Enchiladas and Crab stuffed Crab Relleno

We love the food, service and atmosphere here. Today we spent a beautiful spring afternoon on the patio. This is more of a slow eating establishment and a great place to slow down for the day. The food was fresh, hot and full of flavor. Parking is a bit tricky, but this place is worth the slight challenge.

Wow! What a neat little restaurant! Diego's serves South American cuisine in an interesting little building in grass valley. The patio dining area is surrounded by flowers and offers plenty of shade. The interior is filled with interesting paintings and knick knacks. In the night I visited, there was live music as well. Our server was friendly and didn't bat an eye when I butchered the pronunciation of "panqueque". Speaking of panqueque, I tried the Especial which was amazing. It's built like a smothered burrito but with a savory crepe instead of a tortilla.

Such a cute little place--but if you blink you'll miss it, keep your eyes peeled! Awesome patio, friendly and professional service with a huge menu of South American influenced cuisine. Reservations recommended. Parking can be a bit tricky so allow yourself some lead time.

I think this is good thank you

I have give this place several chance since 2018 I will not recommend IT It is not as authentic as they wish it to Be Taste varies too much depending who is in the kitchen Services was not good for us-and we had guest and waited long periods for each dish to come out so much WE never ate together!! Due to this

So happy to have found this place ---was a definite foodie experience . The atmosphere was the epitome of Grass Valley---eclectic, unique and a little boho . The menu has something for everyone, but I have to say that I don't think you can go wrong with anything . The flavors just are bursting with spice and freshness , and I couldn't get enough of the black beans and rice. Be sure to save room for dessert ----amazing and all house made.

This was a new thing for me to try I'm used to Mexican flavors.. I tried the pupusas and they were good I'm used to the more common Salvadoran style, but still tasty, I tried one of each. The bean and cheese had more flavor to me than the chicken and cheese.. maybe due to not seeing any chicken in the bites I had. The place was pretty busy and has a nice dining area outside. We also had the BBQ banana split, I didn't get the opportunity to take a picture of it before the hubby started in on it. It was really good and also different from the regular banana split you expect... the caramel was yummy.

It was suggested to try this restaurant for my birthday. We arrived to a beautifully decorated restaurant with lovely lights outside. Initially, we were slightly perplexed about the entrance, but discovered that access was through the patio leading to the main entrance. When we walked in, we saw a lurch type statue and a festive Halloween decorations. I absolutely loved that aspect of the decor. The food options were quite unique and interesting, which we enjoy. My husband decided to order the flat iron steak with vegetables and sweet potato fries. I chose to have steak nachos with guacamole and salsa served separately. We arrived at the establishment within an hour of its closing time, and although we tried to order quickly so as not to inconvenience the staff, I must admit that the lively ambiance did not seem to be fully reflected in their demeanor. We would like to visit again in the future and perhaps dine in the patio area next time.

We were very hungry by the time we sat down due to the long, wait, but it was well worth it. However, that are hunger. I forgot to take very good food pictures. The kitchen and historic charm of the decor hides a quite spacious restaurant that is decorated with historic furnishings, and adorable crayon pictures colored by local children. The menu is varied and has something for everyone. I tried the potato pancakes, which are hashbrowns mixed with cheese and garlic and onions on top with pesto sauce and eggs, and I must say that they were a delightful surprise, crispy and savory and worth every bite. My friends ordered the tofu breakfast burrito at Cuevo rancheros along with the bacon and egg breakfast at all said they were. We chose to share a three person mimosa, which includes a bottle of champagne and juice of your choice to accompany, and it was just perfect for our group. Our survey Anna was very busy, but made sure to check on us after serving the food and made sure that the food was served our liking and responded to every request we had. I would definitely plan on waiting in line on the weekends. They have a self-service waiting list and they will call you - inside or outside- when your table is ready. We waited a full 45 minutes on a Sunday around 11:00 am. Worth the wait, though!

Ambiance is rustic as you are in an old building near downtown but is roomy and clean with lots of seating. Food and drinks: Coffee and iced tea: both good and refills kept coming. Lobster Benedict- 3.5/5. Eggs were overcooked to medium. The hollandaise was spicy but good. Lobster was a little overwhelmed by the sauce and the potatoes needed more crisp and seasoning. Biscuit and sausage gravy with a medium egg- 3.5/5. The egg was perfectly over medium. The biscuit was light and fluffy. The gravy was good but it was ham gravy ...not sausage (just FYI). We would go back and try something different.

I'm submitting a review today because I always enjoy their food, service, and ambience, always delightful, special, and the experience is both home cooked and international, but also super personable (if you frequent) and very casual and fun! I simply today want to note how amazing the very certain, peaking flavors that are still tingling on my lungs, of the basil, chili chemistry, and Lao curry magjick I just experienced last Friday I cannot get off my mind, and body, today of the 4th day past! I admittedly am having an absolute sense of remorse; I am traveling to the Bay Area this upcoming weekend and will miss this Friday dinner at my FAVORITE Lao/Eastern Family Food Restaurant in the world. (I have been to Laos n Thailand, each their own, and Panoy and their family at the restaurant, deliver one of the most authentic Eastern experiences of community, food, and fun in getting to know a very slender, sliver of the magjick that lives in Gold Country California in 2026.) If you have yet to eat (and frequent, perhaps) Panoy, go directly in return or for your first time, and experience the fresh, rejuvenating invigorating palate Panoy brings to their community and extended family they share their business with. I'll be bringing my extended Bay Area friends and family there, as they visit me, home. Springing your way there w/your beloveds would be a great way to share a sense of specialty, reserve, and you'll be remembered for the great hosting in extending your family's taste, to Panoy's exquisite offerings and dishes, of the best nuance of Lao orient.
