I returned an item today 3/21/26 in the men's department. When I approach the counter, I asked the woman who is there if it was OK that I returned my item with her she said yes, and then turned to her computer. She never once greeted me. I told her I wasn't in a rush that she could take her time and then once the transaction was finished, she said absolutely nothing to me turned back to the computer. I said have a nice day and her response was thank you. No you have a nice day too, thank you for shopping with us. Nothing. She wasn't wearing a name tag so I didn't catch her name, but she was African-American, short, curly hair with a pink blazer. Really poor customer service. read more

Outside of groceries, I'm not sure the last time I shopped in person rather than online, however my friend really wanted to do some in person shopping. While we were in The Mall at Green Hills/Green Hills Mall (reviewed separately), she did all of her purchasing at Dillard's, which I think deserves their own review. Parking outside the mall is a nightmare. Every outside spot is full. But we did manage to find a spot in the Dillard's garage and it happened to be right next to the door and by the elevator (P level 2). My friend tells me it's usually easy to get a spot in the Dillard's garage. This is a large location--two floors. Huge women's department with a lot of modern looks, while also some conservative options, and a formal section. Men's section is also expansive. Shoes, shoes, shoes. The store is organized, clean, well-lit. We spent a lot of time in the home department. They have a ton of bedding, blankets, towels, dishes, pillows, decor, cookware. My friend purchased a premium Breville coffee roaster/grinder/maker and new dishes. The first home associate who helped us was nice enough to go to the back and get a new, untouched Breville, as my friend didn't want to purchase the box on display. The second home associate who helped us was equally accommodating when my friend noticed the plates she wanted to purchase were variable in their shades of blue (by design). The associate went to the back and found the "bluest" of the plates and helped my friend compose four place settings with dishes that made her happy. She also bought two perfumes--Chanel and Dior. The perfume counter associate was so patient and kind as he helped my friend find her perfect scents to mark a significant transition in her life. We dragged him to every section, through every mood a perfume could convey. Sexy. Flirty. Innocent. Clean, crisp, professional. Soft. Edgy. He was extremely knowledgeable about each scent and the notes of each fragrance--like a sommelier of perfume. He provided endless samples and feedback to help my friend find two fragrances that she was very happy with. This place doesn't have thrift/discount store prices, but prices align with the levels of product offered and match with online prices. Plus they have a huge variety from which to choose. While I don't plan to start shopping in person anytime soon, I can definitely appreciate being able to see things attractively arranged and organized for ease of viewing and the availability of fitting rooms. Dillard's may be the only store you need, without ever venturing into the rest of the mall. read more

The men's big and tall department usually has good deals on seasonal dress shirts that Dillard's wants to get removed from their stock. I found three, high quality, short-sleeved shirts for $30. Not bad at all! The service from the older gentleman working in the men's area was responsive, respectful, and old school; which I greatly appreciated. If in the area again, I'll return. read more

Wonderful store in Green Hills. One of the most recently built stores in the mall. The parking is wonderful and the escalator from parking garage goes directly into Dillards/Mall. I like Dillards for the fact that the price you see is what it is, as opposed to others where you have to hunt coupons. read more

The Covid Mask Mandate Shopping Experience 7/11/2020 So Nashville reverted back to phase 2 with a mask mandate while in public. Many retailers have their own safety precautions that make shopping a bit uneasy such as; closed fitting rooms, limited try-ons of shoes and jewelry, must follow the arrow down aisles, no cash payment, strict return policy, and 50% store capacity. I still have not got used to the "New Normal" but this Dillard's made me feel like a valued customer will enforcing social distancing and CDC guidelines. I initially went in for a wallet but heard this voice in my head saying, "girl let's check out the shoes." The shoe department was clean, organized, and staff often asked if I needed assistance as I tried on shoes. Ok so I brought two pair for work, couldn't pass up a Dillard's Shoe Clearance. Shoe check out was quick with sanitizer accessible if needed. The associate informed me of ways to take off additional dollars off of my purchase, the new Covid store hours, sales in other departments, and the 3 day return policy on clearance items. I was walking towards the wallets when a bag caught my eye. The associate unlocked each bag I liked so I could model in the mirror and even suggested I put my belongings in it to ensure I love it because all sales are final on their vintage designer handbags. I ended up with two pair of shoes and a bag but no wallet. There is plenty of garage parking, offers curbside pickup if you are not comfortable coming in store, excellent customer service, a decent selection of favorite designer clothes, shoes and accessories, home goods, and beauty products. read more

