Of course the quality of clothing is impeccable and the sales are amazing with a wide variety for all ages and all genders. The staff associates are knowledgeable of the selections and very professional in their customer interaction. The staff offer lots of guidance as demonstrated by their on the floor performance. The Domain is a beautiful area and offers such rich ambience to an already great city. The continued investment to keep the customers safe and secure is noted since many ladies shop this destination. Overall, this store makes your bad days appear like your best and the takeaway is always positive. I went just looking for shoes. Their was a gentleman that was very nice and available to help with anything I needed. His name was Lee, but when it got to the point that I was going to buy something. He asked if I had a "membership" with Dillars. I said: No, I don't think so. He said he was going to search for it. I was ok with that. It got to the point where he asked for my ID when I swiped my credit card. I was ok with this. In my head I thought it was for verification. However, when it asked for my social I caught on and I asked if this was for a "Credit Card". He said: "Yes". I quickly, said "No, no" because throught the whole time I thought it was for the Dillars coupons not for the credit card. He, stopped and said: "ok" AND THEN he started puching random number for the Social!!! I quickly, said "no,no no" and pressed X. This is the second time something like this has happened to me and am traumatized by situations like these. I don't want the gentleman to get fired or anything but I do want situations like these to people to be AWARE that things like these are NOT RIGHT. Its literraly, like Wells Fargo people creating fake accounts for people in order for them to get incentives or meet their goal. Accessories and hosiery are the main reasons I like Dillard's. This is one of the better Dillard's in town and today, it totally made my day. When Dillard's makes stuff down, they mark it DOWN and today's crazy sales was no different. I got two BCBG 100% rayon dress at 70% off. When I jokingly asked Nathan I. what 30% of $98 her said, "Nothing. They are free." Yes, less than $30 for a BCBG is a summertime miracle and it's not even summer. The quest for new dresses is never ending since you can only be photographed and seen in a particular dress a couple times. I don't make the rules, I just know what they are and I abide the best I can. In addition to the ridiculous deal on the dresses, I also scored on some cute Alex Marie 1/2" flats that have a padded footbed for $24.99. And they are real leather. AND they are peep toe and have a bow on them. I'm really growing as a person y'all and you should be happy for me, as I have never willingly owned a pair of shoes with such a prominent bow and have never, ever bought peep toes before, but these were just right. Which reminds me, need to get a pedicure. Another summertime miracle. The last miracle was finding a Steve Madden patent red 100% leather belt which is the same one I bought a TJMaxx last year, and my year-old one is my second favorite belt, so to find it's replacement even less than I probably paid for it at TJMaxx is truly a fashion miracle. Nathan almost bought a pair of thong underwear that were fashioned after a tuxedo, but he thought better of it...or maybe that's why he was sitting in his car so long after I drove away...In any case, this random trip to Dillard's is what made today's brunch the best brunch ever. Minus one star because they can only sell the BCBG at that counter and I was pretty sure department stores where called that so that you could buy anything from any department at any counter. Before I was even born, my grandfather was so irritated with my parents' overindulgence on my nursery, my toys, and my two packed closets of clothes from Dillard's, he said my middle name may as well have been "Dillard". While amused by this story, I'm still not sure why my clothes didn't come from Baby Dior. Then again, I wasn't even born, so I couldn't complain about it yet. But I digress. The point is, I've grown up always liking Dillard's. It's no Neiman Marcus, and I'd rather hurl myself off a cliff than wear anything by their house brand Roundtree & York, but it's a solid, decent department store with well-known "better" brands. I also like their approach to marketing. Unlike Macy's--with their perpetual "one-day" sales, worthless/misleading coupons, and utterly confusing pricing policy--Dillard's doesn't play that game. You either pay retail, or wait for a modest sale. If you can find something on sale, good for you. If not, wait a little while. Dillard's always seems much more "composed", too. If the stores were celebrity siblings, Dillard's is Luke Wilson, and Macy's is his less put together, kind-of-a-hot-mess-but-still-endearing sibling, Owen. You get the picture. As I usually am when I go shopping, I'm on a mission for an extremely specific item, and the other day it was black Emporio Armani undershirts. I knew Dillard's carried them because the styles I wanted were all online. I know purchasing online is easier, but I wanted to get a good look at the new-ish Dillard's Domain. The store is visually quite appealing. Bright lights, clean displays, a place for everything and everything in its place. Walking to the escalators, I couldn't help but take a look at the jewelry, since the bright pink Betsey Johnson display caught my eye. It was also cool to see Korto Momolu from Project Runway a few seasons back had launched her accessories line. OK, I'm getting distracted. Gotta go upstairs to the little boy's section. The underwear was easy to find. There it was--an entire display of Emporio Armani underwear. But of course, all in white. #$@%^! I searched drawer by