It is generally clean, bright, and well organized, with plenty of sections to wander through and browse. That said, nothing here is really cheap. There are a lot of interesting and useful products, but the prices are high enough that I constantly find myself hunting for clearance items. It would be very easy to blow through a one thousand dollar gift card in a single visit. Thankfully, the local 20 percent off coupons help make purchases feel more reasonable. The staff appears to be made up mostly of high school and college age employees, and that shows in the customer service. It is not bad, just very young and a bit unpolished. Most employees seem concentrated in the shoe section or working the front registers, with limited presence elsewhere on the floor. The running shoe selection for adults is a definite plus, with plenty of options to choose from. Overall, it is not a terrible experience, but it is not a great one either. I will continue to shop here because it is one of the few places that reliably carries sporting goods, but it is more of a necessity than a destination.

I know there is a REI in Arcadia but I rarely visit that area these days. A Friend recommended this location over the Arcadia one, as it is bigger and it was perfect because it happened to be on my route one day. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and was able to return my online order quickly. The cashier was very kind and the return was quick. I never used the product, the sizing was just way off, even though I had followed the product's website video guide. When I visited, it just so happened to be Member Days so I took a look around. This location certainly has "everything." It feels rare to have a fully stocked store these days. Since I did not need anything at the moment, I plan on stopping by again in a few months when I have an idea of what to use my gift cards on. There were employees throughout the store and they often greeted me and asked if I needed help. Great customer service! There was also restrooms for customers to use. There was plenty of parking in shopping center and overall, had a great first experience.

The cashier was super personable and talked to us like real people - not just another "next in line." It was such a refreshing experience. Yesterday, we went back to get our daughter's glove (Wilson A2000) broken in. We had originally taken it to Dick's (since Irvine is a bit of a drive for us), but her glove was still so stiff she could barely keep the ball in it. We decided to give Monkey Sports a try - and wow, what a difference! Her glove now feels just like her old, well-loved one. The gentleman who helped us was knowledgeable, kind, and clearly knew his stuff. I didn't catch his name (tall, young-looking, glasses), but he was awesome. We dropped off her glove and when we picked it up, tried it on and was not 100% sure about it, so he took the glove and worked on it some more (we didn't ask him to do this...he could tell my daughter wasn't completely confident in how it closed and offered - which further shows that they really do care about customer satisfaction). He worked on her glove until she was happy with how it felt and worked. I'm so bummed I didn't get his name....but we know that in the future, we're going to find him behind that glove counter the next time she needs a glove worked on! Super helpful staff, solid selection, a membership that isn't superfluous or prodigal, (in fact, it's beneficial), and a great phone customer service support. There might be a 5 - 15 wait when you come in to be connected one-on-one if you are trying on shoes, but once you do, the confidence you have walking out the door KNOWING you got the right pair for you is priceless and well worth the wait. Not to mention, all the running gear is less than half of what you would pay at Lulu or Vuori and just as good, if not better. They also sell Gels, vests, lights, glasses, insoles and other gear for running and and membership pricing makes it easy since its one of the few shops (Unlike On, for example) that allows you to return after a break in period.

They also have bins of old demo shoes and seconds for $45 per pair, so that is a great bargain if you can find what you need. They also have a small selection of diverse gear including cams and draws, so there is another option to pick up toys to fill in your rack. Finally, Yosemite Bum resole is there as well, and they can resole your worn climbing shoes with Evolv or Vibram rubber, no Stealth though.
