Stockings are ready to be hung and filled with goodies from the Container Store. The gift wrapping paper selection is festive this year. Cannot wait until my grandsons open their gifts with dog wrapped paper goodies! Ha! Many neat stocking stuffers are on sale now.

I must admit that I may be a bit Type A especially when it comes to organizing. Sure, my closet gets sloppy at times with piles of excessive clothes but I can't turn down a good plastic bin, file cabinet, folder, or storage boxes. Although I avoid major retailers and chain retailers as much as I can... The Container Store has a hold on me. I was delighted to attend the Preview Party for TCS's first Tennessee location at The Mall At Green Hills (grand opening is Saturday, November 5th) in the old Davis Kidd location. I literally geeked out at all of the amazing organizational options here. From tiny lucite boxes priced at 59 cents to the massive closet units... I felt my heart flutter at the 2 stories of clean and refined order. Add in the fact that this company knows how to throw a party! The Preview Party was packed with Nashvillians and TCS staff who boogied to a live band while enjoying free-flowing libations and tasty gourmet bites. You can tell that this company takes organization seriously but still likes to have a good time. The president of the company was getting his groove on while on the dance floor! Throw in the fact that 10% of all sales from the grand opening weekend will benefit the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and you had me at Tupperware.

Small selection but excellent service. Would recommend in a pinch. Great loading spot.

My OCD/organizing freak inside slapped me to attention and down the escalator I went.

The Store That Sells Everything You Didn't Know You Wanted…read more I was wandering down what I think is called 12th Street in Nashville -- that trendy stretch where even the sidewalks feel cooler than me -- and I stumbled into White's Mercantile. This place is like if a country singer, an interior designer, and an old general store all decided to start a lifestyle brand together. It's packed with everything from candles that smell like wealth and nostalgia, to mugs that make you question your current kitchen aesthetic. There's leather, linen, and probably something made from reclaimed barn wood -- all tastefully arranged to make you wish your house looked like this. After exploring all the treasures and fighting the urge to buy things I couldn't pronounce, I did what any sensible shopper would do: I bought a book. Because clearly, I'm a minimalist at heart... just one browsing session away from becoming a home décor influencer. Final Verdict: White's Mercantile is dangerously charming -- the kind of store that makes you believe you need artisanal coasters and $40 soap.

This store was an absolute dream to shop in. They have everything! I will say they have a ton of great gift ideas for that person that is really difficult to buy for. Amazing shop to definitely check out if you're in the area.

Pre-lockdown experience…read more This has all the makings of one of my (now) trademark grim reaper reviews: 1 prior review (from 2017, no less), non-food related, out of the city core... Things weren't looking good. But one check of the socials and my fears were for naught. This is just the type of business that doesn't get a lot of attention on here.* Home boutiques in this part of the metro just make sense. I'm always eager to call it 'Bellevue' but concede that West Meade might suffice. I just wouldn't call it 'Nashville.' That's not an insult; it's just, I don't know, cartography? I came here in search of good Christmas presents for mom and that's what I found. From clothes to rugs to candles to tschotskes, I was very happy with the selection and possibilities. If I was going all out (and was buying in town), I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the furniture options are fantastic. I saw couches, tables and chairs I'd like to appear in my home one day. There's a lot from which to choose so when you come in, do so expecting to spend some time. Also expect to interact with nice people. For the entirety of my time in the store (early winter, late Saturday afternoon), I was the only person in the gallery. Rather than feeling awkward or conspicuous, I was greeted with warmth, offered a cider (I passed), given gift advice, and engaged in a conversation about (what else) Vanderbilt. Even if I'd had no intention on buying a thing, after my interaction I would have done so. I truly appreciated the hospitality. In a home gallery, that couldn't be more apropos. Two For Home isn't a place you wind up at. You plan to come here. But planning yields dividends. I'd be shocked if you didn't leave here with more than one item -- and more on your list of possibilities. Shop local and discover your metro all in one place. I think you'll be a fan of the experience. *That is a mistake.

Great little shop! The selection was great and love Rainey the sales lady. Very personableread more
