Went to buy a $400 bat for my son. Sales associate told us to take it into the cage to try it out. We went into the cage to try it out and a second associate yelled at me for going into the cage without permission and without renting the cage. I told him to keep the bat. I'll buy it off justbats.com. They have better service anyways. I'll buy golf clubs somewhere other than dicks/golf galaxy as well. Being a massive corporation, they won't care how bad their employees are or how poorly customer are treated. Dicks is the worst. read more

Awful service! I went in with a coupon for free golf balls. They acted like never heard of it! I saw a sale sign for z star golf balls. Took them off the shelf and tried to buy them but was told they can't sell them yet!!! Mind you they are on the shelf and there is a big sign with price!!! There are other places to buy golf balls. This location refused to Honor there Corporate Price Match Guarantee. Said guarantee online and in there store states to bring an ad from their competitor & they would Honor it. They have a list of competitors, but the last lone reads, "any other local retailer". They denied to lower there price because they could not verify it on there store website, which is Not what there printed Price Match Guarantee states. I went the extra mile and brought the price up on my phone and the Assistant Manager, Jordon, who was the Opening Manager said "NO". Basically "my store, my policy". I have since filed a Complaint with the Indiana Attorney Generals Office for "false advertising". Listen folks, you can buy almost anything Dick's Sporting Goods sells online at Amazon, much cheaper and if you don't like it they take it back No Questions asked. I am DONE with spending money with a company who plays "bait & switch" with consumers. read more

Dick's always has amazing things that I want but never purchase because they are too far out of my price range. For this reason, my family treats Dick's as a place to browse and enjoy the free air conditioning. We run around the little race track they have on the floor near the athletic shoe section. We take turns punching the dummy in the boxing section. We bounce and throw the balls, sword fight with the pool noodles, etc. One could even say we come here to "dick" around (haha). I do like to come here to try on clothes, because they always have a large selection of athletic gear. read more

Dick's is sort of the Home Depot version of sporting goods. This location is a pretty decent size but you can find larger ones with more merchandise (Castleton for example). I have always thought they have a good selection of pretty much whatever you are looking for. Or...alternatively...one of what you need so you can go home and Google it later and find more selection. My son were on a hunt today for baseball gear and were only moderately impressed with what they had. There were a ton of bats but no real catcher's gear selection (save a couple). Again...maybe they have one of everything but not necessarily a great selection of certain items. I'm sure the corporate powers that be have it all figured out though...and I do like coming here to kick around. read more

During my last visit, I was unable to find anyone to help me until I'd wandered into every section looking for someone for about 10 minutes. When I did finally track down an employee, they seemed disinterested in helping me and pointed vaguely toward the back of the store to tell me where the item I was looking for might be. Once I got back there, I had questions, but there was no one to be found in any of the nearby aisles. When I went to check out, I stood in line for at least 10 minutes--and this was at 2:30 p.m. on a weekday, so not peak holiday/weekend shopping hours. I feel like the prices here are very inflated compared to other stores and what you can find online, but sometimes you procrastinate and end up having to visit an actual store. I don't know that I'll be back here again any time soon. read more

Every time I go into this establishment I am followed by a worker. I get very uncomfortable because I feel that I am being racially profiled. I am a black teenage girl who has been made very uncomfortable here. I really consider everyone do their shopping elsewhere. read more

I just had a very odd experience calling this location and speaking with Lynn who answered the phone. My son is a previous employee/ college kid who worked part time over the summer. He's currently filling out applications and couldn't recall the store supervisors name. I called and when Lynn answered the phone she asked me why I needed to know. Um, okay. I explained to her that my son was filling out applications. She said you can go to the website to fill out applications. I said it is not for your store. Could you please provide me with the supervisors name? She said well I don't know why you need to know. ?? I said, ma'am, are you refusing to tell me the supervisors name. She still insisted I didn't need to know. I simply told her I would just call home office and ask. Which I did and was immediately told plus now she's going to be turned over to the DM. Not sure why she behaved this way, but it was VERY odd. Home office was great about assisting us. read more

Just had a terrible experience there. I asked for a specific size boot a d was told I should try a different size. Guess she wanted me to try on what was right there rather than go look for MY size. It took me 10 minutes plus to find her to get that response. My times more valuable. Go elsewhere! read more

Went there after work today to look at weight benches, since mine broke last weekend. Looked at the two floor models they had for a few minutes. Looked around for any other options that may be boxed. Didn't find any. Notice an employee rummaging around some clothes racks in another section. Go back to the floor models to compare dimensions with the one I have. One doesn't have an adjustable seat, the other is bigger than what I have, which is already a tight fit. Head for the exit and notice said employee an aisle over, rummaging near the checkouts. Employee sees me walk past, in the direction of the exit, and, rather than ask if i need help with anything, eyeballs me like I'm trying to steal something. I'm a 35 year old professional on my way home from work on a Friday after a long week at the office. I can deal with unfriendly, but this was just insulting. read more

I don't know how this Dick's stays in business. I can never get a sales person to help me and I have been there several times. I have been trying to return something and it took two trips, I was quoted four prices, nobody could find or use my digital receipt which was supposedly my fault --except I finally found the email copy and I did use the scorecard and debit card so it totally wasn't my fault. Take the time to drive to the Castleton store and avoid this garbage. read more

Customers waiting in line while employees jack around is unacceptable. One lane open. Employees doing nothing. Customers, especially ones ready to give you money, should be number one priority. Obviously bad management. Making customers feel insignificant- way to go Dicks! read more

As you can see, I don't give out many one-star ratings, but Dick's Sporting Goods was especially disappointing today. I had the day off & went there with a friend to try out the new Taylormade M4 driver that has been advertised so much of late on The Golf Channel. It was almost impossible to get the attention of the guy who worked in the golf dept at Dick's. He was vacuuming in the middle of the day, ignored me a few times & seemed annoyed that I stopped him to ask for help. When we asked to try the driver, he did take us to the demo room and then just stood there watching, hemming & hawing, and acting very impatient that we wanted to take some swings. He couldn't answer any questions about the drivers & offered no advice nor suggestions. The guy made us seem like we were just in his way & taking up his precious time. It would have been much better if he would have just let us try the driver without him around at all if he was going to be glomming over us like an annoyance. I'll try the driver again at Golf Galaxy. Also, everything at Dick's always seems way overpriced. I'd rather shop at Dunham's or a specialty shop than patronize this Walmart of sporting goods place. read more

I called this store just to ask a simple question about whether or not they had something in stock, a lady in apparel said she would check, proceeded to put the phone down (not on hold) And continued to chat with another female coworker about clothing for the next THIRTY minutes. Purchased all of my sons baseball gear from here. Went to exchange his pants because I got the wrong color and because I didn't have a receipt they wouldn't let me. Even though it was an even exchange with all tags intact!! Same pants just different color! This will be the last time I buy anything from them!
