I had a really disappointing experience at Dillard's. The fitting rooms feel overly controlled and "organized" to the point where it's uncomfortable. Instead of a relaxed shopping experience, it feels like you're being monitored the entire time. The employees stationed near the fitting rooms act more like security guards than customer service associates. The tone was cold and overly watchful, as if every customer is automatically suspicious. It makes trying on clothes awkward and stressful instead of enjoyable. Retail is supposed to be about customer service and comfort -- not feeling policed while you shop. Definitely not the experience I expect from a department store like this. I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

This place is located at the old Lewisville Vista Ridge mall. A warning, you can't enter the mall from here, you'd have to drive around. This place is fantastic to buy End-of-season clothing & shoes. There's pretty much everything here in terms of clothing. I always buy my boots here since it's 1/3 of the price during regular season. You can buy prom dresses for the girls, holiday clothing for the little ones, and pick up some nice clothes for the men in your family. Tip: If you plan to buy a lot, pick up the blue bins and go crazy. There's multiple cashiers located around Dillard's so you're not stuck behind crazy lines. read more

After the conversion to a clearance center I knew I had to adjust my expectations of this store. For example, the merchandise isn't as well organized as it once was. Clothes are supposed to be grouped by color and size which is convenient. However, as they have gotten rearranged, presumably by shoppers, there doesn't appear to be much effort made toward putting them back in order. It also comes as no surprise that the selection, although abundant, is now comprised of products that didn't sell in the regular store for whatever reason. Of course, I'll gladly accept lower prices on higher quality brands for some disarray and last season's fashions. And, everything IS discounted. BUT not everything is cheap! The markdown percentages seem to vary quite a bit. With a little luck and perseverance, you can still find some fantastic bargains here and there. Buyer beware though ALL SALES ARE FINAL! This place is awesome!!! I didn't know that a Dillard's outlet/clearance store existed anywhere until a couple months ago when a friend told me about it. I LOVE this store! This Dillards is always very well organized and colorized, which is very helpful when going through the racks. My first time here I bought an Antonio Milani dress for $20 that retailed at full price for $170. After buying it, I looked on their website and found that the dress was available online for $50, so I got quite the deal! And the dress is adorable and great quality! The shoe department is top notch, even for women with big feet like me (size 11). I can only imagine how much better it is for people with smaller feet as they always have more options, but I'm pleased overall with the selection. The prices are great, although some items can definitely be cheaper than they are so proceed with caution. All sales are final so buyer beware. The lines to the fitting rooms can be very long depending on the time of day and day of the week you go, but again, you can't return anything so you definitely will want to try on. I love when they occasionally have $3 sales on the merch with green stickers. I wish that there were more bags and accessories, as well as a home section, but as far as clothes and shoes, this place is definitely worth the visit. read more