drawer until I found the equivalent of what I wanted (3-pack, crew neck undershirt) in white. A salesman came over and I asked him to check and see if they 1.) Came in black at all, and 2.) If any other store had them. He said that only Barton Creek had them, and six packages at that. No need to put them on hold. But the Dillard's Domain, the one place you think would have them, didn't. As I descended the escalator, not even Julia Robert's smile on the new Lancome advertisement could help me get over my irritation. Once again, my myopic search had left me empty handed, except now I can say I got to see the new Dillard's. Epilogue: I went to Barton Creek, and that Dillard's told me they had no idea what the guy at the Domain was talking about. They had zilch. So on a whim, I went to Macy's. And to my pleasant surprise, they had my black crew necks instead. Whaddaya know? Owen Wilson came through after all. read more

While this Dillard's, (in comparison to the Dillard's at Lakeline Mall) is newer, nicer, three stories and in the Domain, the service I always receive here has been spotty at best. The first time I came in here, two years ago there was a very helpful woman stationed in the petites section that helped me every step of the way. When my Mom and I went in searching for business/casual clothing in the petites section yesterday there was no one there. Crickets, seriously. A lady eventually came by and confessed that she was running both the Women's section as well as Petites. She was nice enough, and totally not her fault. The problem is with the store spreading their employees too thin. There were clothes stacking up in the changing rooms and we had to search for a cashier. Like I said, this is a newer nicer location - if they could staff like they staff at the Lakeline Mall location, this would be a five star review. Found a pair of shoes I liked on display at the store. They were regular price, $99. I have the same shoe in another color so I knew to ask the clerk for a size 8.5. She came back and said they didn't have any in that size right now, it jumped from 7.5 to 10. Genius, so nothing anywhere close to my size. I asked if they could order it. She said yes, but I would have to pay an additional shipping charge. I so no thanks and left. I called the customer service phone number, and the representative confirmed that Dillard's will not ship their product to the store for pickup without charging for shipping. What is this, the 80's? Every other major retailer I've gone to will ship to the store for free. I guess this is the genius strategy their multi-millionaire CEO's dreamed up as a way to compete with Amazon. Went in for a few household items and everything was fine. The problem came when we went to check out. The employee asked if we wanted to open a Dillard's card and I politely declined... But she was relentless! After about the third time, she went ahead and pulled up a credit application. How many times do I need to say no? I came in here fully expecting to walk out empty-handed after my prior stop looking for men's belts. I ended up leaving with even more belts than I expected to buy. The reasons why are two-fold. First, my excellent salesperson, James. Second, the selection of belts available at popular pricing. James immediately greeted me almost the moment I reached the men's department. He insisted on measuring my waist and kept up a friendly banter of jokes (ranging from Lewis Black to Ron White) as he helped me select a variety of belts for my suits and my more casual clothing. His recommendations were spot on. Second, the selection of belts that this Dillard's had meant that James could actually pick belts that met my needs, not just show me a couple of belts in stock. Equally important, the belts were priced right. They were neither cheap schlock nor marked up to be marked down. I saw an item at Dillard's yesterday. I called back today because I decided I wanted to purchase. The customer service associate informed me that they would not take my over the phone order even though I am from out of town and unable to make it back to the store, the item is not available online - and refused to transfer me to someone who could help. I have worked in retail for over 10 years and have been expected to bend over backwards to make the customer happy. This was a very simple request that should have been completed, no questions asked. Hello everyone, I was searching for a ball gown at the domain and found the perfect dress at bcbg (next to bebe) but unfortunately I received horrible customer service..i will write a review for them later. I went to Dillard immediately and found the same dress but in a different color. The sales person whose name I do not remember (really cute brunette probably in her 20s) called multiple bcbg and Dillard searching for my dress WITHOUT me asking. Then I expected to get 60% off and I ended up getting an additional 20% off. She was so sweet and extremely patient. Definitely 4 stars for customer service. I called the fragrance department to ask about product availability. The associate answering the phone had obvious English language barriers because she struggled to understand my basic question. She put me on hold to go check about my product and never came back on the line. You just can't find good customer service these days. I just moved here from another state and found Dillards Department Store in Texas. I bought many items in this store and with Covid decided to order online. Unfortunately I didn't read the return label that I would be charged for returning my items. I contacted customer service regarding this because I had reordered other items in the correct size. I had assumed being a high end store they would have Nordstom customer service was I wrong I talked to one customer rep