Customer service here compared to other Torrid locations is lacking. Came in on a Sunday with multiple employees and only one other person in the store, and no one approached me to let me know about their sales and ask if I needed a fitting room (this is typically a universal experience you'd expect at a Torrid store). Selection was good, though! And fitting rooms were clean once I got an employee to help me. I would not recommend this store though if they had a car and could drive elsewhere. Not my favorite Torrid experience. Because normally, the customer service makes or breaks a Torrid visit and this just wasn't it. read more

Uncomfortable experience at both of the stores in this mall torrid regular and curve just not good. I won't shop there again. I should've just ordered it online. Spent over $100 didn't receive my torrid cash like I should have just annoying. She looked at my brand new hundred dollar bill that I just got from the bank for like 10 minutes. I finally said just give it back and I'll use 20s. It was so weird. It was clearly real. It was just giving like a Karen vibe. I don't know. I'm good never again. I have been to this Torrid four times and I have never been treated so poorly by staff. They have a very subtle way of not making certain customers not feel comfortable in the establishment, especially certain minorities. I was not greeted, assisted, or treated with any value in this store. On one occasion I was not greeted and the employees looked me dead in the eye as I entered the store, second occasion I making a purchase and the two ladies just looked at me standing at the counter and they folded clothes and talked amongst themselves, third occasion I was not greeted or asked if I needed assistance until I commented to a friend how rude they were. This last visit was the clincher, I sent my order to this store by accident. They took a few days to process it, when I called they had the package at the store, and it wasn't until I told them I contacted Torrid they bothered to look for it. Once I arrived to the store one of the Management staff saw me but did not acknowledge me. The other associate was clocking in and never said anything. Once the associate realized my box was at the counter she attempted to hand it to me without looking at it. I requested a bag, and she took forever to open it and put it in the bag. I have seen these ladies interact with other customers and they treat them so nice, they help them, greet them, and even talk to the customers. It's like I just have to wait. I had to really hold back the tears because it is so evident that I'm not welcome there. This was my last time ever coming to this location. read more

I love the product it can be expensive but I just love it there the only problem at this location was the employees they can be rude and mean I was so happy to go spend a couple of hundreds at the store but I just felt sad how they treated me poorly with my wife. I went in to torrid today to purchase some work pants. My friend went back in with me so return a purchase her mother didn't want anymore. She had the worst luck to talk to Elizabeth. My friend accidentally told her to throw away the bag with some coupons that were left inside so she asked if she could get them out and Elizabeth proceeded to give my friend a dirty look and said "I'm not going to dig in the bag" as if it bothered her to grab the top bag. I then checked out and I asked about the return policy and she again gave the meanest most bothered response. I do not appreciate poor customer service especially rude at that. Torrid is like falling in love with a stripper; no matter how much money you throw at them, they will never love you. I have been shopping at this particular Torrid ever since I came out as a transwoman. And even before I started wearing dresses on a regular basis, I would come here for my stocking hookup. They know the clothes are for me. But no matter how effeminate I dress or how much makeup I wear, the cretins who work there never get the hint. I'll be going through their graphic tees, even *gasp* occasionally pulling one off the rack and asking my partner how it would look on me. I'll even make the obligatory "oh, it's pricey, but it's worth it" comment. And the girl will walk right up to my partner and ask HER if she needs anything. I even did the "drape it over my chest" thing. Knights of fucking Columbus! Nope. No dice. I pick out the clothes, I take the clothes to the counter, and I even pay for the clothes. I even make comments about the clothes. And still they give her (my partner) the bag and tell her to enjoy HER purchase. Double U Tea Eff Torrid. At the Metrocenter location, they had this beautiful pink tafetta nightmare of a prom dress that would have been perfect for Fetish Prom. I had my partner reserve it by telephone so I could swing by and get it after work. I thought wearing some makeup, putting a little more of a sashay into my walk and wearing a little fragrance would, I don't know, make the experience a little smoother. Nah. When I got there, I was stared down, ignored, and avoided by the clerks. After twenty minutes, it must have dawned on one of them that my presence might have something to do with the reservation they had in the back. When I went to pay for it, they snatched my credit card from my hand and charged me full price. The whole fucking reason we bought the damn thing was because it was on sale in the first place. And to top it off I could hear them snickering at me on my way out. I only bring this up because I notice this is a common trend in Torrid stores. Not that any of this matters. None of this information is relevant to anyone other than me. I doubt anyone else has had any similar experiences. I'm just sad that something that makes me so happy hates me so much. Maybe I should take this as a hint to lose some damn weight so I don't have to keep shopping here. But when I get treated like that...the only thing that makes me feel better is a Shirley Temple and some hot wings. It's such a vicious cycle. I highly recommend this location to get the best shopping experience most people would only hear of. The sales were great. The ladies that had positive attitudes provided outstanding customer service to me and my sisters when we were here yesterday. I love this location and am planning on coming back when I am ready to search for a new wardrobe for my new job soon. read more