Rather than being a normal Dillard's, this is now a clearance center. They kind of have things roughly organized, and some of the sizing can be REALLY out of order. On the flip side, the items are very attractively priced. Example, I got two designer dress shirts for $36 ... normal pricing would have been about 90 each. For the ladies, The shoe department is huge. My wife floated through the aisles on a little happy cloud, trying on and keeping pair after pair after pair. Designer shoes that are last years models go for cheap!!! Who cares if it's last year's? Not us! Aside from the organization, they REALLY need more staff to help at the registers. Seriously. Great selection of clothing. They used to offer significant discount pop-up sales during holidays. And they were always busy. I was there on a Friday evening. There was no one ahead of me in the check out line. Their used to be a long line. No more. Multiple sales clerks have said they don't do additional discounts any longer. Customers come without extra discounts. The store has been nearly empty the past several visits I've made to this store. Those significant sales and pop-ups were the only reason I came to this store. I can get better deals at Macy's Backstage or even Macy's clearance racks. Oh well, all good things must come to an end. Even if it means shooting themselves in the foot. I have always been treated with the upmost respect and I frequently shop here when I just finished my yoga class, or house cleaning and I smell funny resembling a meth head or broke ass shopper with disheveled hair. I frequently see the Store Manager on the floor and he engages with customers. Perks-I custom ordered a purple chair (that was on sale) (at no extra cost) from the furniture Dept. (made in the USA) more perks-Bought some Vera Wang silver platters and bowls at a sick low price! This place is fun! For the record Macy's marks up all of there prices and slaps a 30-50% off sticker so you think you are getting a sale. Dillards does not play around. They mark it what it is! Recently they changed it into a clearance center but it's more like a goodwill. If you are looking for poor service and limited clothing go there. The workers don't know where stuff is located and it is just cluttered. I used to shop there every month but I will never be back. By the looks of it they will be going out of business soon. Every time I come here I'm not really dressed up or I'm in a hurry to go somewhere. There was literally a group of your workers talking and ignoring customers. They need to know they are oats to assist customers not catch up on gossip while ignoring customers. That or you have to look like a million bucks to get their attention the other times I've come here. Horrible customer service. Finally as I'm waiting a woman name Debbie cane to assist me. But now my time is limited and I don't have time to find the perfect shoe that fits. Also there was another woman that was very patronizing to her- not professional at all. I can't tell whether it's the mall generally or this store specifically since I didn't venture past the confines of the Dillard's. Either way, come dressed like you're going shopping on the surface of the sun. They have halogen lights, and weak AC, so it's comfortable if you're 90 years old and don't like having a chill, but if you're a regular person, you will be sweating bullets after 20 seconds in the store. This Dillard's is kind of small by comparison to the one in NorthPark, so it's missing some critical bits that I really enjoy (work dresses for 30 somethings being one aspect). They do have a wide assortment of misses items, and a tiny bit of juniors (think Quinceañera). The staff with whom I interacted were all really friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the merchandise, store policies, and what was going on in the outside world. I think if I worked there my brain would melt with the rest of my face after standing in the inferno for 15 minutes, so kudos to them for keeping their shit together under less than perfect circumstances. read more

I visited Dillards in Lewisville, TX on October 3, 2011, sometime around noon. I was never approached as I shopped with approximately ten pieces of clothing in my hands. There was a "Hispanic" sale associate in the petite section, who I asked if she could check prices for me after I tried on clothes and made my selections. She pulled out a calculator. I advised her that I would like her to check the prices on the computer. She stared at me with a blank look as she proceeded to help another customer at the register who was making a payment. I asked this sales associate if there was anyone in the store who could check prices for me....her answer as she shook her head..."no." Also, the elderly white lady working in the same department passed me on several occasions and never "acknowledged" my presence in that department, even as she passed me in the fitting room. I'm writing on this board, because I work in retail and my employer prides itself on "customer service." I have customers I deal with on a daily basis who ask the same question I asked this "Hispanic" sales associate...."can you do a price check," and I gladly help my customers at all cost. I requested the manager from a sales associate who was kind enough to check prices for me. I believe her name was Karen. The manager listened to my concerns and said that the sales associate my complaint was against, "knew better." Dillards (Lewisville) needs to do a better job training their sales associates to greet, be attentive, and kind to their customers. There were only three employees who greeted me, Karen who checked me out, an African-American young lady in the sunglasses/belts area, and a young lady in customer. Not sure if Annie B's review was written while she was in the Twilight Zone, but two years later this clearance center is still going in spite of her prediction that it would disappear...and, by the way, there are plenty of "real" Dillard's stores around. A clearance center is exactly that - these are items that needed to be removed from the regular stores in order to make way for new merchandise. It's not the same as a thrift store, so prices can still be up there, but they periodically do drastic reductions. For example, yesterday I got my husband three great dress shirts and a Hawaiian shirt for a grand total of $30.12! I appreciate that clothing is organized first by size and then by color, so I can easily steer clear of colors I don't care for. read more

