Came in ready to buy an echelon and some ammo. It's my go to place, remember? They always have good…read moredeals for ammo. Naturally, the guys at the counter were busy so I looked through the glass display to see if they have the echelon in stock. Sure enough, they have it. I then check their ammo selection so I can tell him exactly what I want. So I pull a number then hop in the ammo line. Shortly after, a lady comes up to the counter and waited a couple minutes. When she realized she needed to be in another line for ammo, she then goes behind me in line. Then when the clerk was ready to take the next person, he just assumes that the lady that was behind me was next or waited the longest. He says to her "you're next, I can help you". So I walked out. I'm not in the mood to try to advocate myself when I'm visibly next in line, and actively watched the lady walk up to the counter. There's other places such as Turner's and Ammo Bros wouldn't just assume and ignore someone standing in front of them. I understand the process itself takes a little bit of time, but skipping a person that's next in line is not what I'm willing to wait for, let alone be ignored. I'd rather go out of my way (Turners and Ammo Bros) if it means I at least get acknowledged that I'm there. Not coming back anytime soon.

Though there are other shops in the area that are closer to where I live, I never hesitate to go out of my way to come here. The people there are always welcoming, knowledgeable, and engaging. Through their various events, they've also created a community of collectors that I'm happy to be a part of. The other card shops in the area don't seem to engage with the community on the same level as Honey Hole. The prices are very reasonable and the selection of products and singles is always rich and dynamic. For better or for worse, I never fail to find something new I want to pick up. I also appreciate the fact that they have a partnership with a pre-grading/card cleaning company, Market2Mint. For someone that was new to grading cards, the ease of dropping cards off at the shop to be pre-graded really helped me get my collection to the next level. Special shoutout to Matt who leads the team there. My wife and I always enjoy spending extra time hanging out and talking to him and the team about the latest and greatest. The other two locations in Southern California (Escondido & San Diego) are also great and are definitely worth checking out. The lady who greeted me as I walked in asked what size I needed. The guy behind the counter came right out and had the box for me. Sweet! I almost forgot they honor the military with a discount when you show your valid I.D. That was nice, since this pair isn't cheap. I was in and out in minutes.