the staff is friendly and tentative. but the whole begging to open a Dillards Credit Card is getting outrageous. I was literally begged by 3 members while I was trying to shop. "please open a card" "I really need someone to open a card" these are a sign of poor management and scare tactics from leadership. you have literature all over the store for the benefits of a store credit card, so leave it at that. this only pushes me to use other retail stores to avoid the pressure and harassment of corporate and their desperation for a credit card. read more

I have been quite offended in my lifetime before, but this one takes the cake in the south. as I walked into the store, one of the managers, I believe probably an associate manager was so nice to me and then she handed me over to one of the associates in the China and fine dining department. The lady was so rude and said some very inappropriate things to me that I almost didn't want to go back. So I took a friend back with me who happened to be a white female, and I showed her the lady who was very mean to me... I left it there, but I have never forgotten the experience there at Dillards. As a matter fact, I always feel that African-Americans that come into that Dillards in the mall there in Greenhills are treated somewhat differently. Prove me wrong. Didn't say "oh I'm sorry we're closing for the evening, were you shopping for anything that we can direct you to, perhaps you can take a look at our assortment online and join us tomorrow when we reopen at 10 AM". "You may want to try Nordstrom or one of the other specialty stores that are still open but unfortunately we're closing for the evening". Nope... click walk walk away. Lucky for me but not my wallet I was in Nashville for Labor Day and Dillard's was having their additional % off sale!!! I went to this store 3 different days and was pleased each time I went! Friday early evening I went and had to have been in there for almost 2 hours. I was blown away with the amount of sale merchandise they had. The ladies department is HUGE!! One of the best Dillard's that I have been in. The only negative I had was with one sales associate. I believe her name was Angela, Angelica or Adrianna. She was working in the Vince Camato/Draper James department. Dark hair worn in a bun like style and light brown skin. She was not friendly whatsoever!!!!! I tried to have a conversation with her and she actually cut me off and ended it. There were no other customers in the area so I was taken back by her rudeness. She was waiting at the register when I left the dressing room but I was not going to let her have anything to do with my rather large amount of clothes and housewares. I went to the juniors department and had the sweetest, friendliest sales associate. I wish I had gotten her name. She was young, about 5'5" wore a popular upside down hand necklace and recently had broken up with her boyfriend. Saturday morning I went back for round 2 since I had thought all night about a dress I did not get. I had passed by so many treasures and had Lloyd in housewares check me out. He was a delight and also friendly. Monday I came back and I tell you this place seemed to have more departments that I had not seen on the last 2 visits. I saw the original rude lady and avoided her. It was not exactly like she approached me though. I could not help but overhear her go up to the young, tall, beautiful dark skin assistant working in the Free People department with a customer and say she needed to help her since she was going on her break right in front of the customer. So it confirmed that Friday she was not having a bad day but was just not a person that perhaps should be working in retail. I seemed out Lloyd again when I checked out since he had been so nice Saturday. I just wish my Dillard's in Ft Lauderdale was anywhere as nice as this location. There were brands that I had never even heard or had seen. The store is neat and well organized. If a manager reads this I do hope they will seek out and recognize the positive sales associates named and described in this review and perhaps speak to the one and have her retrained. read more

I decided to stop in here and exchange some shoes I had bought at another link in this chain. The staffer who handled the transaction was friendly and helpful, and processed the exchange very quickly. The exchange done, I set out to leave the store, but then I saw the clearance racks... Thirty minutes later, after tearing through all those shoes like a kid in a candy store, I brought my loot to the register to pay the freight; I was one VERY happy camper after spending time in this store :-) Tip: The whole time I was digging through the racks, several sales associates came by and all offered to help me; that's the kind of customer service that makes people happy. read more

