I went to Dick's to purchase a bicycle and I received a 5 star service there! I did some research online and went to this location as they had bikes in the my frame size in stock. I asked for help at bike section and shoutout to Chris, he was so knowledgeable and helped me pick the right frame size and a helmet, and gave me some tips on biking in general. It's been a while since I owned a bike and I didn't know what to expect but my experience buying one here was fun thanks to him. read more

There were only a few cars in the parking lot so I thought I would get in and out in a short amount of time however, there were eight people in the checkout line when I arrived. I decided to continue shopping, even though there were no sales people around to ask questions of. When I finally got in line, there were only three people, but it took me 20 minutes to check out. I come to Dicks when I need a specialty sports item or a gift. They carry many high quality brands such as Patagonia, North Face, Nike, Yeti, and more. This store is huge, at least an acre and they carry shoes, hiking boots, golf, running, sports ware, camping supplies, team ware, hunting and much much more. I could spend hours in there. Over the holidays we found a Purdue shirt we wanted but they did not have the right size in stock. So the clerk up front ordered it for us and had it delivered to us at no cost. We had great service. They have a reward program and will send occasional coupons to entice you to buy. During the summer, they have great clearance sales and you can pick up great deals. In fact, there are always a few clearance racks in the store. The parking lot is large and the building is easily accessible. We'll keep coming back. read more

I only go here when I have to. I tend to prefer smaller running stores where the staff are more available to provide assistance. I always have a terrible time finding things, and also find the products available tend to be tilted toward brands that splash their logo across the front of the garment and then charge you extra for advertising for them. That said, they do typically have all sizes in stock, and garments are well organized on the racks. They also really don't carry much in the line of hiking and other outdoor gear beyond car camping supplies, and so I go elsewhere for that. If you are into golf and team sports you may like this chain better than I do. read more

Wow, I used to go to Dicks Sporting Goods in greenwood, Indiana a lot. However this last trip reminded me why I stopped coming. Three employees standing and talking when my wife asked for some help, and they told her to go over and push a button and someone would be here to help. The button was 14 feet away. She pushed it, and an employee showed up and was wonderful. So the others couldn't help? If they were on break don't stand on the main floor where customers may ask you questions. And don't ever just say to push button and someone will help, and don't sigh when a customer approaches you. read more

Meh. Like many other chain stores, stuff tends to be full list price- so only buy on sale. Advice from associates (golf and running shoe areas for me) was generally sketchy- basic to flat out wrong. If you know exactly what you need you can sometimes find sale bargains, otherwise there are better options. read more

I should have timed how long I stood in line. I got in line 1 of 2 with 7 other people already in line. When it was our turn, one of our items was missing a tag. We ended up declining that purchase because it was a grab while we were walking through and we were in a bit of a hurry. The cashier wasn't over friendly. When we were leaving, I turned to look and there were 15+ people in line. If you are going to have a sale, maybe staff accordingly. read more

I had to scan the shoe put my name in and wait for someone to bring me the show in my size. I sat for 20 mins and never got the shoe. As I watch two employees stand there and talk. I asked one about the shoe and they told me someone would bring it to me...... never got the shoe. read more

Dicks has anything a person could possibly need for any type of sport. We came in today looking for two specific items so it keep me from shopping the entire store. I'm always amazed at the selection they carry. Decent selection of swim suites today but in very limited sized with several athletic shoes on sale. Ammunition still non-existence. Nowhere on this ad 10/22/2018 is there a limit to how many boxes of gun clubs I can purchase. Only when I get to the store I find I can buy only 10 Boxes. It is written in very fine print on one display. But that "sales guy" certainly new it was there. He stated that they had to do this in order to keep some on the shelves for other people. I recently purchased a treadmill from Dick's Sporting Goods through this store and had it delivered during a 'free delivery promotion'. The treadmill arrived while I was away at work, the delivery men were to put the treadmill into my garage and then shut the door. When I returned home from work, the garage door was no longer functioning. I called the local store to see how to fix the problem and they put in a request to the national store that I receive a phone call about the process. It took five days, I called twice without response and they finally replied, telling me to get a repairman out to fix the door. The wire was off track and two of the guide wheels were on the floor. The repair man stated it was obviously bumped while the door was either being put up or put down. The door was fixed, I faxed the invoice to the rep I had been working with and expected a full refund. I called the fellow three times before getting an EMAIL response telling me that due to 'normal wear and tear' of the door, they are only going to offer me half of the repair cost. Customer service is clearly not a priority of Dick's and as a result they have lost me forever as a customer. read more

This is a great Dick's location. They usually have everything I want. The staff is very friendly and is quick to help customers. They have a great selection of clothes, but most are very expensive. I've also been very impressed with their selection of footwear. Dick's also offers great prices on ammo, but I've noticed that they have not carried several calibers I have needed. read more

It's a nice large building in a good location. I've been to this location a few times & the employees have been helpful but not hovering. I usually use this store as a comparison shopping location but have only bought one or two items (usually because there's a good sale going on or I REALLLY needed the item). They do have a large selection of sporting goods & accessories but sometimes having 150 styles of backpacks only makes it more difficult to choose an item (OK ... probably not THAT many but it sure seems like that). I'm sure if you don't find it elsewhere they'll have it here but you may not like the price you'll end up paying. read more

First let me be clear, this is definitely the last time me and anyone in my family will set foot in Dicks sporting goods hopefully friends as well as thus rant will also be posted on all of my social media...We have spent hundreds of dollars here over the years...I have a son who played Soccer in High School a daughter who cheered all 4 years of High School and another child who plays Volleyball and Softball so whenever we need anything sports related..shoes...knee pads head bands water bottles you name it that's where were going. Well today we stopped by because they had a great deal on tents and we browsed the store while we were there and noticed they had a sale on shoes. My Husband picked out a pair for our 6 year old son they had them in his size so we decided to get them...the employee gave us the shoes.. as we walked away with the shoes in the cart headed towards the front of the store someone who did not wait on us ran up to us and proceed to grab the shoes out of the cart and tell us she would have to walk them to the front of the store. Excuse me? I've never been more offended in my life..how dare you treat us as if we are going to take a funky pair of on sale tennis shoes for a 6 year old child. As many pairs of shoes we have purchased from here..we have never been told they would be carried to the front of the store for us. I'm truly disappointed..and totally disrespected. Normally you go in to big stores like these and you get made to feel like a number. Well yesterday I visited this Dicks to get some shoes and Amanda in the shoe department made me feel like I was special. She took the time to find my shoes at another store and had them hold them for me. She also took the time (while dealing with several customers) to explain return/exchange policies and it worked out in my favor. It service like this that gets lost in today commerce.
