Had a transfer done. Went to pick up my gun. Stood and waited to be served, no problem. I am a patient person. Completed the documentation and the lady took my ID along with the paperwork and went to the back and was back there for quite sometime. Obvious that they don't get many minority customers. From reading a comment on this review they were probably checking to see if I had a criminal record. I have worked in prisons all my life, so I wasn't uncomfortable. Once I had gotten my gun and leaving. Someone in the store decided to remotely lock their car doors when I was in the parking lot as if I were going to break into someone's car. As I stated earlier in the comment I worked in prisons all my life (retired), in rural areas, so microaggressions are not new to me. Nor are the denials when confronted. Disclaimer: My review may seem negative but it really isn't. Now on with the show. I've been involved in firearms for the past 25 years being buying, working on, or just being around them. I am an avid pistol collector and I do like some very obscure firearms (at least they are to several people). I had heard of Beech Grove Firearms from a friend and went in and checked them out. It wasn't busy and no one pressured me at all. I looked and looked and they had a very large selection, they just didn't have a pistol that I wanted. I asked if they could order the pistol I was looking for and of course they could, so Input said pistol on layaway, which they offer for 60 days and 20 percent down. I paid it off within my 60 days but still no pistol... I get it, popular pistol, difficult to keep in.... it's a Cz 75 SP01 Tactical. So here it is I'm playing the waiting game. With all that being said let me express this clearly. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. The politeness and over all atmosphere of the store will keep me as a customer. Beech Grove Firearms is a fantastic place for all your firearm and shooting needs. The prices are great. I bought my 45. Springfield XD-M there for right over 600$ before tax, which was nearly 100$ cheaper than I could find anywhere else new. The staff was very knowledgeable and also had great insight on the best self defense rounds on the market. There was never a high pressure feel to any part of my buying experience. They also have a good selection of holsters and equipment to outfit yourself with. All in all, Beech Grove Firearms is the only gun store I will visit in Indy. The best gun shop and range in the Indianapolis area that I have found. The staff on hand is very pleasant and knowledgable. BGFA is also family owned and operated which is nice so I can support local business. The range is 20 lanes wide by 25 yards long. It is all electronically controlled. They keep it at a comfortable temp, so you can take you jacket off if it's cold outdoors. You can shoot pistol, shotgun & rifle there as well. I wanna say calibers you can use are are pistol and rifle calibers under .300WM and for shotgun the biggest is 10ga. You might wanna call to confirm that. The range prices are $10 for half hour or $15 for an hour. If you have an additional shooter I believe that person is half off. It's a nice facility and a great gun shot. read more

Nice little shop here. The best firing range available in South Indy, period. You feel safe and at ease when shopping/shooting here, and it doesn't look like the lanes are going to fall apart like it does in other locations. This became my go-to location for shooting when my wife and I lived locally. Store clerks and personnel could use a little personality, but some of them were nice enough. read more

First time ever doing a FFL Transfer from purchasing a firearm online and I chose Beech Grove Firearms to be the receiver of the firearm based on the good reviews, I had an EXCELLENT experience, they called me as soon as my firearm arrived at the store and told me that it was ready for pickup, the lady that was helping me even brought out another packet of paperwork that I had previously messed up on without a grunt. The new location is well appointed, and well staffed with helpful, knowledgeable sales and customer service staff. The range is absolutely first rate. 25 lanes. Indoor, climate controlled, outstanding air quality system, and motorized target retrieval system. The people at this business put other Indianapolis area retail outlets to shame. (I'm looking at you, Don's and Pop Guns.) BGF does sell ammunition for use on their range, and they do not gouge on prices. Due to recent panic buying, the selection leaves just a little to be desired, but that is not due to bad business practices at BGF. All firearms retailers, both brick/mortar and online are suffering from severe shortages of inventory. Even with the existing supply shortage, they do not impose excessive markups on their goods. Every firearm I've purchased here has been at or below suggested manufacturers market value. In short, this is the only indoor range in Indy that I'll ever patronize. They clearly understand the value of good customer service. read more

This Is a five star review based only on the range! I admit I've never bought anything from the store here so I can not comment on that aspect. But the range is really as good as an in door range can be. The whole thing is the best ventilated establishment I've shot in. Lanes are capable of taking hand gun, rifle and shotgun loads. After going to a few different ranges, I have to say that none top this. The ventilation is excellent and probably most important. Other indoor ranges get so bad that my sinuses are inflamed and black stuff is up my nose. The electronically controlled target system is awesome. They always have friendly staff ready to provide advice if you want it. They don't gouge on price for ammo. It is more expensive by a few bucks than a couple other places, but I think it is worth it. They are also starting a rental program, but I haven't taken advantage of that, yet. read more

While I have not bought any firearms from this shop I have done quite a few transfers through them. They are one of the cheapest shops to do transfers through ($25) and the staff is very very pleasant. They have a pretty nice selection of guns. I have not shot at their range as they are rebuilding it. I would recommend this shop to anyone who is in the area and is looking for a gun! read more

Went to shoot my gun for the first time. We called first to see if anyone was able to give us private lessons and they told us that they have a safety officer who would be able to work with us. Now we went on a Tuesday around noon and it was fairly slow. We talked to the safety officer and he took us back and guided me through the process. I was nervous and he understood that. After a few rounds with his guidance he said I was good to shoot on my own but if I had any concerns just leave my gun on the deck and come and get him. When I finished shooting I signed up for a class. The customer service was great and BGF will be my range of choice. read more

Went to this "firearms store" looking to sell a 1893 Colt SAA that has been rated by several antique firearms experts as a 80% valued at $8000 to $10000. When I walked in I went to the counter there was the rudest lady I have ever met in my life and ask "what do you want" I ask if they bought antique firearms. She said with a snotty attitude let me see what you got. So I opened the case and showed her a 120 year old Colt SAA and she acted as if is he had no idea what it was and snatched the case from my hand and said I am going to the back now anyway I'll take it with me. She went to show it to their "expert" to take a look and returned seconds later saying they were not interested. So if you have any firearm that is not newer than a 2000 model anything they won't have a clue what they are looking at. The only reason they get one star instead of zero is because this site won't let me rate them with zero stars. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Rude uneducated employees. read more