i ordered a mac duggal gown for my sons wedding and called to see if i could return the item. it is 10 days passed their return policy and they will not take the return. item has tags on it it and has never been worn as my sons wedding is not til October 2023. It cost me a nice penny $600 plus tax. Not even offered a store credit. i thought this was a good store that had good policies and a good reputation . i guess not. My review is only for the formal dress department. I went to Dillard's in the Mall at Green Hills to find a fancy dress for a formal wedding in San Franciso. I already have a black, simple dress for the rehearsal dinner, and wanted something with a different shape and color for the Big Day itself. I'd stopped at Panagea and Posh and a few other Nashville boutiques before hitting the mall, and was getting a little worried I wouldn't find anything. Luckily, I stumbled into Dillards, because they have a really great selection of formal and cocktail dresses in one department, even if most of them are a bit matronly and come in larger sizes; there was one dress i wanted that did not come smaller than a 6. What? Anyway, there were a few gems amidst the bunch, which I tried on in a spacious, well-lit dressing room. The sales associate is really why this place gets 5 stars. She was ultra helpful in getting new sizes for me while I changed. I opened the door to take a garment from her while wearing a red halter number and she gasped. "Oh my goodness, that looks stunning on you," she said, holding her hand to her chest. Now, I'm not one to fall for sales girl swooning, but my friend was right. I did look stunning. I tried on other dresses, a few of which she saw, and she kept saying that the red was best, despite it being 40 dollars cheaper than the others. She was genuine, and I really appreciated it. So, I bought the red dress. I can't wait to wear it in front of my man. Thanks, lady at Dillard's! Your sending me away with a "you'll look like a fox!" really made my whole day. You rule. read more

I was recently in Dillards at Galleria Mall in Franklin looking for a suit. I realize that almost the entire world is short staffed and low on merchandise due to the mess Covid has left us in. However, when you are about to buy a suite for $700+ you may expect the salesperson to be somewhat helpful and knowledgeable. Let's just say, this sales associate was neither. Man oh man, this Dillards made me yearn to move back to Nashville. I was so taken aback by the mega sales that were going on. Now, I will go through a rack if I have too, but this place is so organized, I didn't have to spend half my natural life looking for a deal. As I was scanning the racks, I found two dresses that fit my fancy! First off, a $435 Donna Karen dress became mine at a mere $100 and I also have the most perfect long black dress now for the summer. This place is the jam! read more

This afternoon my phone call was answered promptly. I asked to speak to someone in Petites. I was connected, the phone rang the prescribed number of times - with no answer - and after several more rings I was cut off. I called back to complain and the young woman answering the phone apologized. I asked her to let somebody know I had called and complained about this. I'm giving 3.5 stars because I absolutely love their parking situation and the new store is so nice. Also, the lady at the Dior counter is super helpful and nice. The last time time I was in this store I could not find a salesperson to help me return an item. I went to three different registers and then approached a person stocking a rack and asked if she could help me. She pointed me to another register. I went there and guess what? Not a soul in sight. Went back to this lady and told her that I need to return this item and she's the only person I see. She finally helped me. Of course this was during the week and during the day so they might operate on a skeleton crew. I'm writing this review today because this nice gentlemen was helping me and I tried on some dresses and then came out of the dressing room with two dresses in hand and a sales lady approached me and told me I need to go to a dressing room across the way and I said, I've already tried these dresses on. She said, well I'll check you out over on that side pointing to a different register. I said, well this gentleman was helping me and she huffed off. Then I hear the nice guy trying to avoid controversy and tell this lady that she could attend to me. I just put the dresses on the rack and left. I felt like I was at a used car lot. I'm guessing these people work on commission from this exchange. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe just avoid the women's department! Otherwise the store is awesome! It doesn't connect to the rest of Green Hills mall, but they expect that connection to be done in a year or two. read more

