Thanks to this Cabela's for being welcoming to the RVers who need a place to park for the night. I arrived after closing and departed before they opened so there was not an opportunity on this visit to do any shopping. Next time. The parking lot for RVers is quiet, level and welcoming. One night stay is allowed. [Review 1307 of 2024 - 184 in Indiana - 22330 overall]

Cabelas is for the serious outdoor enthusiast. Think hunting, guns, fishing, etc, Not sports equipment like Dicks. They do carry quality clothing for Men, Women and children. We went primarily to entertain a 4 year old on a very cold day. Kids will love the decor of all the animals and the live aquarium. There is a toy section but it's heavy on guns. Kudos to the staff who are very open to having kids around and were very friendly. Dogs are welcome too.

My first time shopping at Cabela's which is like Bass Pro where I have shopped a lot in Clarksville. They are both owned by the same corporation now. The stores are "lavish" in decor. See my photos/videos of the waterfall, aquarium tank with big fish, mountain lion in a tree and that is just a small sample. I saw a whole family a deer plus a whole family of turkeys displayed in habitats. Whatever outdoor experience you are shopping for, they have an extensive inventory providing you with many choices. I came to buy camping equipment for an upcoming trip next month. I had $300 worth of stuff in a full basket in no time. Some stuff I came to buy purposely, other stuff just because it was cool. I am a sucker for high tech adventure gear. Ever since I moved to Tucson in 2002 and began hiking every mountain trail they have, I've learned that expensive high tech gear can make your life so much more comfortable and fun when doing adventure sports. My drive time was a full hour from Mooresville. I wonder if the Indy metro area would support a second store in perhaps Avon or Greenwood. Noblesville is a bit of a trek for me to shop here regularly which I would love to do. I found the prices are not too high. The more expensive gear is more top of line. A Coleman 2 burner camp stove that takes the white gas for instance was $139, which is the exact same price as Walmart.

Expensive place to shop for all things sportsmansy. But, (unless you are put off by it) all the taxidermied animals in natural looking dioramas and giant tanks of fish can lead to hour(s) of fun for little kids. They can be costly though, so if you're a bargain shopper I'd stick to sales.

When I was looking for a good fishing kayak, I stopped by to check out their stock. Although I had to work with a couple of individuals, everyone was very helpful and accommodating as I considered my alternatives. Felt like they helped me evaluate cost-benefit and I ended up getting one here vs elsewhere. Pleased with my purchase and service.

What an experience! This isn't really *my* type of store I would frequent but it's worth it to just walk through (and pick up some fudge - the Hoosier fudge is unique to this store!). Expect: camo, ammo, fake animals, firearms, camping equipment, ATVs, fishing rods, tents, clothing...pretty much everything you may need related to the great outdoors. I enjoyed browsing their plethora of products. Stop by the fish tank/waterfall/nature scene in the back of the store - incredible when you realize this is in a retail store. On my visit, there was a visit from a hunting labrador retrievers group - I got to pet four labs and the owners took the time to tell us more about them and what they do. Very educational experience!

Great Local Fishing Advice (and the Friendliest Shop Cats!)"…read more Fishing is one of my favorite hobbies, and whenever I travel, I try to stop by local tackle shops. It's always the best way to learn about the area and find the real local fishing spots. Fishing the White River had been on my list for a while, and I finally had the chance to check it out. A local bait shop recommended Schwartz's Bait & Tackle for purchasing a fishing license and getting advice on where to fish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the shop's welcoming committee Skipper and Smokey Joe, two very friendly cats that the owner rescued. I later learned that Skipper recently needed surgery and the local community raised the funds in just a week. That kind of support says a lot about both the shop and the community around it. Mason and Jacob were fantastic. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about fishing. They took the time to talk about equipment, bait, tackle, and the ins and outs of the local fishing spots around the White River. It's the kind of place where you can walk in with questions and leave with real advice, not just gear. They also mentioned they'll be offering guided fishing trips this summer, which sounds like a great option for anyone wanting to learn the area or improve their fishing skills. The shop itself has a great selection of fishing gear, bait, and tackle, and the whole place has a laid-back, welcoming vibe. If you're planning to fish the White River, this is definitely a place worth stopping by. Support a great local business, get some solid fishing advice, and maybe say hello to Skipper and Smokey Joe while you're there. There's also ample free parking available on site.

Dropped off U-Haul, I've been back for bait and always have friendly faces and ready to help! Nice…read moreplace well rounded for what your fishing for!
