Sharing because this needs to be seen. From a former employee: Their raw burger patties are GREY half the time. And one of the employees got sick after she ate one of them. They DO NOT wear gloves! Steve the owner only makes you wear gloves if you happen to be weighing french fries, and that's ONLY because you can be seen through the window doing it! My third day there, I watched a kid named Dalton drop a bun on the ground, blow on it, and serve it. I tried to intervene, and EVERY other employee there that night literally yelled at me, and tried to make me feel stupid. One girl said "shit happens, oh well" and her sister, the manager just looked at me like I was dumb. And the kid who dropped it literally says "When we are busy like this, people have to deal with us." !!! ALSO, they cross contaminate like crazy. No gloves ever are used to touch raw meat, then they will use their same unwashed hands to touch the cooked food and prepare it to be served. And I'm not even exaggerating when I say that I rarely saw any of them washing their hands thoroughly. Most of their employees are teenagers who will stand around playing on their phone and then go directly to touching your food. And we all know our phones go EVERYWHERE with us, including the restroom. And to top it all off... someone reported us for not wearing masks, so guess what happened then.... Steve "sweet talked" the health inspector, lied and told him we all have medical conditions that keep us from wearing a mask! (Yes, all of us! ) So he was given a paper that we were all TOLD by him to sign confirming we have a medical condition! Also, it was brought to my attention that he pays off the health department, which is why this little shit shack is allowed to even stay in business. Because trust me, if they were properly inspected, the place would be shut down. All these pictures that I've shared, is what the place looks like 24/7. I can't make this shit up. Update!: Totally forgot to mention that the rootbeer tap seems to be infested with ants, considering countless customers have complained of ants in their rootbeer, on top of me watching an employee finding one in hers a couple days ago. UPDATE #2: I don't know HOW I forgot this... but on only my second day there, I watched a girl drop a whole package of bacon on the floor and put it back in the container and say it was gonna go in the fryer anyway. I made a big stink about it and she said she was "kidding" yet still didn't throw the bacon out... The bacon remained there on the counter until they sent me home about ten minutes later. (No joke). I'm willing to bet almost anything that they put it all into the fryer after I left. Another employee wrote: Holly is the manager Jessica is a manager and jenna is a car hop. They're disgusting. They do not clean at all. All of these things are critical fails for the health department yet they stay open. How is impossible unless health officials are being paid off.

I had no idea Akron was the burger drive-in capital of the world. I mean....so many burger joints, so little time! I was only in Akron for a couple days, so I had to be selective with my choices. I liked what I had read about Dilly's and decided to give them a try. I think my favorite thing is their location. As other reviews have noted, there is an airport across the street so there's something to entertain while you're there. I had the Dilly Burger with fries while I enjoyed the view. It wasn't my favorite burger in Akron but I would return. Stars deducted for slow service, though. The carhops were friendly, but I waited awhile to be acknowledged (as the only car in the parking lot at the time, I didn't understand the wait). My biggest regret was not having the appetite or time to stop by Stricklands for dessert as suggested by Bill P.

I went here a lot as a kid. The view of the blimp and bowl across the street was excellent. I do miss the food. I hope to soon return.

I'm shocked to find a place that was actually better than Swenson's. And the view the historical area in Akron is incredible.

This is a great drive in for any time of year. Is right across from Blimp and private airport. Has great burgers and milk shakes.

Double dilly burger is like 3.50. Better than Swensons IMO but if you are a big eater it gets pricey in a hurry

Excellent! Huge pieces of cauliflower. Dilly dogs are amazing. The dilly burger is better than the galley boy from Swensons. A must try

In my opinion it is better than the Galley Boy but I am not a big fan of how sweet everything tastes at Swenson's.