I LOVE shopping at Dillard's. I especially like to come to the green hill location after work sometimes. I feel like they have a different vibe and sometimes more to choose from. I knew that it was about that time of the month where they have sales so I decided to stop in. Of course, shoes on shoes on shoes we're on sale. Heaven. I made my way to the far right side and started to look. A gentleman in the shoe section asked if I needed help, I said no and he lurked off. Weird I got to the area where a bunch of racks were, and started trying shoes on. I found a couple I liked and two that I wanted a different size in. I asked sandy for one shoe in a different size. She was busy and said she would get it shortly. No big deal. I continued to browse. She came back w the size I needed I was thrilled. I got another pair and was gonna ask her again for a different size, but she wasn't around. There was a brown headed girl, so I asked her. She rudely told me I could not get another size bc it was on a sale rack and that's all they had. Weird, that I had just gotten another size from another lady. But whatever. I brushed it off and went upstairs to juniors section. I stayed upstairs for a while before I came back down to pay. I didn't want to pay in shoe dept, rather I walked over to the jewelry counter to pay. Linda was super sweet and acknowledged me. Asked if Anyone had helped me, I said no. I wanted to cash out. I mean, no one had just helped me.... I was upstairs for about 30 minutes. Gentleman who lurked earlier came back by and asked if I could be helped.... while I was getting cashed out. Walk away guy. THEN sandy came back by and rudely told me I am not supposed to cash out anywhere but in the shoe department. So much attitude and how incredibly rude. I can't even.sweet Linda could tell how annoyed that must've made me, because she apologized for the inappropriate behavior and customer service. She cashed me out and we talked for a little while. You need to hire more people like Linda and less like the three in the shoe department. Btw, I've shopped at plenty of Dillard's and I know I don't HAVE. To cash out anywhere specific, but shoe depot does get paid commission. So back off sandy. read more

I just moved to TN and was looking for a store in Clarksville. I do not feel like driving to Nashville every time I need something. I was already getting disappointed by the local selection of clothing and department stores, when accidentally I found Dillard's. The moment I walked into the store, I was greeted by a very friendly sales associate. I looked around at every department, and everything seemed very organized and nice. That day I was searching for some clothing, so I looked around and went to Vince Camuto and Antonio Melani departments. The sales associate that was helping me was very flexible, patient and helpful (I tried about 20 pieces of clothing since those brands were new to me). I ended up buying several things that were on 65% sale. I can't say that the selection is the best, but associates are super friendly, the store is conveniently organized, and so far it is my favorite store in Clarksville. read more

I was probably there for 30 minutes trying on dresses and found a dress I wanted to buy but couldn't find a sales person so I went elsewhere and bought the dress Next my husband and I went to get him a suit There was a man there working with another couple which was fine but he never even said hello or acknowledged him at all. I want to compliment Whitney and her colleague in the lingerie department who helped my mother recently. They both went above and beyond the call of duty when she began feeling weak whole shopping in their department. They made sure she got safely to the parking garage while my sister went to get the car and drive to the closet spot to pick my mother up. They both stayed with her until she was safely ensconced in the car. This was after their expert help they provided in finding the lingerie she needed to buy. My mother is sorry she can't remember the colleague's name, but she is grateful for both their help. They say Nordstrom is service oriented, but Dillard's equally deserves that reputation. read more

Emily, in the sunglass department is phenomenal, is the only reason for those stars. She is FANTASTIC. However, everyone in the shoe department is stuffy and it's almost impossible to get good service over there. I also went upstairs to the womens department and couldn't find anyone to help. Maybe they are poorly staffed on Sundays.. who knows. read more

Dillard's always has great sales! Always! So, I always stop in to the Green Hills location from time to time to check it out. This visit I visited the Estée Lauder counter. I get some of my beauty products from them. The sales woman was really kind and answered all my questions effectively. read more

I found a dress on the Dillard's website that I wanted to try. It was not available in their stores, so I ordered with the assumption it could be returned in-store without hassle if it didn't work. I was mistaken! I brought the dress back to the Green Hills location (women's department) two days after receiving in the mail - and was interrogated and condescended to by a sales clerk who was certain I had worn the dress. I am an honest customer and was horrified at how she treated me! I asked for a manager to report a complaint to, and was told she hadn't arrived yet. I had intended to continue shopping there for a different dress for my event - however they will not get my business ever again. I will stick with Nordstrom, where I always get fabulous customer service! read more

The Dillard's at the Mall at Green Hills is absolutely AMAZING! The employees are all really friendly & don't mind a bit to help you in anything you need assistants with. My main departments that I go to there is on the 2nd floor. That's were the shoes, makeup, undergarments, accesories, & the junior clothing is. Of course, some of their merchandise is a little expensive, but it all depends on the brands. The expensive brands at this Dillard's are going to be expensive no matter where you go, but even the most expensive name brands go on sale here & you can get a great deal!
