I was looking for a sweater for my father and the gentleman working in the polo section helped me find just what I needed! He was very nice, however as I was walking away he was approached by a man in a gray suit holding a clip board and he was very rude to him. I believe it was his manager, I will be coming back just because of the very nice man in the polo section, however I hope the managment fixes their unprofessionalism and does not talk to any other employees I front of customers as the older man in the gray suit did in front of my mother and I. read more

Bought a Tahari jumpsuit at Macy's because it was $10 cheaper than Dillards. My wife checked Dillard's online to find it for $88. Stopped by Dillard's with the intention to buy two of them, Black and Navy. The employee would not honor the online price even after showing her where to find it. She said it is a different SKU so cannot sell it. My wife ordered it online so now I have to go back to pick up what I showed the employee in the store tonight. I ended up buying the exact same jumpsuit but had to take two trips to Dillards. Awful empowerment and customer service. read more

I can't imagine shopping here unless you like being talked to in an abrasive manner. The sales associates are so rude and nasty even when asking a simple question. And that's what customer service is all about!!! Dillard's at Arrowhead in AZ had a super good sale on luggage. So I bought one set and my sis said she wanted one too, so went on Saturday to get her a Purple set "purple? She likes what she likes". So Taijah "my new awesome fave person" asked us if we needed help......Answer YES!!. She started the search for the purple luggage. None to be found in the luggage area so she jumped on the computer to search. We found 2 of the 3 for the set, and she then started calling other Dillard's stores to track the last piece to the set. After calling almost every store in the metropolitan area, she found the last piece to make the set. I was astonished on how the other Dillard's store employees didn't even want to look or help look when Taijah called. She was even bummed in the lack of help from the other stores. Hey Dillard's, fortunately Taijah is also a full time teacher, so we know our kids are in GREAT hands, but you need to get her in management to help train your stores on how Customer Service should be. Dillard's is one of the pricier department stores and specializes in high-end brands. However, they have the best shoe department in the Valley. I have plantar fasciitis and it's easy to find both casual as well as dressy shoes in Dillard's that are comfortable or special brands. read more

This Dillards is located in Arrowhead mall is in a great location right off the 101. Customer service is awesome here and is the perfect size (not to big). They have everything you need in this store. Five stars for this Dillards. Very pleased with the service at this location. I can always find what I'm looking for and they have awesome sales! The Good: 'Irmy' in customer service is awesome- very nice and I have never had a gift package wrapped so well! The Bad: the women's restroom is filthy and the rest of the store is dirty, unorganized and desperately needs to be refurbished. Many of the staff on the floor are not helpful and a few are openly hostile. The managers all must be hiding in a back room somewhere because they are certainly not out on the floor. Dillard's is a privately owned company and apparently the owners don't care about their stores - at least the one in Glendale, AZ. Despite the great gift wrapping, the rest of the store pretty much sucks. I won't be coming back. read more

Years ago, Dillard's used to be Diamond's and Diamond's, Goldwater's and The Broadway were the staple department stores throughout the Valley (Bullocks only had the one location in Scottsdale). Anyway, this Dillard's always had a great shoe department, and they still do. This is the main reason I went-plus it is close to my mom's. I was also looking for a bathing suit for my daughter and found one I thought she would love. I inquired about their return policy, which is pretty standard now a days but stupid. 30 days in original condition with receipt. Even Target can scan credit cards to see if it was purchased there. Anyway, upon returning to the Bay Area, I went to Macy's. I found the same bathing suit, for half the price. So, Dillard's, your shoe department still rules, but your merchandise is the same as Macy's for clothing and your prices are much higher. I will come back next time to check out your shoes, but will stay away from the rest... read more

Two Sales Associates busy chatting about the texting on their phone, as I was trying to inquire about a shoe size. I should had gone to get my own shoes from the back, why bother having employees when they are too busy making chit-chat instead if helping customers? Two more sales people chatting upstairs, instead of helping customers. Next time, I'm going to stand next to chatty employees and look at them while they chat. I'm sure there are plenty of unemployed people out there that would be grateful to have the job of these sales employees that are too busy chatting instead of assisting shoppers. read more

A recent shopping trip that resulted in some barginlicous finds is why I give this particular Dillard's a five-star rating. When they have sales, they have some friggin' sales! I'm talking about 70% off already reduced items! Can you get any better than that? I just bought a very nice work dress that was originally $159 for $39 and a skirt suit originally priced at a little under $300 for $70. Amazing! Usually their big sales are during the in-between seasons -- right before they get their new shipment for Fall or Summer. Lucky for us Phoenicians, we can usually pull off summer items into late fall and even early winter. The sales clerks are also always very friendly and not overly pushy. They typically are older and more seasoned sales professionals, which is actually refreshing to me. They don't stand around chatting with their co-workers and ignoring customers -- they understand what customer service is and help in what ever way they can. Oh, and this Dillard's has a great shoe department. Tons to choose from and a crap-load of salesmen to help you find your favorite pair. Always keep Dillard's on your shopping radar -- you won't be disappointed, and your wallet will thank you. read more

