It's February 14th 2024, my 40th Birthday and my Family and I decided to check out Eddie's Famous Cheesesteaks located in the heart of the Downtown Akron Ohio. I knew about this cheesesteak shop because I have picked up several orders there when I was door dashing and the food smelled amazing. We stepped into Eddie's and they had Valentines decorations all over their shop which was pretty cool and they were also celebrating 30 years of being in service, which is a really great achievement. Before we got up to the counter to order our food we were greeted by a guy who was handing out free bottles of Norka Soda which I was told was an Akron Ohio staple. Plus the restaurant was also handing out free cupcakes all to celebrate for Valentine's Day. We ordered several different subs, I had The Eddie which is the Original sandwich offered by Famous Eddie's Cheesesteak, it's loaded with their seasoned cute fries and packed with a pound & half of cheesesteak nirvana. Our cheesesteaks were all full of flavorful yummy tasting goodness. The only thing is I wished the cheese was more melted and blended with the meat better but other than that it was a solid tasting sandwich. The best park of our visit was when the owner of Eddie's came out to greet us and he gave a some free swag which was two Famous Eddie's T-shirts. We took our food home to eat it and it was delicious.

It was just dumb luck finding them by accident as we drove by looking for somewhere to find a quick bite. They specialize in handmade Philly cheese steak sandwiches (multiple options to choose from), hot dogs with various toppings, and sandwiches (the burnt ends brisket sandwich sounded spectacular). On the owner's recommendation, my friend and I settled on the "OG", a Philly cheese steak sandwich on a bun, with sautéed onions, and cheese. They were running a special - a huge sandwich, chips (or coleslaw), and a drink of our choice for $10. HANDS DOWN, this was the best cheesesteak sandwich I have EVER had. Spectacular. I mean it. The bun was so soft and good. There was so much sliced steak. It. Was. Noteworthy. The sandwich was so large that when my nephew showed up at my daughter's game, I split it with him, and we were both quite satisfied. We went back after the game to get another Philly steak sandwich for my daughter after her team's win. The owners are friendly, helpful, and genuinely excited about their product. We are Clevelanders but will definitely be back and will tell our friends and family! Such an epic surprise!!! They will be outside the Quonset Hut on Cleveland Avenue NW on Thursdays. They were quick to make our food and we enjoyed it there. They make smashburger style meat for their burgers and it was nicely seasoned. The texture was on the dry side though. The buns and toppings were great. There fries were also very nice, crunchy, and spiced well. This is mostly a carry-out joint, but they have a couple of tables inside to eat at. Overall, nice place for lunch.

I'm still giving this a 5 even though it's more like a 4 star…read more First of all, I understand the lack of consistency, considering that two people can't work at the same place at the same time. But whoever is grilling the burgers at the other location is who is keeping me coming back. Other than that, other location is farther from me, it's worth a drive. What I really like about this place is the fresh meat and the disclaimer about the meats and how it's prepare. Well, I didn't like this time around is at the meat lacked seasoning, and the meat did not have that crispy edge or the juiciness in comparison to the other location. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this location unless I'm really thirsty for a good burger. If this is your first time at this location, then yes it's delicious. It's one of the best burgers in Cleveland. If you visit the other location first you're definitely gonna be disappointed when you go to this one.

The place was smaller than I expected because I assumed it was a market due to the website haha but after learning more about how they get their meat from a local farm, I understood better. Was very pretty and modern inside with a twist of old fashioned decorative items like mason jar/wooden wheel chandeliers. Drinks came out fast, I got the banana old fashioned which was good. Not much banana flavor though but there was a subtle banana hint, so if you like an old fashioned on the sweeter side, I'd say you'd enjoy this cocktail. The food was good, we started with the soup of the day with was a DELICIOUS bacon Mac n cheese soup served with two pieces of naan (the naan was meh but overall good pairing with the soup). My partner had a chicken sandwich which he enjoyed even though he said it was pretty salty. I was very pleased with my T.F.R smash burger. But my favorite part of everything we ate were the fries! The FRIES! They were fried to crispy perfection and the batter was so fluffy and delish. They were very nicely seasoned and surprisingly had bits of garlic pieces throughout that you can eat or set aside.
