I've been wanting some Pakistani/Indian food for a while and Peshawari Kebabs helped satisfy that craving! I felt the prices were good for the amount of food they served. I definitely did not finish everything and now have food for dinner as well. It was my first time here and decided to dine in. The service was reasonably quick and everything came out nice and hot. The Lamb dish I tried had mild spice which was what I asked for. They can adjust the spice to your liking as well. No complaints on the Naan and Bolani. The guy at the front was nice and recommended I try their homemade kheer which is like a rice pudding - it was such a nice treat! Perfectly sweet. I can't wait to come back to try more of their dishes and definitely recommend Peshawari Kebabs to everyone!

Peshawari is my favorite restaurant in the entire bay area!! And that's saying a lot because I'm a foodie and am always on the lookout for the best quality and tasting food. They deliver every single time! If you haven't yet tried Peshawari karahi, kabab and rice or are missing authentic home food, this is the spot! The best, freshly made karahi in all of Bay area!! We always go for their chicken peshawari karahi and I'd rate it 10/10. My partner also loves their lamb karahi, 10/10 from him but I don't eat red meat so I cannot comment on it. They have delicious chapli kabab that are served with a generous serving of rice 10/10. Their naan is of superior quality and taste, we always order extra to take home. They also have great service and tea on tap. Something to keep in mind is that the karahi is made from scratch with fresh tomatoes after you place your order, none of that purees or tomato paste that you'll get at most restaurants, so it does take some time to make the karahi. Factor that in and my advise would be to order over the phone before your arrival, it will cut down your wait time. I wouldn't count the wait time between order and service of food as a con since they're making it fresh and from scratch and I would not have it another way. 10/10 on service as well!

    Potato bolani

It was my second visit here in two years and I loved the food, once again. I'm really surprised with some of the recent low ratings and negative reviews, but my experience was very different. Peshawari Kababs is a medium-sized restaurant in a strip mall with enough parking. It seems like an older restaurant but is extremely clean, and has decent interiors. You can absolutely dine in here; this is not your hole in the wall takeout-only place. There was a single person handling the welcoming, getting the table ready, taking the order, and bringing in the food when we dined in, but she was very efficient, pleasant, and doing everything with a smile on her face - no complaints at all. We started off with the potato bolani. I liked that we could specify the level of spice, something that we often can't do with bolani. And the addition of some spice really helped me enjoy this potato flatbread, compared to other Afghan places. The bolani paired wonderfully with their complimentary chai (milk tea). For the main course, my partner and I shared a charsi goat karahi and paired it with naans. The goat karahi is to be ordered by the pound (it is definitely a little pricey at $25 per lb) and takes about 30-35 minutes to arrive once you place the order because it's slow cooked. We relished every bite of the subtly spiced tender goat with the yummy naan, and left with very happy and full tummies.

If you're craving authentic, flavorful Pakistani cuisine, Peshawari Kabob in Union City is a hidden gem that delivers an exceptional culinary experience. Known for its robust flavors and traditional cooking, the restaurant serves up some truly unforgettable dishes. During our visit, we ordered a range of dishes that showcased the depth of their menu. Qeema Karahi The Qeema Karahi was a standout. A rich, spicy meat stew made with minced lamb, this dish was cooked in a wok-like karahi (a traditional round-bottomed pan), which allowed the spices to infuse the meat deeply. The minced meat was tender, absorbing the tangy, spicy tomato-based gravy beautifully. The mix of cumin, coriander, and garam masala created a deliciously aromatic experience, perfect when paired with naan or Romali Roti. Chapli Kabob The Chapli Kabob was another highlight. These round, crispy patties were packed with flavor--spiced with crushed coriander, cumin, green chilies, and a hint of garlic, they had a slight crunch on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. The meat was perfectly seasoned, and the addition of fresh herbs gave the kabobs a refreshing note. Served with onions and a side of chutney, they were a delightful treat. Nihari The Nihari was a comforting, slow-cooked beef stew with a deep, rich gravy. The beef was incredibly tender, falling apart with the touch of a fork. The gravy had a velvety texture, infused with a variety of spices like ginger, garlic, and garam masala, creating a warming, aromatic sauce. The dish was flavorful yet not overwhelming, making it an ideal pairing with both rice or Romali Roti. Maash Daal The Maash Daal (black lentils) was another great addition to our spread. It was hearty and earthy, simmered in a rich, buttery gravy with subtle spices that didn't overshadow the natural flavors of the lentils. The dal had a smooth consistency and was the perfect balance to the more intensely spiced meats we ordered. Chicken Biryani The Chicken Biryani was aromatic and flavorful, with perfectly cooked basmati rice infused with fragrant spices. The chicken pieces were tender and well-seasoned, absorbing the layers of spices. The dish wasn't overly greasy, and the rice was light yet full of flavor. A touch of yogurt and fresh cilantro garnished the top, enhancing the dish's refreshing and balanced taste. Romali Roti We rounded out our meal with Romali Roti, a soft, thin flatbread that was perfect for scooping up the flavorful curries and meats. It was delightfully light, with a slight chewiness, and was a great accompaniment to all the dishes. Its delicate texture paired well with the hearty, saucy dishes we enjoyed. Doodh Paathi To finish off our meal, we tried the Doodh Paathi, and it was the ideal conclusion to an already incredible spread. It's smooth and comforting, with just the right amount of sweetness, making it an indulgent treat after the savory dishes. The Doodh Paathi was refreshing and soothing, a perfect contrast to the bold spices we'd just enjoyed. Overall Experience Service at Peshawari Kabob was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is casual, with an authentic, no-frills atmosphere, allowing the food to truly shine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Each dish was well-prepared, generously portioned, and full of flavor, reflecting the skill and attention to detail in their cooking. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, offering great value for money. If you're in the area and in the mood for delicious Pakistani food, Peshawari Kabob is definitely a must-try. The range of dishes we ordered provided a satisfying and authentic dining experience that I would highly recommend.

The appetizers were great - the mantu had a great flavor and felt very hearty. The leek and butternut squash felt homey and warm - our waitress said they were her favorite, and were so glad she gave us that recommendation! The leek paired nicely with the yogurt provided, as it was a little spicy and had an aroma pretty similar to chives. The squash bolani was slightly sweet, and almost felt like an in-between for dessert. Having both was a nice contrast. By far the murgh (chicken) kabob was our favorite skewer, as it was the juiciest meat, and quite tender. The lamb shank was quite tender but smaller than expected for the price; it still had a nice homey flavor though I prefer when restaurants provide more of that braised juice to go alongside the dish.
