I've thought a lot about how to rate Southeastern Salvage since I had a mixed experience here. I did end up buying a nice side table for my living room but not without confusion. I wasted a lot of time trying to find someone to help me and wondering how to make my purchase. S.S. is one huge warehouse of home decor, furniture, plumbing/sinks and flooring options which are somewhat categorized by a banner hanging from the ceiling to indicate what 'section' you are in. They did not have a specific section for nightstands or end tables, they were just randomly clustered throughout their selection of coffee tables and cabinets. They do have a lot of really unique and interesting pieces. Their prices do not reflect that a lot of these items have repurposed wood or other materials. I think that overall their prices are too expensive for the items that they are selling. Getting assistance finding what I needed here was a challenge. I first went up to the register and they said they'd call someone from that department to help me, but told me to go wait by the item that I had a question about. I waited for a while then realized that I saw someone from the furniture "department" sitting at a desk. I walked over and asked if there were any other side tables or if I was looking in the right spot. He gestured vaguely at the section I was already in and said that they didn't have a lot right now and I was in the right section. He didn't offer to help me look or to have someone help point out what they did have. I looked for a few more minutes then went back and asked how I should go about buying a piece I had decided on. By that time another employee was over by the desk (again not seeming interested in assisting customers) and told me that he would write up my order but he needed to go find a pad and pencil to write it down. He wrote down the item on a piece of paper and handed it to me. I stared at it then asked what I should do with that and he told me that he'd put the side table on the dock for pickup and I should go back to the original register I had started at. I went back to the register to find two employees idly engaged in conversation. The person who rang me up was nice enough but was multitasking by answering a phone at the same time that she was helping me check out and not asking the caller to hold for a moment while we finished up at the register. Again, I didn't feel like a priority and was put off. I pulled my car around to the loading dock and an employee took my receipt and went to retrieve the side table. He put the side table standing up in my car and then walked off. I layed the table on the side (as it should have been properly put horizontally in the car from toppling over and getting damaged in the first place) and drove off in disgust. It seemed odd how unprepared and unwilling they were to try and help me. It honestly did make me question if I should just walk out and not buy anything. I do like my side table but I don't think I'll be back since it was such a hassle.

We found our countertops at The Greenville Home Emporium. The selection of butcherblock is outstanding. They have doors, rugs, and too much to list.

OK, other than the fact that this huge place is filled with exotic, worldly, antique-style, and modern yet affordable treasures, the service was amazing!! Someone went and got me a cart for my little things. Later, after more shopping, someone offered to carry my rug, and then my picture. And the cashiers were super friendly and even laughed at my jokes (and I'm not that funny). Signage as to where to park and a new store sign may be in order and the website could maybe use a little love, but the content, the prices, and the service were reeeeeeally great!

overpriced. considering they buy there stuff at a bargain should not be charging 400 dollars for a basic goodwill quality chair.

This place is filled from floor to ceiling, no embellishment, with doors, windows, mantels, hardware, door knobs, lights, handles, cabinets and other items. While majority of the items were aged quite a bit, it did appear that they had some new build doors and such if that is what you are after. Honestly, I think 50% of the inventory is doors of some variety, and I wasn't mad it! It is such a cool space to wander around for a bit. We stopped by looking for antique furniture and while they have a few pieces, that is not what this place is about. Even though we didn't find what we were after, it was cool to wander up and down the hallways and through the maze of rooms scoping out the goods...we really loved some of the windows and lights they have hanging around. Some absolutely beautiful, and pricey, finds that I could see absolutely making a space! The staff was pleasant and friendly, she greeted us when we were walking around and again as we were leaving. Overall, I could see the need and popularity of a place like this, especially when it comes to remodeling, replacing or upgrading a space.

Masaya has repeatedly failed to follow-through or follow-up. And they have offered only implausible and inconsistent excuses about why. Here's my experience: Having previously purchased a well-made coffee table from Masaya, I ordered 6 woven dining chairs in November 2023. At that time, Masaya provided an "estimated lead time" of "10 to 14 weeks." Ultimately, the chairs did not arrive until just a few days short of 24 weeks (six months), in mid-May 2024. I promptly inspected the chairs and found that 4 of the 6 had clear manufacturing defects that never should have passed quality control inspections. Wood was nicked or stained with spots of finish. Legs were uneven. Glue stained the woven backs. And most glaringly obvious: one of the strings, dead-center, at the top of the chair's woven back, was snipped and hanging loose. The very same day, I contacted Masaya about this. Unconfident that Masaya could provide replacements free of defects, and unwilling to wait another six months (or more), I opted for a refund. I carefully re-packed the chairs in their original packaging, and Masaya's shipping agent (Pilot Maersk) retrieved them from my home by the end of May 2023. I subsequently contacted Masaya, multiple times, about the status of the return and my refund. Masaya confirmed that they had received the chairs and promised to process the refund; but the refund never appeared, and Masaya never followed-up. Two months later, I contacted Masaya, again. For the first time, Masaya claimed that they had had difficultly processing my refund because I made the purchase using PayPal. (I paid for the purchase using a credit card with PayPal as the payment processor.) This was the first time, in over two months, that anyone at Masaya had ever made such claim. (And, if that was really the case, someone from Masaya should have proactively contacted me.) Masaya asked for another way to provide a refund, and I provided them with my checking account details, so that they could send the refund via ACH. The Masaya representative claimed that Masaya must wait 8 business days to process a refund via ACH. (I work for a bank, and I know of no reason that should be the case.) Eight days came and went, and Masaya had not processed the refund. I followed up, today, and the Masaya customer service representative claimed that my "case was still pending" and that they could not process the refund because of their "financial obligations." I caution you against doing business with Masaya, given my experience. Delays can be very long. Products might be obviously flawed. And you cannot trust that Masaya will provide a refund if needed.

Our bar is not your typical 'basement bar' and the team at Karmal Skillington are not your typical cabinet makers. I worked hand in hand with Leigh to design an "Irish Pub" that rivals any commercial bar in the City of Brentwood, Tennessee. Seriously... Any bar, in any restaurant, does not come close. The bar, named after our dog "Bourbon 'O Hayden's" is a behemoth of a bar, measuring approximately 15ft in length by 10.5ft deep. It's built from a combination of beautiful reclaimed hemlock and white oak, which was used for the bar top and counters. Leigh went out of her way to source the perfect wood (even driving out of State to get it!) and she really honed in on the details. Not only did Leigh check off all the boxes on my extensive list of must haves, but she checked off boxes that I had never even imagined. This bar has everything, ample wine and whiskey storage, custom drawers and shelves for an array of glassware and bar tools, two built-in kegerators, a beautiful brass foot rail, a built-in beverage/wine fridge and even a custom cabinet to store a collection of tap handles. Leigh didn't stop there. Once the bar was complete, she helped to transform the space even further with 9 floating shelves and a custom barn door which was designed to resemble the St. Jame's Gate in Dublin, Ireland. A door that has protected the Guinness Beer Empire since 1759, now has a little brother in Brentwood, TN and it's a custom-made work of art! Our Irish Pub is now the local hangout for our neighborhood and has become a great escape for my wife and I. We can't wait to host friends and family for yearly Superbowl's, Oktoberfest's and of course, St. Paddy's Day. We highly recommend Leigh and her team of artisans for any job BIG or small. They knocked our project out of the park and we could not be happier with the finished product. CHEERS!
