Hidden gem Mediterranean restaraunt their meat texture was so juicy and lovely and seasoned pretty well!!! Pita was on the thinner side so had a bit of a crisp, good flavor, not too doughey (not undercooked)! Love how they are open late Their beef was my favorite, when I bit into it it was so soft and had meat juice still and was seasoned well And the chicken was pretty good too but not as juicy read more

I am sad to say this has become the absolutely the worst Mediterranean spot; I can't believe how much I used to love it over the last decade and how much it's changed in the short amount of time. We took it to go and ordered 3 combo plates; they messed up the order and were arguing that we had ordered one chicken and one combo, but then ended up making another combo plate but refused to update it. Not only that we told them no cucumbers as I am l allergic to cucumbers or cucumber sauces but they still gave a sauce with cucumbers in it. Onto the food itself, it's super bland but it's oily and the rice and chicken tasted old. There was a bone in the chicken shawarma, and it tastes super off. The beef gyro didn't taste bad but the rice was old. You can taste them. We had taken it to go a few months ago and the meat quality was crap at that time so we thought let's give it another chance and regretted it. This is unfortunately the last time we take it to go, they were super rude and the food on top of it was horrible and not good It used to be one of the best spots but unfortunately it's not anymore, I am disappointed read more

Food is 10/10, as well as their customer service. The gentleman that works there in the morning regularly is always polite. The food was soooo good. You can tell everything was made fresh and in house. It's a pretty small hole in the wall but the vibes were so welcoming. Aziz (I hope I'm spelling that right) was so kind and so generous, he spoke it with us as we were waiting for the food. All in all such a great experience and will definitely come back. read more

If you grew up in Fremont or are familiar with the area, then you definitely know Gaters. They are the definition of a hole in the wall with amazing staff and food. I love to go here when I don't have much time/energy to cook at home but I want something filling and nutritious. This regular sized plate is only 14.99 which is insane to me. Most kebab places/mediterranean spots are starting at $25+ these days so this is 10/10 in my books always. The staff is always very friendly, they're open late, and just about everything on the menu is delicious. One of my go to spots since I was in high school! read more

I used to come here regularly during the 12 years I lived in Fremont, and coming back now brings back so many great memories. It's honestly comforting to see that the quality of the food is still just as good as I remember. Some places change over time, but this one has stayed consistent--and that's something I really appreciate. Highly recommend! read more

This is the best lamb gyro I have ever had in my life. The seasoning is perfect. I come once or twice a week. 10/10.

Came here on a pretty late night, they're open late which is great! I didn't really know what to get the owner was so nice to recommend the combo platter which you can choose the size of! He also let me try one of the desserts and it was so good! But the combo platter was packed with flavor and the sauce was so good! The meats were seasoned perfectly. The place is pretty small but there's still a little bit of seating. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Family run original Mediterranean diner the real deal ,,,, prices super and we split lunch And we are both full!

Really love their schwarmas! Maha and the crew take their time to make them right. Biggest plus is that they toast the outside of the wrap. The medium has just the right amount of chicken, dressing and onions inside the toasted wrap. Add some crispy fries with spicy powder and you'll find yourself coming back again and again. Maha and the staff are always friendly and happy to see you. Stop by today! read more

Gaters is unbelievable. Oh my god, is all I can say. I don't understand those 5-star reviews and where they came from. Totally false. The food here is extremely bad. Horrendous. Those 5stars are probably coming from people with no taste in food. The atmosphere here is very unclean, uninviting, and unpleasant. This place needs serious renovation. The lack of hygiene and sanitation here is mind boggling. This place is a true disappointment to authentic Mediterranean food as well as the restaurant business as a whole. Not worth your time, money, or emotions. read more

Five years later prices are still the same whereas everything everywhere else has become more expensive. And the portions are large. The food is flavorful and overall I'm quite satisfied. The interior of the place is a little shabby, but you don't go there for the ambience. You go there for the fast, friendly service and quality food. read more

