Veggie Fetter and Menu

Great Egyptian food! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The savory pies were amazing, and the desserts were just as good. Definitely a hidden gem in Hayward if you're looking for authentic Egyptian flavors. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Food was great, specifically the Feteer was excellent. Went with some friends. The owner was really friendly and kind. Highly recommend!

Rating: (4.5/5) Long…read moreoverdue review! We visited Falafel Etc. in Fremont mid-August on a Wednesday evening for a dine-in dinner. Since it was midweek, the place was quiet with mostly takeout orders coming through, so there were plenty of tables to choose from. Parking right in front was super easy. The Food: Falafel Sandwich: Truly impressive! Fresh, delicious, and very generous on portion size. Lamb Shawarma Wrap: The veggies and hummus inside were delicious, though the portion size was surprisingly smaller compared to the falafel sandwich. Side of Baba Ghanoush: Rich, filling, and paired perfectly with the warm pita bread. Service & Flow: Ordering is straightforward. You order and pay at the counter, and if you're dining in, they bring the food directly to your table. Overall, the food is great quality and well worth the price. I'll definitely be back, next time I want to try one of their plates, and I'm definitely getting the falafel again!

The food here is great, however this is the second time dealing with the same girl at the counter…read more(of Indian descent). The last time she wasn't very nice, took our order as if she was forced to do it. Today was a whole other issue, she steps out to the lobby and takes her shoes off to do something with her feet. The other employee noticed this and even asked her what was wrong. I believe she added a band aid and proceeded to the kitchen without washing her hands. She immediately put gloves on and began preparing food. This is disgusting and we are upset someone would think this is acceptable. I don't think we'll be going here again especially if this person is still employed here. Not a good representation of the good food being made here.

Pita was on the thinner side so had a bit of a crisp, good flavor, not too doughey (not undercooked)! Love how they are open late Their beef was my favorite, when I bit into it it was so soft and had meat juice still and was seasoned well And the chicken was pretty good too but not as juicy

I am sad to say this has become the absolutely the worst Mediterranean spot; I can't believe how…read moremuch I used to love it over the last decade and how much it's changed in the short amount of time. We took it to go and ordered 3 combo plates; they messed up the order and were arguing that we had ordered one chicken and one combo, but then ended up making another combo plate but refused to update it. Not only that we told them no cucumbers as I am l allergic to cucumbers or cucumber sauces but they still gave a sauce with cucumbers in it. Onto the food itself, it's super bland but it's oily and the rice and chicken tasted old. There was a bone in the chicken shawarma, and it tastes super off. The beef gyro didn't taste bad but the rice was old. You can taste them. We had taken it to go a few months ago and the meat quality was crap at that time so we thought let's give it another chance and regretted it. This is unfortunately the last time we take it to go, they were super rude and the food on top of it was horrible and not good It used to be one of the best spots but unfortunately it's not anymore, I am disappointed

Was at Sheba again and tried the same thing which I usually get lamb fahsa and fish. The fish I…read morethink is red snapper (not sure) but the flavors are so YUMM. Both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, authentic, and full of that comforting Yemeni spice. The Yemenis top lamb fahsa with hulba (or hilbah), a whipped, frothy green condiment made from soaked fenugreek seeds, garlic, and a spicy chili paste called sahawek. I tried mixing it with fahsa but didn't quite like it. Everything came together beautifully, especially with the traditional fahsa flavors. Definitely a meal I'd recommend if you're looking to try authentic Yemeni cuisine!

Sometimes you try a restaurant and it's a dud. So this was our dud…read more We wanted the Sheba platter for 2, but they were out of the lamb haneeth. So we went for the other items on that platter, which were the beef and chicken galabas. Beef quality was not good. Chewy. The Sheba six mix was alright. It reminded me of a meat frittata. The pepper sauces that came with the food tasted like it was literally just food processed peppers. As in it lacked seasoning and even just salt? Worst was the rashoush bread. We chose it because sounded like an upgrade from the regular flatbread, but it was shockingly unseasoned and dry, like eating a bready saltine cracker. For those 4 items +tip, it was $80 and not worth that pricepoint at all. The seasoning of everything overall was rather bland and uninteresting. We were trying something different, but it made us wish we went for Indian or Mediterranean food instead.
