, new restaurant to try out, new post for 2026. This was a mixed feelings experience. What was good - nicely decorated and inviting space. I think we were lucky to be seated without a reservation as I overheard the host tell someone on the phone that they were booked for the next 2 hours. Ordered the popcorn chicken and greens beans for the regular menu. These were hits for the table. Also flavorful were the pan fried shrimp and chive dumplings. Here are the options that fell short - pork ribs in black bean sauce, soup dumplings - the flavor was fine but wasn't a fan of the thick wrapper, Siu Mai, jade rabbit shrimp dumplings aka har gow - cute presentation but the flavor was off and the wrapper mushy. Of note, a table near us order the Peking duck which was prepared table side by a chef and would be something to consider with a larger party.

Got here about 11:50 am on a Friday. At first I was glad to see that it was taken over by the Cheung Hing name but oh boy was I wrong. Food - Very low grade dim-sum, maybe 2 stars. Steamed at least a day old as parts of the skin were hard and discolored. Reheat for sure. Service - It took 30 minutes for me to get my food. Wonton soup and a few dim-sum items. A party of 7 came in after me and was having a feast with lobster and noodles and a bunch of other items. So frustrating sitting and waiting, while watching the chaotic dysfunction in this place. If you do not care for any of what I said above, by all mean, have at it. Cheesy, tender, egg fried rice was flavorful. Portion kinda small, as the dish was very shallow. Not a lot of rice. Kinda off tho when it was the first dish that arrived to the table and it was lukewarm. I find a baked dish is typically always last since it needs time to bake, and is served scalding hot imo. That's when you know it's done right. This wasn't that. Suss The baked pork chop with cheese and tomato sauce was so disappointing and super greasy/heavy. The meat was chewy and had an unpleasant flavor. The tomato sauce was not good either. The shrimp wonton noodle soup I sadly cannot recommend, the filling was not good. Had more pork than shrimp consistency. I did not enjoy the flavor. Not aromatic. I will say, the noodles were great quality. Thin, bouncy, correct texture. What you would hope for. The soup was not good. The roast duck was good, with tender meat and fatty skin. Flavorful with the plum sauce. The fish congee was good, though a bit too runny imo once cooled down. The fried donut (you tiao) was crunchy and very doughy. Would be nice if they could slice it. I can agree with everyone about their thoughts on the 18% mandatory tip fee, it's crazy lol. Mandatory service fee for hk service (which is minimal service). It was so hard to flag down the waiter for refilling water, or to get more napkins. The place was empty and they were on their phone the whole time. Waiting for that automatic tip. Whatever man.

Or really any quality takeout of any kind. $90 order, ranging from dumplings to basic entrees to rice. Everything was off - slopped together, underseasoned, lazy vegetable chopping (and questionable) choices of vegetable ingredients. No Wok fire/heat evident in any of the entree's and everything was a gluey, flavorless mess. The noodles for the Lo Mein seemed honestly just spaghetti. The orange chicken was dry/old, almost no breading, and honestly didn't taste orangey at all. The kung pao looked like what my 7 year old could have made (when we was seven). More like boiled chicken topped with raw Safeway vegetables, whole peanuts, and a soupy cornstarch soy sauce afterthought. The kicker was they do not have any house made sauces, so if you want good mustard or something edible for dipping - welcome to shitty packet hell as they refused to provide those (if they existed). I'm curious what they do when you're in-house but if I''m paying for the same food I'm not sure why I wouldn't get something besides high-fructose corn syrup garbage stamped out in a factory two years ago. This reflects lack of care to the product and customer experience. Highly unfortunate for an establishment that used to be "decent" as I said.