that needs to go to charm school. Finally talked to a supervisor and she reversed one 9.95 charged so disgusted with the service I received I may take the 10 items I have hanging in my closet with price tags back to the store. My wife loves Dillard's and usually, so do I. This review is not in the store but more so the policy's they most likely have in place for their sales associates. They were extremely friendly and helpful but it was irritating when we moved to a different section of the store and felt compelled to leave our items that we chose in the section we just left because the sales associate insisted on holding them for us. Well, in each section we went to it was the same way. Why? Well, it's because they get credit for their sales. I somewhat understand, but when you're spending multiple hours shopping it gets irritating to feel obligated to one person per section. We do not have a Dillard's near us in California. The closest one is in Lancaster and I ven then it's so small it doesn't seem like a "real" Dillard's. Anyway back to this review. Let me carry my items to wherever i want and pay wherever i want. I have a very difficult-to-find bra size. Dillard's is the ONLY store that I have found that has had at least a couple of styles in sizes that will fit me every time I go in. I've been measured before and usually don't bother when the service is offered because even when I'm measured, I still have to try on more than a dozen bras before I find something that fits. Today, I went in and initially refused fitting. After many, many bras that I thought should fit, I swallowed my pride and asked the sales associate for help. (I believe her name-tag read Santana, but I've a lousy memory for names. She was VERY helpful and didn't even laugh when she saw the ratty bra I was wearing.) For the first time EVER, I was measured and IMMEDIATELY brought bras that fit! Halleluja! I just wish the darned things weren't $60 a pop. This Dillard's is the nicest one I've been into. There are others where the layout is rather old and even mirrors JC Penny's feel. Did not feel like shopping in those older buildings for some reason. But I must say, this one in the Domain is worthy of the wallet. I would have given it a 5 stars had it have more brands. They don't carry Tag watches nor Movado. There is an extremely rude woman who works in the ladies department. Her assigned area is Westbound petites/Calvin Klein dresses. There was a vacant dressing room with an open door so I went inside to try on my dresses. To my shock, she knocked on the door and told me I had to leave the dressing room while I was in the middle of changing. Her tone was harsh! Another customer was using that room but had left it. I asked the employee if she could open another dressing room for me - she did not answer. The employee was clearly driven by her sales commission that she would hopefully close on the other customer. Can you believe the employee even told me to put the clothes back myself?! I'm on a shopping spree and refreshing my wardrobe after taking 2 years off shopping during covid. Went in this evening to purchase a vest Jacket they had on sale , after I tried it on I put my jacket back on a lady yelled out "sir, sir " and walked over to me touching the jacket I had on asking me if I was trying something on as she looked me up and down and around looking for Tags on the jacket I was wearing which I own and actually bought at the same location. All this while I was holding the piece I was going to purchase in my hand. ( there were other customers looking over and nodding there heads as the way she profiled me was wrong and embarrassing) I was very confused. I showed her the one I was carrying and said " this is what I tried on and am Buying " them she insisted i go to the cashier to check out .. I wasn't even done shopping ... Moments later a second lady stops me asking me if she wanted me to Carry the jacket I was considering purchasing.. again confused I asked if there was a problem she quickly drew back and stated there was no problems and I can continue shopping ........ after speaking with one of the gentlemen that sales the colognes I collected that the two women who profiled me for stealing were both managers for that department.... I think this Dillard's location is one of the better Dillard's in Austin due to the brand-new feeling. However, every time I am in the store I feel like it's a ghost town. No customers. And no sales associates when you need one. Not sure how this store is staying in business, but then again I guess that's not my problem. I just think it would be such a waste to see such a nice, new store close in the near future due to the lack of sales from potential Austin customers. The Domain is a hopping spot and definitely my stomping ground, so I am fully aware of the fact that every other large retailer has tons of shoppers in their stores on a regular basis. The Macy's down the way in the Domain always has some kind of sale going on and different events in their stores so people are always in there. I wonder if this Dillard's just doesn't have a good PR person to get more people in the store or to push any of their sales or shopping events? One of my biggest pet peeves every time I come in here, is that I have to hunt down a sales associate when I have a question or need to checkout. I bounce from department to department looking for someone. No one has really ever approached me to ask if I need assistance in the 15-20 times I have come in to this location. Also, when I do have a question, the girls typically don't have a very helpful answer - they all seem very inexperienced. Imagine if you had more seasoned sales people? You could be closing many more sales in this store! Also, I really love the brand BCBGMaxAzria, and they have an