The inside is very pleasant, I'm sure my poor phone photos will not do it justice. Our server was…read morevery kind and helpful, if a bit slow at checking up on us, but it wasn't an issue. The food. The food is very good. We tried three different wing flavors. The house made buffalo, the Thai chili, and the citrus jerk wings. They fell off the bone and were delicious. I would have to say the best wings I've had, these really did stand out, and would say they are worth trying. They are a bit pricier than other places wings, but the flavor is there. What we really came here for was the burger, we've been trying every place that the Akron Beacon Journal did a tournament for to determine our own favorite, without nostalgia influencing our decisions. The burger was fantastic. The meat is seasoned well and the bread was soft and fluffy. The sauce tasted homemade and unique, but didn't take away from the burger. The pickles on it as well are homemade or made from a company nearby, but they're also very good and different than any you get at the store. I will definitely be back. This was very good on a day where we stopped at 3 places and this happened to be the last.

Listen, the chairs and tables alone warrant the lowest possible review…read more I was genuinely pissed off when I saw tiny, weak ass chairs barely able to hold a fully grown adult ass. The size of the tables is fucking offensive. How the hell are you gonna bring me big ass bowls of wings and cram them onto a table better suited for a dollhouse!? If you want to be comfortable while you eat, avoid this place. Someone, PLEASE tell me why I can get legit ass tableware and glassware but they bring the most impotent, minuscule, microplastic laden, to go ramekins for the blue cheese or ranch! REAL ASS RAMEKINS EXIST! Someone give them some, because that plastic shit is disgusting and stupid. The food? Also terrible. Onion dip - bland Apricot bbq sauce - tastes like fermented gym socks Jerk - NOT A DRY FUCKING RUB! The heat so overpowered the entire sauce that the remaining herb flavors were obliterated. Whomever thought to call this "jerk" should be taken to the birthplace of jerk seasoning and be publicly humiliated. The ONLY decent sauce they have is Buffalo. They should take the rest of their menu back to the fucking drawing board. The service was just barely competent. I get so damn tired of pretentious motherfucking restaurants more interested in a cute logo than providing great food, great service, and comfortable seating. Oh, and fuck accessibility. NOTHING about this place is accessible. Two stars so this review isn't buried, but the place should be fire bombed.

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. Partner ordered wings…read moreand I opted for the chicken sandwich. Both were very tasty. The huge portion of fries was too much (but delicious nonetheless!) It's worth noting that they share a space with Magic City Brewing and when walking in, it wasn't immediately clear what we were supposed to do. The only bartender on staff wasn't particularly talkative/welcoming in the sense of explaining what was going on or how things worked ...and the Cult Kitchen staff are behind a window past the bar. (I dont necessarily blame CK for the MCB bartender, but they're choosing to share that space and it's part of the experience so it seems like it's relevant.) We sat down at a booth and realized was a small table sign with a QR code for the food and drink menu. Below the codes is a small line of text that explains to go to the Cult Kitchen window for food and go to the bar for drinks. This isn't necessarily a bad setup, just had to adjust our mindset as it's more casual and in line with a food truck experience. ...like going up to the window more ketchup (it's in little lidded containers) for all those fries ...and cleaning up after yourself, as there is no one busing tables. Again, the food was very good but the overall experience was just lacking. It seems like it could be something really special if the hospitality and service was there!

Despite the positioning on their website it's not a traditional sit down place. It's an order window and then they bring food to the table. They share space with the Brewing company so a bottle of soda is what you get from the order window but anything else you go over to order at the bar separately. Two of us went for an early dinner. We opted for pretzel app which were tasty and a very big portion resulting in us not finishing them. I would say that app could easily serve 4. Slider special was tasty but considering the heavy portion of fries not everything on my plate was finished and neither was my coworkers meal. Eyes were bigger than our stomach. Place has about 10 (?) tables/booths and then folks sitting around the bar at the brewery side. I imagine on a popular day of the week (we went mid week before the dinner time rush) it could get crowded and loud. Feel of the place is grunge/biker though clean and well kept and without feeling 'theme restaurant'. I would say it has its only unique personality. Had we been more prepared from the restaurant's website for what the place was we might have more enjoyed things. It's just feels more 'out drinking and getting the nibbles' than a destination meal.
