We've been going to this location for years. The current manager, Les Harriman, was one of our first salesmen. We brought in our son, who just got a divorce, to get a new wardrobe. Les took our depressed son and really related to him and hooked him up with a great closet full of clothes. That was 2013. It is one of our best memories and our son still talks about that experience. Since then, we've been regular customers and the store is a great experience in every way. All the salespeople are attentive and helpful. We've since moved away but visit the area every few months and as part of our pilgrimage is a visit to the Peoria DXL. I've been to many other DXLs in several states and none compare to Peoria. That's why we wait to shop until we visit. read more

You have a guy in there on video yelling at my mom. My mom is a loud person she doesn't know how to whisper. So I get why this guy would feel like this. This is a customer service industry and if you can't control your temper or attitude that is not the business u should be in. My mom just finished chemo and went over there a little too tired but needed to grab things and this is the attitude she was hit back with. This is where she shops for her husband and her brother literally every month. I know it doesn't matter to you what she is going through but professionalism is expected and you have someone who provided nothing but a hostile environment upsetting my mom and himself. I went in 3 weeks ago for some cargo pants "apparently not work pants " according to the manager. I wore them a couple days a week for work multiple holes. I had tryed to return them, told I couldn't i understand that. But the manager continued to be confrontational with me even after trying to defuse the situation myself. I tried to visit this store on Saturday 5/2/21 to buy some socks. I was running late but I made it to the door a few minutes before 5pm. An ugly woman who I assumed was an employee was locking up the door. Instead of letting me in ....she just gave me a "I don't give a damm" look and walked away leaving me standing in front of the door. I usually shop here but not anymore. Great place to buy clothes if you are a big guy or big tall guys, I love getting clothes here I do wish everything was about $15 cheaper but guess I'd have to catch a sale. Clothes are comfortable and washable doesn't shrink, great quality for the price if you are a big guy with a little extra funds I definitely say give them a try. read more

I typically love shopping at this store for my husband, so I will give it a 2 star due to my in person experience with the employees there; however, due to issues with Covid-19, I had to shop online for my husband's Father's Day gifts. I made all purchases on June 5th and here it is almost July and I have only received a pair of shorts. My husband did not receive his gift in time for Father's Day, which was upsetting to the kids and me. I called their customer service number and was on hold for almost an hour, then a lady finally spoke with me and explained that due to COVID-19, their merchandise is being shipped from different warehouses and I will not be receiving the merchandise until early July. She also mentioned that one item wasn't available at all, meanwhile, I was charged for the entire order. I asked her for a refund and she stated that she could not give a refund because the order was already placed and finally being shipped! I explained that I did not want the merchandise if I have to wait so long for it. She proceeded to tell me that she could overnight ship the stuff by reordering everything again. I accepted this offer and waited for nothing. I still haven't received the entire order and I had to call, yet again because they charged me for the merchandise twice! This experience has been awful. I'm still waiting for everything to come in the mail and customer service did nothing to assist. They offered me a $20 gift card and no merchandise. Never shop online at DXL. They're disorganized, have terrible customer service reps and they will charge your card multiple times without your consent. I have had to call my financial institution to explain all the charges on my card that should never have been there. I've shopped many times online and I've never experienced so many issues. Went in tonight looking for some items for my favorite fella to wear on our vacation. We were greeted promptly by a young lady named Liz. She asked us if we needed any help for which I replied yes. I don't think I was expecting much other than the obligatory offer to help. Wow was I wrong! She was thorough knowledgeable of the merchandise, and supportive of the choices to be made. She never made us feel rushed ever and despite several changes and choices she hung in there making each step easy! We went for 1-2 items and left happily with more. So I went to purchase a tie and wanted some help with color, the first associate went to get Kevin to help me make the best selection, the customer he had finished with and was at the counter paying had a change of heart on his purchase so Kevin who was helping me walked away and worked with the other customer. Let me say first off that my husband has been a customer of DXL for many years. I think that their clothing is great. HOWEVER, on July 14th of this year we went into this store to buy 2 pairs of pants. We couldn't find his size, so the sales associate suggested we order on line and have them shipped to our home. We agreed and I purchased the 2 pairs of pants. In the meantime my husband found another pair of pants he liked better and asked if we could cancel the order and purchase the ones we found in the store. They said we couldn't (even though it was 10 minutes after the order was processed) but suggested that when the pants came in we could bring them back to the store and get the other pair. So we left! But about 15 minutes later we received a phone call telling us that the sales associate was able to cancel the order and we could now come back and buy the ones we wanted. We decided to come back the following weekend. In the meantime.... we didn't get a credit. So i called. They said it would be 10 business days. So i waited... I called back and they said it was in finance and they were working on it. So i waited. I called back after an additional time and this time they said for SURE I would get the money back in 10 working days. On the day I was to get the credit... THEY CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN!!! So now I have 2 charges... and no credit. It has been 2 months!!! BEWARE OF ANY REFUNDS that are owed to you. The corporate customer service is either incompetent or not empowered to help. Still waiting...... 9/19/2018 -- Still waiting!! (No call/email/NO CREDIT!!) 10/2/2018 -- Still waiting!! (No call/email/NO CREDIT!!) 10/3/2018 -- Finally resolved. The two women that were there today we incredible RUDE. They lacked professionalism and customer service skills. I was returning a few item's that I had purchased for my husband in addition to buying him a new shirt (which the first girl today me to do prior to completing my return). I had also receive a reward gift certificate that I wanted to use to purchase the new shirt. The two women worked together to checking me out but instead of talking directly to me one of the women talked about me to the other woman while I was standing right. She told her that the only reason I received the reward certificate was because of the purchase I was returning and then proceeded to tell her to make sure wrote notes on my account about this incident, which se repeated twice. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! So after being treated like a FREAKING CRIMINAL, I chose not to get the shirt or use the certificate. read more

I came here for the first time today, and needless to say I was very impressed with the customer service I received from Kevin. I had recently started a new job yesterday, and needed work shirts ASAP. Kevin was able to help me and another person at the same time, but it felt like he was giving me all his attention.