exclusive boutique upstairs with a great assortment of product. But the one time I attempted to make a return on a dress I decided I really wasn't that in love with. The sales associate would not accept the return because there was a discrete snag somewhere on the dress. She was super tacky and proceeded to tell me that I had worn the dress and that I wouldn't be allowed to return it. However, I never wore the dress and most likely purchased the dress with the snag already on it...without me even noticing. What a waste of $150. Never wore the dress because I disliked it that much and ended up donating it to Goodwill. I know the BCBG department kind of acts as a separate business within Dillard's, but if you are going to have this brand representing a huge portion of your store, make sure the BCBG employees treat the rest of your Dillard's customers respectfully. I will say this store is very clean, and merchandised really well. All new fixtures, and pretty creative displays. Just wish I had some better customer service experiences to write about. Do not spend any of your money here. Poor customer service. I was shopping 15 minutes before close and a woman named Nobila practically stalked me hurrying me to leave. She told me that i needed to hurry up and leave. Management, Amanda, wasn't much better offering up an insincere apology with a weak comment about "letting her supervisor know." An experience I cannot get over! Every year, my family and I look forward to one tradition...The Dillard's New Years Day Sale! That's all over for us now. Monday morning(Jan 1st) I waited outside laughing and comparing stories with the other women excited to get to the goods....I always come prepared with my totes to carry all the Christmas decor I'll be getting......everything was great! I was there for hours, my bags were full, I was rolling luggage that I wanted...... In that time I'd sit in an "out of the way" spot and separate my must haves, maybes, and put back. After I put one bag full back in it's appropriate area(instead of just stashing it wherever) I decided to go ahead and buy my must haves(short line in the men's department so I went for it) then I could see how much I've spent and decide on my maybes. This is when a police officer approached me and assured me I'd not be leaving with the bags that I had set aside. I was shocked that he assumed I would and was like " uhhhh I know" I mean duhhhh! Even the guy checking me out knew I set the bags to the side! So after that this cop and another security guy would not get off my heels. I continued shopping and was doing my last scan to see if I missed anything.....called my mom to compare what they got at their Dillard's in Houston and I was sitting on a display bed right in front of the Christmas section(the busiest area) taking out all the ornaments and keeping my musts and putting the ones that I didn't need or had too many of......that's when the cop and his side kick approached me again and firmly said " I'm done playing these games with you, turn around" I was obviously confused and thought he wanted me to look at something behind me or something and he put HANDCUFFS on me in the middle of the store and made me sit in front of everyone for about ten minutes handcuff like a criminal. I've never been more mortified in my whole life. I live in the Domain where this Dillard's is located, I'm a hairstylist with honest and loyal clients and the thought of my neighbors or clients seeing me sitting in handcuffs on a display bed is so beyond embarrassing. I had to explain fifty million times what I was doing before he took the cuffs off of me and let me get the things I wanted. When I left I called my sister bawling my eyes out.......I felt so dirty, mortified, confused. We all ended up taking everything we got the next day, Brittany the store manager was really apologetic to me and was on my side(thank you Brittany) All I want is for that officer to apologize to me though. Ashely(another employee offered me a fragrance set....haha, thank you, but I don't want it) I want him to know he was dead wrong for what he did to me and he ruined my favorite holiday tradition forever! read more

Bought my Husband some socks this afternoon and found an associate close to a register, I asked if I could purchase them there, I received a smirk and an eye rolling. I asked him how he was doing today and he just sighed with no response. I was obviously an inconvenience. Being sympathetic (I'm in hospice, I understand bad days) I said, gosh that I was sorry he is having a rough day. His response with his forefinger in the air "way too many assumptions going on here". Oh, geez. I apologized again an he didn't utter one word after that, pointed for me to sign, stuffed the socks in the bag and then pointed to me again to leave. I feel so sorry for the rest of the customers that he provides "customer service" to after me, I hope it's just not one of my patients or families that just lost a loved one who is buying socks to bury them at the funeral. Shame on Dillard's for allowing this to continue. I went downstairs to the jewelry department and shared my experience, the associate said "Oh yes, I know who he is, that's just the way he is.". I love the Dillard's at the Domain for finding clothes for my husband. Their men's department cannot be beat. Just last week I was able to buy him a Summer wardrobe for $100 that included at least $1500 worth of merchandise. This is a must check it out at the end of each season. But even at full price their menswear is impeccable. Everything from shoes to suits, to some outstanding leather jackets and the staff to help you find just the right size and style. I wish the women's departments were as helpful. I still find a lot to wear to work here, I just typically find it without any