The training that the staff members have really translates to an enhanced customer service experience. I have taken many new shooters there and they build confidence and ability quickly. I highly recommend the classes not just for guys but for women and youth. Learning and practicing safe and presicion shooting methods should be paramount to anyone who owns a firearm and after visiting others, I think Parabellum really is exceptional in this area. TOP NOTCH INDOOR TRAINING! I normally shoot at Point Blank but made my way back to Parabellum last night because they were hosting a Carry Gun Practice night for $40. The CLASS WAS A BLAST. Not only was the course engaging & informative, it was a great time. No class room discussion, just range time with tons of practice from concealment. The course was only $40 & led by Aaron Bright of Bright Firearms Training. While the facilities are Spartan as noted in my previous review (converted distribution center), they turn this place into an amazing training ground perfect for cold evenings. This place is very clean, nice range with all of the safety equipment in place to have fun but not be uncomfortable. The lanes have electric motors for the reels on targets and they have lights in them that you can turn off if using different sights. We had 3 in my party and it was a great time! They have rental weapons like AR, AK, auto shotguns, silenced weapons and more! They have any type of ammunition you need, all of the accessories and a variety of weapons for sale. If you are looking for a good time and a stress reliever, this is the place to go in indy. I've been to a lot of ranges and this one by far is the nicest and professional. The staff will help you with any questions about any weapons you are interested in and are very knowledgeable with the accessories and sights they have to offer as well. It was my first time going to this gun range, or any gun range at that. So I didn't know what to expect or anything but my experience here was pretty good. My boyfriend paid for everything and we had our own guns and ammo so I'm sorry but I can't help with prices. I do know that the targets were $1 and I believe the ear protection was $2-$5 depending on which ones you got, so there's that lol. I felt comfortable there, there were no red flags that made me feel sketchy in any way. It was a wonderful time but I wish we could have stayed longer. One thing that was misleading was that the time we found on maps for closing said 9pm but when we got there they said it was 8pm. That was a total bummer but nothing that would keep me away from going there again. read more

Parabellum Firearms & Indoor Range opened May, 2013 and is located in Avon off Rockville Road just east of Dan Jones Road. First, a few things you need to know. You must have a valid driver licenses or ID to rent a lane. Your personal gun must be holstered, in a case or have a chamber flag. Eye protection and ear muffs are required which can be rented if you don't own. They currently offer 14 lanes, 25 yards in distance for pistols, rifles and shot guns up to certain power. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful explaining services they provide for all skill sets. You can rent or buy guns here if you don't have your own. I must say the past two visits the customer service wasn't as attentive as in the past but depends on who's behind the counter. Training classes are offered from beginner basic pistol to advanced classes. If you've never handled a gun consider classes or one-on-one training to avoid an accident or destroying their equipment. Check out the website for class details if interested. Know that if you accidentally destroy their property there is a fee. If you shoot the target rope, it will cost you $60. If you shoot a metal holder, cable, or trolley, it will cost you $100. Spend the $50 an hour for training if you're uncomfortable handling a firearm. Shooting Range prices are reasonable, the lanes are clean, well maintained and often an employee is within Shooting Lane area. One to three shooters are allowed per lane. Guns can be rented for as little as $10 or purchased here or bring your own holstered, in a case or with a chamber flag. Rates for 1/2 hr. for 1 shooter is $14, 2 shooters $17 and 3 shooters $20. They offer a lunch time discount from 11-2 Monday - Friday and 1/2 hour prices are 1 shooter - $8, 2 - $11, or 3 - $14. See photo of rate sheet for specifics. One of the best gun ranges I've ever been to! We stopped here on our way back from Louisville, as my buddies wanted their first gun range experience. Since I had already been here before and loved it, I knew they'd have a good time too. Upon arrival, staff is very friendly and will ask your preference on guns and ammo. If you don't know what you're doing, they will give you recommendations. After filling out a waiver, they will give you a quick demonstration on how to properly handle and load the firearm and you're all set to take your lane! For 3 people at half an hour with 100 ammo, it cost around $55. Dirt cheap in my opinion for an awesome experience, also much cheaper than any gun ranges in the Chicagoland area, where you would need a FOID card to even talk about using one of the gun ranges. Nice range. I brought my husband here so we could try out my new handgun. On a Sunday afternoon, there was about a 35 minute wait, which we passed outside in the sun. The young man who checked us in was courteous and made sure we had hearing and eye protection, and explained the range to us. It is $14 for a half hour ($3 additional for 2nd person) and $25 per hour. More than two people will require multiple lanes. We picked a "Rocket Man" Target (zombie Kim Jong Un) and proceeded to fire away. The lanes for the range are somewhat narrow, not much room for reloading or spare ammo, but well maintained. There are charges if you damage the equipment, but everything seemed in great working order. I am glad we had purchased our ammo in advance, because their prices are a little steep, and if you are planning to spend your wait time gun shopping, they have a small selection, but rent guns for a nominal fee (including the infamous AR-15!) We will definitely return in the future, we had a great time. read more

