I am thoroughly impressed by DIG! The interior is clean, organized, and has plenty of seating. The music is at an appropriate volume to be able to have a conversation or work while doing lunch. The vibes are clean, chill are well achieved. The staff are friendly and helpful to attending to our orders. I truly appreciate that there is plated option to enjoy food while dining in and a separate option to take the food to

Salmon, Cheesy Cauliflower Side, and Brown Rice Side.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Fresh clean and yummy! I never feel guilty after eating anything from here. Very light but hearty at the same time. The ambiance is very cute with a mosaic pattern floor. Clean and simple interior. The service is top notch. Kind staff!! Very helpful as well~~~~ will continue to return with more people. I can eat here everyday

4.5 This is the best healthy restaurant I've been to. Everything on my plate was good. I'm not even a big fan of salmon but this one was so good and the salt flakes brought out the flavor so much. The carrots were elite. Mashed potatoes were fire. It filled me up. I'm definitely gona frequent this place. The staff were really nice and quick. Good amount of seating, and parking not hard to find.

Custom with Protein Bowl - Hot Honey Chicken, Farm Greens with Mint, Jasper Hill Mac & Cheese, Chili Crisp Brussels, and Sriracha ($12.10)

DIG is a NYC-based fast-casual chain claiming to serve up "home-cooked food" with good-quality ingredients, and opened up a Georgetown location right off of the bustling M Street in a quaint little cottage-like establishment. The interior is cozy yet open-concept and bright, with wood accent pieces and fun tiles lining the floor. At around 7pm on a Friday night, the restaruant was about half-full, with no line. Just like any other fast-casual restaurant (e.g. Chipotle, Cava, etc.), you can order off a preset menu, or make your own bowl/salad/meal of your choosing. Fresh ingredients are displayed inside of a large glass case - they do have a nice variety of protein and side options to choose from that should fit most peoples' dietary needs/restrictions. When I first walked in, I was instructed to stand at the left end of the case in order to start my order. However, they either forgot about me or didn't see me, since I ended up standing there for 5 minutes. I ended up ordering a Custom Bowl with Protein, which I got with their Hot Honey Chicken ($12.10 for this particular protein), a base of Farm Greens with Mint, and I chose their Jasper Hill Mac & Cheese and Chili Roasted Brussels as my two sides. Firstly, they gave me a TINY scoop of their farm greens - it was hardly a base, and more like a small side order. I thought that the pitiful amount of greens would mean that they would be more generous with the other components of my bowl, but unfortunately, this was not the case. The protein of Hot Honey Chicken was well-seasoned, with juicy pieces of chicken thigh in a sweet and spicy glaze, but they gave me a CHILD'S PORTION (four tiny strips of chicken). The Jasper Hill Mac & Cheese was, again, a small portion, but it was so rich that I don't think I would be able to have much of it anyways. The three-cheese blend that they use has a nice combination of tang and richness, but the whole wheat pasta was overcooked, and I could tell it had been sitting out for a while, since the panko breadcrumbs on top were no longer crispy. The Chili Roasted Brussels were neither spicy nor crispy, though they were well-seasoned, and I did like the leaves of roasted basil as well. Finally, I topped it all off with a drizzle of Sriracha, which added a much-needed boost of flavor and spice to the bowl. Without tip and tax, my bowl came out to $12.10 (it varies according to the protein that you order), though there's always some sort of promotion/discount code if you use the app, so I ended up getting $5 off from downloading the app. The $7 price tag made this trip to Dig worth it, but I wouldn't go again for full price - I didn't leave feeling full, the food was solid (but not stellar), and service was slow. I think this is a decent place to get relatively healthy food (but FYI - everything is doused in a generous amount of oil), and if you can get some sort of discount/promotion, it may be worth it, but there's plenty of other better places out there in the Georgetown area.

Let's DIG in, to this review!!!! Be My Elite special Hospitality: Very welcoming staff! Shoutout to: Chef Marquis Montez (prepared our orders) Nae Khary Ambiance: I first visited last year through Yelp elite and my review remains the same, I love this place. Feels like a cozy home with access to aunty's kitchen lol My order: I ordered the hot honey chicken with brown rice, carrots, and broccoli...My entire order was absolutely DELICIOUS! My boyfriend's plate consisted of the hot honey chicken, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and a side of Brussels sprouts. He wasn't a fan of the food because I can agree that the sweet potatoes sadly weren't cooked all the way through. But, he did say that he enjoyed the chicken and the Mac and cheese but wouldn't immediately order the combo in the future. We both agreed that we did not enjoy the Brussels sprouts, not much flavor to it. Great portions, that didn't change from my last visit but I think that the menu items can be a hit or miss. Overall, I have to say that I do support this place as a good option for some delicious hot honey chicken and carrots. I loveeeee the carrots lol

On the occasion that I am in Georgetown for the day I make it a point to drop by Dig for a Hearty Lunch. This is smaller than the Bethesda Location and Parking is always a challenge in Georgetown. The staff move the line pretty quickly and serve your food right away. It may be hard to get a seat during peak lunch hours but you can always order it to go and sit at the Georgetown Waterfront Park for a relaxing meal.

