Too salty and I am extremely thirsty after having their steak gyro. The bread is not soft enough and it was in room temperature, I thought it supposed to be warm before serving. The steak and their sauce in the gyro wrap were really bad, so salty, i felt like I could have to wash my kidneys after the meal. My friend ordered the combo, it's nothing special except they gave you two types of meats. The rice in the combo is white rice. Totally not worth it. I have gone to this place pretty consistently over the past 5 years during my work lunch. I love that it's a mom and pop shop. It can be pricey but it's always worth it. Today was my last day going to this establishment. I placed an order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15-17 minutes. I waited 20 minutes before going inside. There was a long line of people ordering ahead of me which was not a problem at all. When I reached the front I was told my order was almost ready, so I paid for the meal and sat down to wait. This turned out to be a lie. He had forgotten about my phone order and it was not almost ready. Instead I watched as he prepared and fulfilled the orders of every customer that was in front of me in line when I entered the restaurant. I waited a total of 40 minutes for my food with absolutely no apology. I wasn't able to eat my food because my lunch was over by the time I received my food. To top it off, instead of getting the chicken gyro I ordered, I was given a steak gyro instead. I hate complaining and am usually very easy going. I understand that he was busy, and I understand that he forgot about my phone order. What I don't understand is him lying to me about the order being "almost ready". And I don't understand why he proceeded to serve every other customer who did not call in their order ahead of time. Both of the owners are extremely friendly and good people, but the husband's lack of accountability and customer service is the reason I won't go back here again. read more

I have yet to try the gyros here because it seems to be their special but I'm such a sucker for food chains that I always find myself just ordering from Nick the Greek. LOL. I've actually ordered their ground beef kabob plate twice now and people aren't lying... they serve it in BIG portions. I've been trying to find a place that offered ground chicken kabobs for some time now but I can't seem to find a place that had it so I settled for the ground beef. It's definitely worth it because the ground beef kabob is juicy and it's served with a ton of rice. I would highly recommend getting an additional kabob or two to pair with the rice.. and for this one plate to be shared! You get so much food for a fair price and the food is decent enough but wish the sauces were better. I believe they provide a garlic mayo type of sauce and what tastes like a mayo-ketchup-relish sauce (not my fave). I guess I was looking for more of a cilantro chutney but wasn't sure if that was a thing you can order on the side. read more

Food: Steak Gyro with Fries I had the order to go, which apparently surmised the gyro being double-wrapped with aluminum foil. It was a good choice, as the wrap stayed hot by the time I took it home. The gyro itself had the money's worth of meat. However, personally, there were too many pickles, too few tomatoes, and too little lettuce. The sauce was a little light for the amount of meat given, and it was reminiscent of Thousand Islands dressing, only thinner. Overall, it is a fairly good wrap, though I recommend a tall glass of water or juice if you are hypertensive or have a low-sodium diet. Fries are average. They look to be shipped in frozen, and are akin to McDonald's fries except not as crispy and dressed with table salt, not sea salt. They seem to be served with the same sauce as put in the gyro. Service: An older woman was at the register. I'm not too sure of her general attitude, but my interaction was pleasant enough. I was fairly direct in what I wanted, and "please" and "thank you" can go a long way. The interaction between me, her, and the owner ended with "thank you"s and "have a good day"s, so not bad. I had visited the restaurant a few days prior and interacted with the owner and an employee, both were friendly and receptive, and the owner had a pleasant demeanor. Both were kind even when I decided to leave without purchasing anything. Ambiance: This place is a hole in the wall. There's plenty of seating for how small the place is. The menu consists of posters attached to the wall, drinks are put on the counter, the register face was wood and whiteboard. Personally, it was comforting as it was reminiscent of small restaurants in India. Would I take a friend or family here? Yeah. A romantic date? No. read more

Like other reviewers before me, I was intrigued by Saffron Grill since it was right next to Tastea and I thought, "I have a drink.....why not get food?" Good thing I did! RESTAURANT: It's a no-frill, straight to the point restaurant where your top priority should really be about the food you are going to get. The inside has 1 or 2 tables during COVID that you can sit down and eat at but I opted to do take-out instead. SERVICE: There's some complaints about service here but I thought the person helping me was very nice. There was only one person that day around lunch time and he rang me up as well as prepared the food for me. No issues on my end. FOOD: My favorite thing to get when I get "Gyro" related food is a Lamb dish. Unfortunately, Saffron Grill does not have a Lamb Gyro plate but they did tell me they have Lamb Kebabs. I was initially disappointed but I ended up just getting the #1 Beef Gyro Plate. Food was ready for take-out in 5-10 minutes and I drove home to see what it was like. When I opened the take-out box, I was very happy with both volume and quality of the food given. Lots of beef/steak pieces with salad, rice, and a large piece of bread. The dipping sauce for some reason mixed together reminds me of thousand island dressing but I thought it tasted good when dipped with the meat. The food was very satisfying and I really enjoyed my meal. I'm not sure if pricing is super competitive but I paid around $13-$14. I think it's on the pricey end but at least Saffron Grill gives you a lot of food as well as good-tasting food. CONCLUSION: I'll be back in the future when I'm around the area to try out more of their menu! read more

The gyro's here ARE SO GOOD! I've tried both the chicken and steak and highly recommended! The veggies include tomatoes, lettuce and pickles. The food was bomb. Got the #3 combo (chicken and beef) and it came with rice, salad, and bomb ass sauce. The rice was a wee bit greasy at the bottom, but not greasy to the point that it was pooling or affecting the taste or my mouth. Neither the beef nor the chicken were dry. Very flavorful. I tend to frequent this place a lot, as I am a regular at the trading card shop next door. It's a pretty basic gyro place. Nothing fancy, nothing aesthetically pleasing, just good food. And sometimes, that's all you need. The cashier is friendly for the most part and gives good service for what it's worth.