assistance. Was in this area due to my fiancé working in Austin. The shopping center is beautiful. Dillard's is large and beautiful as well. I came as a bride looking for a wedding shoe. A particular one as well. When I was asked about it, the First Lady said she didn't have it but offered a similar pair that may please me. As she went to the back, another employee asked if I had been helped. When I explained the shoe I was looking for- she first told me it didn't come in white or ivory (which it does) and then proceeded to tell me to go to a wedding store, that ivory or white shoes are hard to find.she was off putting and not helpful at all. I stopped by the Dillard's at The Domain in Austin to have my watch looked at as it had stopped working (I figured it was a battery issue). I'd like to point out this watch is a wedding present from my wife, so it is quite precious to me. After greeting the associate behind the counter and explaining the situation to her, I was promptly told that she does not work on watches. When I asked about a service department or a recommended watch shop, she provided me with the kindness of "I don't know". Armed with the knowledge that Dillard's customer service ends when the cash register till slams home, I'm taking to Yelp to share my experience with other patrons. Where do I begin, I had an interview scheduled for 3/27/18 with Nicole the shoe manager, the interview went very well she was very polite and very nice, we talked for a good half hour and I have experience with sales for automotive parts selling between 4-5k a day, so I knew coming into the shoe department getting my sales up would have not been an issue, long story short she said she thinks id be a good fit even though generally they tend to hire people who have experience with shoes but again like I mentioned I have experience with sales. I had my second and final interview today with the store manager Brittany, and to begin with me and Nicole had spoke about me getting into dress code when I were to start and that id have to go shopping etc. So coming into this interview I wore a nice blouse, nice boots and some jeans, due to the fact that I took 2 hours out of my current job to come to this interview so I did not have time to change and I also had told Nicole that I was going to go shopping this weekend when I got payed and had a day off that being I do work M-F full time and do not get out until 8pm which gives me NO TIME to go to the stores. Well when Brittany finally came out she introduced herself and immediately said "Why aren't you in dress code?" I tried to explain to her what I spoke to Nicole about but her body language and facial expression showed she did not care about what I had to say, she then said " I should just re-schedule but ill move forward" through out the whole interview I felt very uncomfortable and I felt a lot of attitude from her end, she said id be a better fit in customer service and I told her I'm interested in expanding and trying out the shoe department. Through out the whole interview she kept bringing up the whole dress code situation as if she wasn't already harassing about it enough. She then said when can I come back again and I told her I had already had to ask for the 2 hours off from my current job and itd be difficult to take time off again, I thought about it and said "I think I'm okay". I have never ever had such a bad and uncomfortable experience in an interview before, she seemed in a rush maybe because I had interrupted her lunch, but then again maybe I shouldn't have been scheduled at that time. Never going back to that store again, I will be reaching out to HR department. No wonder they are so short staffed in the shoe department. As for Nicole, she was very sweet and respectful. I want to say that Dillard's has lost a longtime Dillard's customer. Yesterday, I went to the Dillard's store at the Domain in Austin. I had received an adorable Vera Bradley tumbler for Mothers Day from my daughter. I loved it but it was broken; both the straw and the bottom of the cup. My intention was to exchange it, but after seeing that there were no cups to change it with, I requested a cash refund. I had the original receipt. I was told that I could only receive money credited back to the debit card by which the purchase was made. Obviously I didn't purchase my own gift therefor I didn't have my husband's debit card. I was told no cash could be given, only store credit. I HAD THE RECEIPT!! The associate proceeded to call a manager and I was directed upstairs. I was trying to enjoy an evening of shopping with my daughter but realized that fighting for what is right was a valuable lesson for her to learn. Upstairs I was again told the Dillard's policy about a refund. My problem was, my husband was sold a defective product of which the store had no replacement, so therefor I wanted a cash refund. Ultimately a cash refund was given, and all associates were respectful and kind but this policy has caused me to not return as a Dillard's customer. My my family over the last 2 weeks spent at least $300 and I have always shopped at Dillard's. but how can I, in good conscious buy a gift for someone knowing that if they don't like it and can't find something comparable that they like, will be forced to accept a Dillard's gift card. Not every town in America has a Dillard's and if returning a gift it might be their only opportunity to shop. My dad would be a prime example of that. Were I to give him, say, a shirt that didnt fit. He might not find replacement he liked and would be issued a gift card that would then never be used, because he is a busy doctor who pays little attention to things like that. I guess that is what you are hoping for. Bad form Dillard's, bad form. Even Walmart has an easier return policy! read more