I had a shoe return, so when I walk in I go to the nearest counter where the lady tells me I need to go to women's shoes in order to return the shoes I bought. As I walk away, bewildered because I've returned to a lot of places like Dillard's and have never had to go to a specific department, another lady asks me if I need help. I told her I was just trying to do a return and she told me she could help me. Her name was Kathy and she was amazing! She works in the men's department, so from now on I will specifically go there to see her. We talked for a good 5-10 mins while she did my return and finished folding some clothes. I wanted to go to Music City Mall because I knew it has been struggling recently. I stopped in Dillard's, which became a clearance center back in May 2019, looking for some sweat pants. The makeup section is truly a good find . The ladies are all quick and attentive and really do care about finding what works best for you instead of what works best for there commission like most stores. I asked a lady at Clinique if she thought their brushes would be best for me, and she replied with full honesty that I might prefer Lancôme or Dior. I appreciated her honest opinion and took it into consideration . It is service like that I look for and is often hard to find ! Great customer service. Generally, when I stroll through the competing department stores, I barely get any acknowledgment while I shop--in fact, sometimes it can be a real challenge just to find a manned checkout stand. At Dillard's I'm their number one customer. Everybody asks if I need any help or would like some assistance. They'll offer to hold my shopping bags behind the counter if they see I'm overloaded. They'll even steer me in the right direction if I forget where to park (lol). On a recent visit, I came to shop for men's dress clothes; luckily, this location had a Big & Tall section. Graham, who worked the area, made it his mission to help me locate some nice shirts and pants for my big man. He selected some very nice Perry Ellis long sleeved shirts and a pair of Roundtree/York slacks--all of which ended up being the perfect size for my guy. Now I realize I could have found some bargain-basement deals at other department stores, but here they have great attitude and fantastic customer service--that's why I still continue to shop at Dillard's. read more

I am a regular customer at Dillard's and I recently had a bad experience due to the customer service I received. I was shopping in the juniors department looking for jeans and I overheard a conversation that sounded more like gossip. I eventually went to check out and the woman who was helping me was saying mean things about the employees and when I asked for a manager there wasn't one around. Went for the New Year sale and it was very busy but every employee was so helpful!!! We got taken to an open register so we wouldn't have to wait and this lady cut in front of us to find out the price. The shoe department service was awful today. I needed a different size in boots than the display and I saw 3 salesmen standing around talking and not paying attention to me. The woman who ended up helping me was middle aged but didn't seem to want to help and also seemed very spaced out without offering help when we couldn't find a fit. I asked her basic questions and she didn't seem like it was "clicking" or she was high. I at that point realized I wasn't buying from her for that reason and also The Options they had were very slim and not good quality. Went to return an overpriced dress that I did not end up wearing on New Year's Eve because I became ill. The old grouchy lady that helped me also thought it necessary to give me a lecture on why I should not have removed the tags from my dress with the worst attitude and said in the future they would not accept my return. (Although I did present the tags for the item along with the original receipt) I understand if that is the case but her tone and nasty attitude/ facial expression was uncalled for. There are ways to exaplin something to a customer and she obviously is uneducated in that field. I won't be shopping there again. read more

