If I could give a negative 5 then I would! Please DON'T bother to shop at this store in Tustin! Perhaps, online shopping and have them ship to you to save you from aggravation. The sales people seemed helpful and nice . Unfortunately, the management team such as the supervisor and especially the manager (Patricia) will need additional leadership training. I purchased my shoes online with a promo code . I opted to pick up the shoes at the store because it was available. Upon receipt , I noticed the shoes were used and even had a defect - i.e., terrible fraying near the eyelets because the glue was coming apart. I immediately asked for exchange . The guy who was helping wasn't going to honor the even exchange. He stated that I would need to reach out to online customer service to get a refund on the promo since he couldn't honor the online price. I asked to speak to the manager and he immediately identified himself as the "manager " . I proceeded to contact online customer service ,while I was on the phone all of a sudden I heard a woman said to me in a loud tone "Ma'am, I can help you over here". I told her that the manager couldn't help me , she replied in the same tone "I'm the manager " and told me the guy helped me earlier was a supervisor. I perceived her behavior was disrespectful to say the least and to think , I was cordial while speaking to her . After she completed the return, she literally threw the receipt on the counter and told me to sign it. She charged me the full price for the new pair of shoes and gave me the store credit for the difference. After I came home , I couldn't even locate the store credit/gc. I bought a 64$ pickle ball racket which I never opened and tried to return 3 weeks later. When I tried to return they said they didn't have a record/ my credit card on the system even though I paid with my card at the time. I showed them the digital bank transaction of the purchase but to no avail. They said I could return it but they will only give me 2$ back for it. Wtf? This place is horrible and it feels like I'm being scammed. I called customer service and they also said they didn't have my credit card on file. What kind of business is this? We always come to this store for our kids athletic needs. During 8/17 weekend, there was an AYSO 20% off coupon that the store manager (middle aged woman with glasses) who refused to honor the coupon and claimed she knew what promotions were valid because it was her store. I love coming to these big sporting goods stores. In Hawaii, we only had Sports Authority but after they closed all their shops - we were left with nothing. I love the variety of options for all the different sports. And the selection of clothing and apparel were awesome. They even have a whole section of outdoor items and a bunch of yeti coolers. I am not sure how their prices on MLB items compare to other places, but it seems about right. read more

The kids were starting just rustle as I pulled out of the parking lot to our nearest Heritage Park, tee in trunk, and never had to disturb a quiet mid-afternoon nap that us Dads cherish so much, and the kids needed. Excellent service !! I called the store after the website kept crashing when I went to pay for the items in my cart. Clay answered and was very helpful and kind. I arrived at the store within 25 minutes of my call. In person he was even more kind and courteous. I showed him my phone now it just wouldn't push through with payment and suddenly it went through. Tyler was very energetic and had our heavy items at the door waiting and loaded it in our vehicle. This item was over 90 pounds. I recently purchased a golf putter at Dicks. I used the Putter for 9 holes and reverted back to my old putter. Within a few days of purchasing the putter, I attempted to return it. They would not take it back. Under no circumstance should you purchase golf equipment from Dicks. The ability to try the item on the course is not an option. They do not tell you that. Trying golf equipment on a simulator or a putter on a very small putting area is not a good evaluation of that item. It needs to be tried on the course. Roger Dunn Golf allows you to try the item and return it within 90 days. Why would you buy equipment from Dicks? They have limited selection, not great pricing and no chance to try it out. You buy it is yours. I only purchased the item because I was waiting for my spouse and had a chance to try it on a very tiny putting surface. My mistake which I will never do again. I strongly recommend any consideration you have for making a purchase on golf equipment should be squashed. There are no advantages to buying equipment from them. read more

When I did ask for help the employee just pointed in a direction. I told her I can see your pointing but to what? The only person who showed any kindness was the employee cleaning the rest room. When all the Sports Authority and Sports Chalets closed, this became our only option for quality sporting goods. The Sports Authorty across the street was our go to, so it was especially painful when that closed. We always thought Dick's was too expensive by comparison and Big 5 just never competed in quality and variety. However, this is a pretty nice store with many options for shoes, golf accessories, and apparel. As more and more purchases are made online, I appreciate the physical location to go in and try on things and even just walk around. It's a nice open space and if you like something, you can even buy it and take it home with you that day! What a concept! read more

