Not true to Persian cuisine, beware! Food tastes edible, but NOT Persian. -Koobideh Kabob was made with beef, not lamb, and was burned/dry. No sumac was given in to-go order. Side grilled tomatoes are usually a treat, these were unripe and dry. -Rice is NOT made with saffron, rather safflower or turmeric (cheaper replacements). No perfume of saffron in the rice, and when you say 'saffron rice' you'd better use it! -Khoresht e Bademjan vegetarian was just chunks of undercooked eggplant, in sauce. Tastes nothing like others we've had in good Persian restaurants (Shalizaar, Negeen, Alborz) or made at home. Where are the lentils? Where is the rich flavor you'd expect? -Mast o Musir is supposed to be shallot yogurt. It is best made with Labneh or strained yogurt rather than thin yogurt. This was made with white onion, not shallot, and thin yogurt. Not good. If there is one thing I want in this part of the bay, it's a good Persian restaurant. Didar, I want you to do better, please! People deserve to be exposed to authentic cuisine!

I was drawn to this place by lamb shank. The place is like a post office. Order food in the front and there are 15 kitchens in the back cooking different foods owned by different owners. I ordered from Dida Persian food. 1. Lamb shank: cooked in tomato sauce very tender. Accompanied fava bean rice very tasty. 2. Koobideh: minced beef with strong onion flavor. Also very tender and juicy. 3. Cucumber tomato: fresh No nonsense place with great food! Note that there are only 5 or six small tables for a quick meal with no service!

Ordered fesenjoon and tahdig, got something else. Three times now. I've called, left notes communication is terrible. They keep telling me to 'try it' and that I'll like it, but it's not what I ordered. Honestly, I don't even think they have fesenjoon like they promote.

Combo Kabob - Koobideh and Joojeh Chicken Kabob

I was first introduced to Persian food about 35 years ago when an Iranian friend had a birthday celebration at a restaurant in Little Italy of San Francisco. Go figure! I remember the aromatic spices of cinnamon, garlic, coriander, the smell of grilled meats permeating from the kitchen and being served a plate of fresh herbs, with dried fruit, nuts, green olives, feta with some thin bread...and getting a dish of pomegranate chicken. Wonderful culinary memory! Since that time, I've tried many Persian restaurant with one being Didar Persian in Concord. The location has since closed, but re-opened in a different format. No longer a brick-and-mortar, dine in experience but offering takeout/delivery from East Bay Eats, foodhall/ghost kitchen located in Downtown Hayward I had called the restaurant to place an order but was told to place my order at the ghost kitchen kiosk or place thru DoorDash. I was a bit confused so the owner was nice enough to say he would take my order, get it started but be sure to order and pay via the kiosk so I didn't have to wait. Basically, payment is collected via the app. COMBO KEBAB Jujeh (chicken, white meat) & Koobideh (beef) kabob with generous amount of saffron rice and a grilled tomato - The chicken was a tad dry which is expected with white meat when not eaten right away. Rice was perfectly cooked and the spiced ground beef kebab was flavorful and delicious. LAMB SHANK Super tender, moist, fall-off-the-bone delicious. The saffron rice was fluffy was mixed with fresh dill and fava - delicious EGGPLANT MIRZA GHASEMI Smoked eggplant mixed with minced garlic served with a side of mint, cilantro, sliced radish, green olives along with lavash. Love eggplant and this dip was delicious! This first visit hit the spot and will definitely return to try their Crunchy Rice (Tahdig ) + Stew **** ORDER AHEAD Go to: https://eastbay-eats.com, locate the restaurant, place your order and pay. After about 25 minutes I received notification that it was ready for pickup. Super easy.

I had DoorDash deliver an order of joojeh chicken kabob. It was fresh flavorful and delicious. The portion was large and fed two people. Give this place a try you will be glad you did . Bon appétit

I am unfairly comparing against the afghan version, so this is bland to me. The mix combo of chicken and beef kabobs was decent, the burnt tomato added much flavor, and the rice was good, but the aroma i expected from any mint sauce was missing. Instead you get a bag of 10 mint leaves, two small pieces of slightly pickled persian cucumbers, and 10 thin pieces of flat bread. Overall, tasty, but not something i need to repeat when i can eat afghan, or am so close to fiji bbq food truck, and also can try so many other options at east bay eats. Speaking of east bay eats, it is a small space with 6 tables that barely fit 16 people, and 6 stools facing a window, and 2 kiosk screens to order, and a window size hole in the wall for someone to quietly say "order for YOURname". Yes, about 7 restaurants serving via 1 window hole, and you have to order and pay one place at a time. Better to order online. Not return for this food. Might try freshzilla at this location.