I ordered online and I was told today that I could not return 2 of the items I purchased. It was not made clear at time of ordering that they were final sales. I used the sizing chart in the website and everything is huge! They won't allow returns when this is their fault. I will never buy from this company again! I am keeping 1 item out of 4. My best friend got me into Torrid back in HS. I was so happy that I finally found a store that would fit me and my style. What I wasn't happy about was the service I got. At this location specifically. I will shell out some cash for comfy, cute, well fitting clothes. But I will not do so if I'm going to be ignored, mocked, or made to feel like a nuisance while I shop. I've worked retail, (Specifically Lane Bryant). I know that my client needs help, that my client will want an honest opinion, and that my client will want to feel as though she's shopping with a friend. Below, I will put a few of my interactions/visits with Torrid. I needed a new job, so I applied to this location. After waiting weeks I finally got into a group interview. I was told I'd get a call and not be left hanging, to know if I got the Sales Associate job or not. I followed up with this store for weeks on end and still never got a call. Hence, why I went to LB and they hired me on the spot. I went in one day for a bra. I was used to Walmart bras, then working at LB, I got used to LB bras. But my best friend swore by the Torrid bras. I went in looking for a push up plunge. The sales girl promised that the size and style she handed me (42C Demi Push Up) was going to fit like an LB Push Up Plunge (I wear a 42B). My best friend had warned me the fits differentiated between the stores, so I trusted the girl helping me that day. And at first the bra looked good. I spent $60 on that bra and left, excited that I bought a bra in my BF's favorite color. I now have a bra that I can't wear because it's so big. Because once I began moving around in said bra, I could fit another 2 boobs in the cups. I went in around 7 one weekday night with my best friend. She had a trip to Texas coming up with her boyfriend; Their first trip together, So obviously she's excited to shop and get some new goodies to take with her. The two girls working that night ignored us for the first almost half hour. We didn't get greeted, though they acknowledged that we were in the store. We were also giggling from cracking jokes, so we weren't quiet. We were the only two customers in the store, as well. After shopping around, my best friend grabbed some clothes and we headed to the desk to ask for a fitting room. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them to open a dressing room (for those of you who don't know this location, unfortunately they're locked doors). When we politely asked for them to check in back for a size we didn't see on the floor, the girls nodded and went right back to their tasking. We gave them a few minutes, assuming they were going to finish the shirt they were in the middle of folding, but when we went back out, neither girl had yet to move. I have gone into this store, often times with different team members working, and each time, I have felt as though I was being mocked or talked about. Now this just may be me being paranoid, but when I see a hand up to block a conversation with a side glance my direction, or even just a side glance and a quiet comment in general, that usually gives me the impression that I am the topic of conversation. I am 6 feet tall, I already get a lot of looks and attention because of my height. I don't want an employee to so obviously talk about me when I'm right there. Never happens to any of my other friends at this location. Just me. I will not continue, nor advise, to shop at this location. If you want the best service, and a store that isn't cramped, I highly recommend the girls at Desert Ridge. Always happy, well dressed, honest and attentive. And the store is always clean and beautifully set and easily shop-able. read more

The Torrid Store in the Arrowhead Mall is one of my favorite places in the mall to buy jeans and office clothes for girls curvy like me. The staff is absolutely wonderful, helpful, and honest when it comes to the clothes. During their previous promotion I was able to get 3 pairs of their high-end pants for $80. They are stretchy but strong and after several washes already still feel as new as when I first purchased them. I cannot say enough about the staff though! They are just too nice and sweet. They always take care of me and make me feel confident and beautiful! read more

There is an associate named Beth that seems like a manager and she is always in a good mood and working hard.