First off i never go to Dicks only reason I was there was because I was given a gift card. I wanted to buy a tent, I see online my local store has the one I want in stock. I go there to purchase it and dont see it on the self. I ask they guy behind the register if he can find it, he looks it up and tells me they do not have it. Seemed a bit strange that I just looked at it on line minutes ago and now it is not here. So i go back home and purchase the tent online. The website says it will notify me when the order is ready and I am certain that it will be days for the tent to arrive to my local store but to my surprise I get an email within a bout a half hour of purchase saying it is ready for pick up at the store I just left. So i call the store to see if the tent is really there and this is where their mistake became un-redeemable. I explain that I was just in here an hour ago and the employee just looked it up in front of me and said "we have no item in stock matching the one you are looking for" the customer service agent I am speaking with on the phone does not say sorry, or even acknowledge how inconvenient that is for me, instead he says "yeah I dont really trust that system" nothing about inconveniencing the customer now having to make multiple trips to a store that could have been avoided if they had a system they "trusted" a bit more, and the lack of accountability on the customer service agent was laughable. Like I said I have not been to a dicks in 20 years, I was just in there to spend a gift card I was given but my experience was not a good one. if this is how they run their company the lead dick or dicks in charge need to be concerned and may want to start prepping a resume. Online shopping is massacring retail store fronts and with Dicks operating at the standard I experienced, I can see why. Never again, dont waste your time. read more

DON'T BUY ANYTHING HERE! Horrible customer service and they don't sell anything that a REAL sporting goods store would sell. It's basically a shoe store. I can go to footlocker for that and not have to wait 20 minutes for help. They DON'T sell knives, ammo, guns, fishing gear, archery....The list of what they don't sell is too long to list. Their prices also suck $$$$. Buy online instead. It's not surprising that their sales have dropped by $150 million. Check the news. Pabelo is the guy who is in the bike section and who clearly not interested to be in there nor help explaining customers . When we went to buy a bike he just let my kid ride a mountain bike with out explaining any single thing . Rather just giving me a paperwork that they have explained about gears and others stuffs to sign and that's when I asked and he said he was going to explain and that's not true . He was very impatient and very rude and overworked .He kept complaining about how he has been working from morning 6:30 am and that's the only topic that he explained very well . "Respect my workspace " this is his exact words when we step in to see the bike sections he was trying to explain . Can you be anymore rude than this ? I asked for stand to be installed in and he said that's not fixable in that bike . There was some other stand very next to it and he did not even suggest that , I had to do find that online and then ask him then he said yes what the hell ! After I expressed my concern then they were giving eyes to other guy and fuss about why I am complaining - because you don't do your job well ; you don't do your job at all and you don't want to do that job . He spent 10 minutes digging through bins to find me 12 matching baseballs that were comparable to what I had ordered online and put them aside for me. When I arrived at the store the other associates already knew who I was. They got me my baseballs and got me on my way quickly. Top grade service! I find it so weird that there are 4-5 young guys always standing by baseball section, with nobody willing to help. They stand there and talk to each other, and when I say 'excuse me' and ask a question, they act like I am bothering them. One of them would give a very short answer- such as pointing finger as to where the item is, or short yes or no with no explanation. This happened about 4 times that I have been there last couple months, then that is a pattern. The guys look like high schoolers or young kids in early 20s and I am not sure who manages the store, but I felt the manager was NOT doing the right job if this happens so often. My husband went there to try on baseball pants last week, the dressing rooms were shut down with 'wet paint' sign on them. They told us to come back in couple hours. So we went back next day to find the sign again so we had to buy what looked to be the correct size, now I am having to go there again to make an exchange. Well, with such horrible experience at Dick's, it will not be an exchange, I am getting a refund to go elsewhere. Please train the employees to help customers with questions, instead of standing there chatting. We just ran in to grab some cleats and they have earned my loyalty for life. My sister and I were shopping for soccer cleats with my two toddlers, my son gave my sister the slip and took off around the corner. It's a big store, and finding him was going to be difficult. The staff saw what happened and immediately jumped into action, fanned out through the store and found him hiding in a clothing rack. I was already a satisfied customer walking out with the cleats, but the quick action of the employees was everything in that moment of panic.