Been craving for a koobideh quite awhile now. One night we went to a party of a friend and they served koobideh! Couple days after, I was still craving for it lol So I decided to look up closeby our area and found this since it's the one that first popped up. ! I didn't realize that it was a cloud kitchen. It's called east-bay eats. There were like another 5-6 companies/resto that share with them in the building. And just so you know it is not a typical restaurant that you walk in and dine in. Well, there's 3-4 small tables and you can still sit and eat but that's about it. They are just there so you can have a seat and wait and it also if you just ordered from their kiosk right at that moment. It is mainly for togo or takeout. I did order the Koobideh and the Fesenjan w chicken. It was my first time ordering and tasting Fesenjan. Looking to taste and get more familiar with Persian dishes so I decided to get this one because my husband loves chicken and something with sauce. Fesenjan is a Persian chicken stew made with chicken breasts or thighs that are slowly cooked with ground toasted walnuts and pomegranate molasses. We have been eating some other cuisines like Indian, Mediterranean, Afgan etc.... koobideh and joojeh and that's all we know of Persian cuisine so this Fensejan is a little bit different. It has a mild flavor not too sweet, not salty either. We expected something saltier or more savory but i think it is an acquired taste. You eat with a thin bread that they provided and mint leaves. Im not saying it's bad but it takes about 3-4 bites before I appreciated the flavor and it's good in fairness. It's just not something that you'll go crazy on the first bite and I think it's too pricey for $20 since I only saw like 3-4 small pcs of chicken in there. Their Koobideh is good and also $20 for 2 skewers w rice. Their small shirazi salad is $8. A little bit pricey. We have another Persian restaurant nearby our place so Im gonna have to try it so I can compare too. Will give another update or review on here when I come back and try their other dishes. I love supporting small businesses in our community and I want to be fair with everyone. I am giving it 4 stars due to the convenience of having the option to order different cuisines in one location. Will try again one of these days. Later!

My go-to is the triple kebab (which you can customize), and I'm partial to their shami (ground beef), chicken, and chapli (beef patty). The meat is succulent and incredibly well-seasoned, with the shami being a standout...definitely the kind of dish you don't judge by its cover! This dish is served on a bed of rice and small salad. The rice is cooked well. I have also tried several of their appetizers, and my favorites are the samosas and borani banjan (eggplant), though the bolani are also great, and the serving size is enough to feed a small army. The samosas are a nice departure from traditional samosas I am accustomed to, especially at India restaurants. The ones here are large, flatter (almost like an empanada), and not the slightest bit greasy. You can tell they make these fresh. The banjan have a nice acidity and a tasty cream/tomato sauce they are tossed within. The bolani can be prepared with either leeks or potatoes (or ask for a combo!) and are served with a cream dipping sauce. I feel that everything here is a good value, with the triple kebab coming in at $25, and the appetizers all coming in at $10-$15. You will not leave hungry.

Although, she took our order and literally mixed up everything, giving us another tables order, tsking our order to them, forgetting our drinks, just endless absent mindedness. Not sure if its just due to age/memory but I dodnt hold any of it against her or this review. I got the koobdieh plate. My daughter got the chicken curry. We got the mantoo as an appetizer. Free salad = good Mantoo = good (but neded more spice) Koobedieh = okay, have had better Rice = very grainy/hard, not your typical basmati rice...maybe it's supposed to be that way? Chicken curry = terrible. The chicken was weird like a stale chip...not sure if it was frozen too long but it wasnt good at all. The curry itself was pretty bland. Rice was the same as I mentioned earlier. I think you can get you "fix" if you're in the mood for middle Eastern food but it really wasnt very good and it isnt the cheapest.

I'll go into detail for each: - the kubideh combo (chicken and beef) were the juiciest and fresh kabobs you'll find around. Serves with very well made white rice that'd be delicious on its own - Texan burger was so rich and juicy with a spectrum of flavor that'll make you overeat - the manto dumpling was easily the best one I've had though I haven't had too many this one definitely was cooked to perfection - very friendly staff that goes out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction - it's a clean, well kept and cozy place to sit - nice outdoor seating with effective heating - bathroom is also clean

This review is long overdue, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families know…read morewhat to expect from Kabob Fusion. My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.