I work a Arrowhead in a smaller store so before work I decided to go shopping. I've been looking for a new watch and purse since I already got my taxes back. I went to the Michael Kors watch counter and the sales lady was helping some woman who said she was looking around, the woman was flashing hundred dollar bills in her hand, so I looked around. When that woman left, she completely ignored me and started doing paperwork even though I made eye contact with her and said hello. I'm only 18 and I look very young so I'm often passed by sales people because they don't think they'll get a sale. well, I was going to give you a $300 dollar sale but I guess not now, people should stop judging by my age. After the stupid watch sales lady, I went to go look at some handbags. Where again, no one helped me even after I said hello and expressed interest. Step up your game, Dillard's. I, myself, am a sales associate and I know when someone is interested in making a purchase. The atmosphere of this Dillard's is just crap now. I saw two beauty counter associates talking about an older Asian lady because she couldn't speak English and they couldn't understand her. They were laughing and ignoring her. This store is huge, clean and employs friendly people. The clothing items range from swim to formal wear. Non-clothing items include jewelry and perfume/cologne. The items are top brand names so not the most affordable but best quality for sure. read more

Love Dillard's Arrowhead location. Always enjoy looking at their shoe department- lots of selections and nice quality. The people who work at this location seem nice. I also go to Dillard's clearance center at the Metrocenter mall. They are only open short hours (like 12 noon to 7) and closed Monday's I believe. But boy- when I do go can really get some bargains on nice quality. Check their website for items that have additional savings ON TOP of pink clearance prices . Purchased a dress yesterday for $150. An hour later while shopping at Macy's, I found the exact same dress on sale for $79. I had a 20% off coupon. Do the math. I returned the original purchase to Dillard's this morning. When asked why I wanted to make the return, I explained that I found the same dress at Macy's for almost $100 less. The sales associate shook her head, gave me the "look" then told me that Dillard's sells their returned and damaged merchandise to Macy's so I may have saved money, but I was buying a second hand dress. What??? The customer service at the store has been going down for a while. This takes the cake. Goodbye, Dillard's, you've lost a customer. read more

Shoe dept has a good selection, but horrible staff. They are either on you like flies or ignore you completely. Sunglass counter help is not very nice (multiple occasions, different sales associates). Older woman in boys 8-20 and girls 7-14 sections is very nice. She's the only one. But she also wants to make sure she checks you out in her dept. I get it...sales goals. What I can't stand about this store is how filthy the dressing rooms are. They are disgusting - to the point where you don't want to touch the door handles or let any of your clothes hit the floor. And I'm talking about at least four different areas of the store. The carpets should have been replaced a few times in the 16 or so years I've been coming here. I doubt they've ever even been cleaned. There are holes in the dressing room walls, wallpaper coming off, loose door handles, etc. Does Dillard's not care what kind of impression that makes on customers? I've even said this to the management. Nothing changes. The only reason I go to this store is because it's so close. read more

A little customer service goes a long way. I'm not sure who the lady was but she let me into the dressing room, saw the mess that was inside and didn't take any of the 6 dresses hanging on the only hook available in the room. I had to rehang some that were on the floor and carry the rest out so I could hang my dresses up. I work in retail. Whenever I let someone into a dressing room I take any clothes left by previous customers and apologize to them. It's not that hard. Honestly. The dressing rooms looked disgusting and dingy. My mother bought me a watch at Macy's that was too big. I parked on the wrong side of the mall, so I figured I would ask the people at Dillard's to just take a link out. This service takes less than 30 seconds. I asked the woman, and she became abrasive and told me I obviously did not by it there since they don't sell that watch. She acted as if I was trying to pull one over in her even after I told her I didnt buy my watch there. These stores do not realize by do something like taking a link out of watch will take them 30 seconds but they can ask me to wait 20 minutes, and in those 20 minutes, I'll wonder around their store and possibly by something. Whereas when they deny something simple, I refuse to shop there. Horrible costumer service. read more

After reading the not so great reviews I decided to call Dillard's to see if they have what I need. The first lady said oh those are all out on the shelf...really? Im calling to ask if you HAVE the one I want before I drive 60 minutes to get there. So she says she will go look. 12 minutes later Im still waiting. Someone else came to the phone and asked what I wanted. I told her I was waiting for the spanish lady to let me know if they have what I want, she didn't even talk to me but put down the phone. 2 minutes later the phone hung up on me. DILLARD'S YOU BETTER GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER OR YOU'LL BE OUT OF BUSINESS. Not only have I received very poor customer service by phone but I know how the ladies feel in the shoe department ZERO help and the employees stand around and get paid to chat with each other. UGH.