Ok I read reviews I saw some bad ones and good ones had to try it myself and give my own personal review. mediterranean food is a plus tired of eating Chinese food and McDonald's. Ann was the person that took the order and I forgot the chef's name but talking friendly great vibe. So for the location it's a small little spot has a few tables and chairs. It will be nice when they remodeled the place and make it look upto date cause the food was pretty good. so we ordered the lamb Gyro french fries kefta kebab plate don't forget to ask for the white sauce and the hot sauce on the side which my wife likes. My Son was going crazy with the lamb Gyro we split it of course it was all gone french fries all gone of course they have ketchup. Not bad my wife's kefta kabob meats was fresh and seasoned properly. Yes I ate her food too. All gone salad was good. Came with with a circle bread you could say it might be pita if correct me if that was wrong and hummus and of course my wife ordered two baklava you have to get that of course that was good. I'll be back to try something else I have a big taste buds I'm a plumber and I go to alot of restaurants I'm writing this 6 hours after eating there and I'm still full with no stomach issues. 5 stars for me because the food was perfect for me and my family. read more

The lamb kabobs did not taste like lamb. If I didn't know, I'd have thought it was beef. Maybe it was. Either way it was not to my liking and I won't order again. Meat was tough and chewy and lots of fat. This was a GrubHub order. read more

Orders 2x off DoorDash within 1.5 hours. They make the dashers wait for nothing and cancel the orders. Ordered at 10:40 pm they closed at 12:00 never gave the foo to the dasher. This is the 3rd time I order from this restaurant and they can't seem to get it to the delivery drivers hands. My advice stick to inhouse serving. And remove them selfs from DoorDash/uber eats. read more

Service was poor and the owner was dishonest. I ordered 6 pieces of chicken and was charged $3 more than the listed meal price. When I asked why, the employee said it was for the extra pieces. He then called the owner to verify -- and the owner initially confirmed I shouldn't have been charged extra. But the moment the employee started speaking to her in front of me, the owner suddenly changed her story, claiming they "no longer serve 6 pieces, only 9." A convenient excuse that only came up after the employee start talking. I refused when they offered to credit the $3 , it's the principle not the insignificant value. read more

I love the wraps and gyros here! The quality is great, and portions are generous. It's a small place, warm and friendly.

Food is decent. However, EVERY TIME I order a gyro "platter" which in their own description includes rice and pita and a Greek salad and gyro meat, they give a small gyro wrap. So I pay 20+ and receive a tiny gyro wrap that is not at all what I ordered. And I really mean EVERY SINGLE TIME. Read your orders Gaters!! read more

Last month, a small group of us went to this restaurant after we got out of an event late. We were happy this place was open and can't say enough about how warm the staff was! There was a true family feeling. Even at a late hour they were so kind, welcoming, and accommodating, and even went above and beyond to serve us. The food was delicious (I enjoyed the garlic chicken), and they were even kind enough to bring us an extra sweet treat to try at the end. We would love to go back! read more

Stopped by after I got off of work at around 10 pm. There was only one guy working, said his name was V. We ordered the combo plate, 3 pc falafel, and a chicken garlic gyro. Everything was very well seasoned and cooked well. He was very busy with online orders and in person but the food still came out pretty quickly. It was definitely a hole in the wall establishment, but worth a try! read more

Excellent food and very warmly greeted. We usually DoorDash food from here but today I went for walk to Isherwood and later stop by to eat at Gaters and I ordered a combo platter and the beef, chicken and rice and salad were all delicious and I enjoyed my meal as always and ordered beef platter to take home for my son. It's small but cute restaurant and I encourage and recommend to family and friend to support small businesses in our community and you will not be disappointed. read more

I ordered a lamb gyro, with fries, and a soda. The lady over the counter wanted to say I never ordered a soda because on my receipt the full description of soda was not printed. I was clearly charged an extra $1.85 for my order and on DoorDash it says the $1.85 charge is for soda, yet this woman was being obtuse and refused to give me a soda and tried to say the extra $1.85 charge was for lamb which was a lie. I showed her what it says on DoorDash. If your customer shows proof that they ordered a soda, you should give it to them. Poor customer service. read more