On to the reason for my poor review - called ahead to check how busy they were reserve a lane and was told they were not busy and to call back when I was 15-20 minutes or so away rather than 45 minutes away and they'd put me on the list... call back and am told by a different person they can't put me on the list but there is little to no wait... finally get there and am told there is over an hour wait, and get a confused shrug from the cashier when I explain the situation. The kicker is my father was going to buy a new firearm today along with accessories, and they just lost out on a $700+ sale due to incompetence, we are heading to Point Blank in Greenwood now instead. read more

This place is ok.. the range is great. The service is ok. My husband and I went to shoot his AR. We did not see the sign that stated it now needed to be in a case. I understand that is our fault. But the girl and guy, I don't know their names, didn't say anything about it when we came in and paid. But when we left she asked about the case. If you ask me, that's not just good. They, especially working at a gun range, should be more aware of their surroundings. Now my husband and I have been in at least a dozen times and we've always rented a gun. Usually a different one each time. And it never fails that the gun fails in one way or another. It's like they never clean them. Again, not good. We always say something and it never changes. It only takes us about 10 minutes to get here and while we will continue to use the range in the meantime, we will drive the extra distance once Beach Grove Firearms opens back up. read more

I love this place! I took the women's guided class first and I learned so much about guns and safety! I go there a few times a month and everyone there is very approachable and helpful! You can get good deals on target amp some times and if you shoot from 11-2 you get a discount and the lane is only 8$ for 30 min. Friendly staff was quick to greet me. Range was clean and well ventilated. Two large, FREE targets were given to me. They have plenty of firearms in all calibers for you to borrow at the range. AKs, ARs, Tavor, shotguns, revolvers, semi auto pistols. This was my first experience and I'll definitely be coming back here over Beech Grove. I pass beech grove to get to parabellum. The only downside of this range is being located on highway 36 where traffic is never good to me. read more

Something happened to this place since it opened a few years ago. Officious jerks are ruining the atmosphere. I came in with my loyalty card yesterday; it was my sixth, thus free, visit. Since I live in Martinsville, I don't drive all the way to Avon for less than an hour session. I always pay for an hour, so I was surprised when the bald headed smartass said I should have been out a half hour ago, like I was trying to steal something from him. Staff was very rude. I've been a life-long gun enthusiast and think highly of gun safety. They jumped all over my guest for not having his rifle in a case. I'll take partial blame for the issue because I didn't throughly read their vague-small sign at the front door, but they could've dealt with the issue more friendly. The last thing you want to do at the range is look incompetent-when you're not. If there's a rule that's SO important to you, then it should be blatantly obvious as you walk in or approach the entrance. I'll never return to this range and would recommend to anyone that does: make sure that you have your weapon encased or holstered unless you want to be harassed. read more

This is a great gun range close to me. The price is great as you can usually find some deals on groupon. They also rent a wide variety of guns and arent pushy or unfriendly. They let you go in, pay shoot at your own pace and noone really bothers you to buy stuff or anything. Don't visit this place, ever. Came in, wanted to get our first shooting experience, the front desk staff (blonde mid age female) refused to demonstrate how to use the guns we rented. Fine. Then after five minutes of shooting, the guy with glasses stopped us rudely cuz they think we don't know how to shoot. Excuse me? And also, the manager, some old farts with glasses, is some fucking condescending fools I've ever seen, he repeatedly asked us to leave and refused to issue ANY REFUND for us. TO IVAN J...You first mentioned it was your first shooting experience, and then acted insulted ("excuse me?") because you were acting unsafe and warned several times and clearly didn't have a clue. You made the statement about the employee refused to demonstrate how to use the guns, not accurate either. A public range is not the place to self teach yourself how to handle a firearm and that was after you stated that you knew what you were doing. Did you mention, that you tried to start a confrontation with an employee by laying your hand on him? No, you didn't. Nor did you mention the other 2 people with you do not speak English and the other customers may have felt threatened. You may have assumed by writing this bogus complaint that someone witnessing the whole thing wouldn't read it too. Make sure that when you write a public complaint that you mention a few facts and try to maturely avoid calling people out of their name. I visit this establishment frequently and know they strive to keep it safe by enforcing the posted rules. read more