What!?!? I receive a gift card, but cannot shop online or even check my balance! There is a phone number on the back of the card that states, call for balance. But then a recording says, "for customer security and privacy" they are no longer providing gift card balances by phone. WHAT! In this day of technology, Dillard's is in the dark ages! This is not cute, old fashioned customer service or protection, this is outrageous, go out-of-business lack of updating! I asked a sales associate in the men's department if they carried Polo in Big And Tall, and he looked me up and down and sneered "There is NOTHING big and tall in this mall". Really? I spent a good 20 minutes looking for the general manager to tell him how rude this guy was, but I couldn't ever track one down. You often hear stories of people being harassed due to their color or race and like me, I am sure most people often wondered that it still happens? It's 2014! On the Friday of September 26th, around 5 in the evening my mother-in-law and I walked in to the Dillards at the Vistaridge Mall to find ourselves some outfits to wear for my daughter's 3 birthday party for the following Sunday. I have lately been shopping from the BCBG counter and have become a fan of their clothing line. So we walked our way towards BCBG, on the way picking up 2 pieces from different racks for my mother-in-law to try on. I was greeted and helped by a young lady named PRISCILLA. After some search I picked up 2 outfits that I wanted to try on and asked her if my mother-in-law could also use one of their fitting rooms to try her choices. We were both walked in to the dressing room ( they only have 2 ) . After trying our outfits...none of which we liked, we came out and I handed over mine to her and told her that it did not work out for me. At that time their was another lady working at the counter and they both tried to show me some more outfits in my size and similar styles. This went on for another 5 minutes and after finding nothing that I liked i walked over to the Michael Kors counter to continue my search. We were inside Dillards for another 30 minutes, seriously trying to find something when, just before leaving my mother-in-law found something that she needed to try on. So she walks into this open fitting room and I sit down on a chair outside talking on the phone with my mom. A few minutes later, I see PRISCILLA walking towards me accompanied by an African-American security guard. "Maam we have a problem and I need to talk to you". I hang up the phone and stand up while at that moment my mom-in-law comes out of the fitting room behind me telling me that she has found her outfit. I ask her " is there a problem?" PRISCILLA shows me a black hanger and some white censors that go on the clothes at every store. "We found these in one of the fitting rooms that you guys were in and we need to check your bags" I am in complete shock, thinking that this could not be happening to me and right in front of my mother-in-law. "I handed you the two outfits that I had tried on and and did not go back into the room. We also had and have no shopping bags......" she interrupts me saying "but you both have handbags and we need to check them" "r you guys missing anything?" "maam we need to check your purses" I was carrying my Louis Vuitton tote with no zipper on it and the bag was wide open. I hold it out to them to check while PRISCILLA peeks in, the security guy looks at me and tells me " I don't need to check, you are fine." PRISCILLA does not stop there. She points out at my mother-in-law , who was standing behind me in shock and says "I need to check your mother-in-laws purse." She holds forward her purse open and she peeks inside and dismisses us by saying "we are sorry" and walks off. I stood there for a few seconds with tears in my eyes, shocked and embarrassed beyond words. We walk up to the nearest register and buy the dress in spite of my mother-in-law telling me that she does not want it and that she wants to go home. After our purchase we go upstairs to the management office I ask to see the store manager. I was told that the manager was off that day and that I could speak with the assistant manager . After a few moments SARA walks towards us and I tell her the whole story. I asked her to check their cameras, find out if anything was missing.....if not then why was I charged and harassed just because their employees found a hanger and some censors on the floor! Why was I the victim? Because I was an INDIAN/MUSLIM ? Why was I searched when I had not left the store and had no shopping bags? I was told by Sara that this was not their normal protocol and that she would look into the matter but I have not heard from them nor received an apology! When two big names like DILLARDS and BCBG are concerened , you would think that they would train their people right and be more professional....but this was pure HARASSMENT ! Something that I have tried to get over since and have not. It's a nightmare that haunts me everyday and angers me as the days goes by thinking that the management is worse! They do not pick their employees right, they do not train them right and they are not sorry for their mistakes! read more

Linda, who works in the Antonio Melani/Calvin Klein section of womens clothing, is a gem. I must have walked in to the store with a 'help me' look on my face. She asked what I needed, got a few details and then pulled 15-20 gorgeous things for me to try on. Not just things at full price either. She had a good mix of sale items thrown in. She even found a Calvin Klein top that looks amazing on me, on the 65% off sale rack, and brought it to me. Not what I was shopping for at all, but it looks so great I had to have it. Now I realize that yes, this is her job and she was just doing it. That's not really the case in other departments or other Dillards. After I found a great dress, I wandered over to the clinique counter and noticed a sign stating that this Dillards will have a MAC counter this summer. Cool beans. I've been shopping at Dillard's (Vista Ridge Mall) for years and have given this store a lot of business buying women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. The past few times I went into the store, I've noticed the security guards in the departments where I was shopping staring at me and the other shoppers like we're doing something wrong. On the one hand, it's good that the store has hired security so that we feel safe. On the other hand, they don't need to follow customers around from department to department, when all we want to do is shop and are there for the right reasons. I don't plan to go back. I like Macy's as well and will give them all of my business moving forward. I have never had any issues at Macy's and their sales staff are friendly, and helpful. This was our second purchase from this store in the last 5 years. We checked out the pricing for several months before we made our decision. Hands down, Dillard's was the best price.