I am absolutely mortified and disgusted by the food I ordered from here. I got DoorDash last night and a side of the kale Caesar salad. As I began digging in, I noticed something discolored and upon further inspection discovered it was some type of roach/beetle. Please see photos. This is deeply concerning and I have been experiencing stomach issues since. I don't know what type of food safety handling is being practiced, but clearly this is not an establishment fit to be serving food. Please steer clear.

Make your own bowl with salmon, faro, sweet potato, and carrots. Topped off with sriracha sauce.

I was happy to hear that Dig had arrived in DC. My previous experience woth Dig had been in NY where they do JetBlue's inflight catering for the NY - London flights. For this visit, I built my own bowl with salmon, faro, carrots, and sweet potato, topped with sriracha sauce. Everything was perfect. The ordering experience is similar to a Chipotle or CAVA. You can pick from pre-set bowls or build your own. Substitutions are allowed of you don't like the sides. They carry a small selection of desserts also. Note that the dishes change by season and they locally source the ingredients. Win win! The staff is extremely helpful and will walk you through the process and provide recommendations if you're unsure. Also, kudos for having reusable cutlery if you're eating in va the usual throwaway plastic most places have. The inside is a bit small and there is some sidewalk seating, but if you are with a sizable group of people, best to get everything to go and enjoy a picnic in Georgetown. They do have an app that you can order ahead with for. Give it a try! You won't be sorry. Give it a try!

We were looking for a quick lunch, and this place filled the bill. A grain salad with chicken and a lemon ginger ale was just perfect.

The space is gorgeous; I love all the plants, and the light brown, light blue, and white color combination for their furniture makes the space look classy and modern. The light brown leather couches are comfortable, and I love the way they circle around the tables to create a natural, cozy booth. Our food was just as beautiful as the space. The Restaurant Week menu comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. Given how indecisive I can be (and how expansive the normal menu is), I was grateful to have my choices narrowed down a bit. I started off my meal with the octopus. The octopus was remarkably tender and not overly chewy, and had a delightful char that gave it a slightly smoky flavor. They double downed on the smokiness with their burnt chili oil, which, alongside the lemon and salsa verde, gave the dish a wonderfully balanced smoky, savory, and slightly acidic flavor. The crushed potatoes had a lovely crispy shell on the outside and served as a great base for the tender octopus. The main course was probably the easiest choice of the evening -- I'm absolutely obsessed with branzino, so the second I saw it on the Restaurant Week menu, I knew that was what I had to get. The fish is beautifully broiled, with a nice, crispy skin and super tender, flaky flesh. It's topped with a few pieces of roasted garlic and a wedge of lemon. The fresh lemon juice, as well as the lovely side salad, offered a great pop of freshness to bring the whole dish together. And finally, for our dessert, I chose the chocolate torta. This wonderful dessert is remarkably rich and decadent, with a strong dark chocolate flavor. It's topped with a lovely marsala date sauce and scoop of sheep's yogurt ice cream, but still doesn't feel overly sweet. The sheep's yogurt in the ice cream offers a bit of tanginess, and I loved the addition of the candied walnuts for a bit of crunch.

A few people kept asking if we were going to Proper on F St or Proper on K St, both sports bars, and up until the day of I thought maybe they were affiliated. That was far from the truth... and honestly, once you walk in, you'll get why Drinks & Food I wasn't planning to drink since I haven't really been drinking lately, but I decided to go for a tequila espresso martini, and I'm glad I did. It was smooth, balanced, and honestly just really good. My friend ordered a Paper Plane, which she loved. For bites, we shared the chicken nuggets with caviar (yes, nuggets and caviar... and yes, they were delicious) and the lemon garlic shrimp, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Everything we ordered hit the mark. Prices are about what you'd expect for K Street and the overall vibe. Think $20-$25 cocktails, $20+ appetizers, and $35+ entrees. Portions, both drinks and food, lean on the smaller side, which is probably the only thing that might make you pause and wonder if it's slightly overpriced. ‍ Service Service was great. Our server checked on us regularly without hovering and offered helpful suggestions when we asked. Everything came out timely, and we felt taken care of throughout the night. Ambiance This is where Proper really shines. I walked into a cute, ground-level, dimly lit lounge with an opulent bar and a man playing the piano, which set the tone for the whole evening It felt upscale but still welcoming. Perfect for a romantic date night or a girls' night with your closest friends when you want to feel a little fancy. Overall The food, drinks, and vibes were so good that I completely forgot to take pictures, which almost never happens That alone says a lot. Proper Bar is a spot I'd return to when I'm in the mood for good cocktails, a stylish atmosphere, and a polished night out.
