I was super excited to get my kayak, especially as a first time buyer. The associates upstairs were super helpful. But when I got to the register, the employee was extremely unhelpful. The girl downstairs at customer service needs an attitude adjustment. I went to her register with my $20 return because the gentleman told me I could get cash since I didn't have my husbands credit card. She started talking down to me saying I can't give you cash...I said fine I will come back but most stores can run the receipt and put back on the card. Low and behold that worked...duh!! She still tried talking down to me about cash. I never wanted the fricken cash. On top of beIng treated like a low life I can't believe I just spent over $400 before I took the one return I had downstairs. Needless to say they won't be getting my business again. This DICK'S sporting goods looks just like the others, however, I was NOT impressed by the customer service. We went there to get a new softball glove for my daughter, and we purchased the glove steaming service as well. We asked an employee about the glove steaming service and he said he would most likely be the one to do it. He told us to purchase the glove and the service for 15.00 and come back to that area and he would take care of us. So we get to the register and the cashier charges us for the service as requested but then tells us that the store does not recommend the glove steaming service. We asked her why and she basically said "I don't really know why but I just know the store doesn't recommend it". She calls on her microphone for someone to assist with the glove steaming service and conveniently it's broken. So we decided to call the Dick's Sporting Goods at Norterra and they pretty much helped us out and told us that they did the research online and this is what happens if we do the steamer it can possibly break down the leather little bit faster etc. etc. but they were very very helpful. We get to the Norterra location and they asked us what happened with the previous location. They automatically knew that it was Arrowhead without my having to say a word. Clearly this is a common theme for Arrowhead to say that their machine is "broken". The Norterra location had excellent customer service I was very impressed and they did not even charge us for the service because of what we had gone through at Arrowhead. My husband and I will not be going back to the Arrowhead location ever again I was not impressed by the customer service, I not impressed by the lack of knowledge or the lack of assistance. Arrowhead location you need to get it together and stop lying if your machine isn't broken don't tell people that it is because clearly other locations know that that information is not true. Not that you care but you definitely have lost a customer in me and I will tell everyone that I know not to go to this location. read more

Everyone here was so nice. The staff were simply amazing and helps me with everything I needed. Every time I come here there isn't an associate to be found. When I do find one, they either have earbuds in (seriously) or make themselves as scarce as possible. I came in today going for a better experience, but no. I wanted to try on shoes. I asked one girl what I needed to do to get some to try on, and she said to let her know what size, then promptly walked away never to be seen again. I finally got the attention of another associate, and he brought me one pair (I told him there were several I wanted to try) and I never saw him again either. After another five minutes of just standing there looking for anyone who works there, I gave up. Several other customers in the shoe department did the same thing and gave up. read more

Great Prices Dick's is a great sporting goods store with a large selection of merchandise. You can find everything you need for your entire family. Dicks has all the leading brands, like Nike, Under Armour and The North Face. I troll their clearance racks on every visit looking for good deals. We always go to Dick's for their huge selection on boxing apparel and equipment. The prices at Dick's are great and as a Rewards program member I just about save on every purchase. Not Bad Service Just No Service At All. Ok so here is my experience at this location. I entered the store at 830 pm. I walked the lower sales floor for 10 min. I BROWSED men's clothing for a bit. After a full loop though the lower level and not seeing a single sales person I thought to my self huh..MABYE There closed. Oh no there is someone fitting shoes while a second customer waits. Ok I came for Mark darts mabye they are upstairs?. Short ride up the steps and now I'm in fishing...Kayaking... still no sales staff... no wayfinding. Huh. Mabye they do not carry the product I am looking for. A man wearing red shoes and red shirt with a name badge asks me can I help you? Yep I reply I am hoping to buy a dart board and darts for my house do you carry them I ask? Yep...we don't have much but the stock is over there... he points and walks away. I found lots of inventory but did not know what to buy. I picked out somthing. Mind you I did not buy flights or tips or the board that I came in for....BECUSE. .. I did not know what to buy. After touring the gun section and golf section I thought to my self with a store this big they would need some help. Would they not Zone employees to help people like me? WEIRD right? . So I went to the counter to make my purchase. 5 workers in black shirts ready to cash me out. One a very nice girl who asked me some good but basic cash out Q and A. 4 employees doing nothing and the red shirt guy who helped me NOT AT All with his elbows on the table talking to the staff about...who cares what. That your manager I asked. YEP she replied. Huh I thought. I manage a 3 million dollar store and would have sold me a full set up. Brick and mortar will fall if we do not fix this customer experience. Just saying. GUESS I SHOULD SHOP ON AMAZON LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO DICKS. Service was seriously lacking. I had recently purchased an activity counter from Dick's and wanted to get my mom one for her birthday. I found the same exact one at REI for about $25 less, but since Dick's is closer and I am there more frequently, I'd rather shop there. When I called the store, they said they would price match. However, when I got to the store they said they would only match their own website. Huh? That's not exactly what I call price matching unless that means you mark up prices in store. Ever wonder where all that middle-of-the-road exercise equipment you find on Craigslist comes from? You know, the bench-press or elliptical machine with more dust than use? Purchased with the best of intentions in January and sold in August with a sigh of resignation and a larger pant size? See it new, today, at Dick's Sporting Goods. Kidding aside, I'm a Dick's fan for exercise clothing and some of the gear although they're primarily set up for even less than the weekend warrior. They carry most of the major labels, Nike, Under Armour, Reebok-all at standard pricing and discounted when Phil Knight gives the green light from Oregon. Great selection of running shoes for the weekend warrior but for those a little more serious about their running, I'd check out Sole Sports or Road Runner here in Phoenix. Pricing can be very good or very bad depending on what you're after. Ancillary items such as memory chips for a GoPro could run you three times what it costs on Amazon but nearly everything else is in line. The employees are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Of the big-box sporting goods stores, Dick's is my favorite although not my go-to for everything. Dick's is not my favorite sporting goods store. I hate to pay full retail for this stuff. Luckily (I guess) I'm in the store frequently and I often find things I want on clearance. I'm a sucker for a nice dri-fit T or polo under $15. Dick's has a standard selection comparable to most sporting goods chains. They have above average camping and golf departments at this location at Arrowhead Mall. The thing I most appreciate Dick's for is their support of youth sports. Every season they donate new equipment to our Little League and they provide us with a great location for registration. They have been awesome to work with! read more

Review for online pickup. Their process is not conducive to a quick order online, get notified it's ready, and pickup quickly. Expect to wait a good 15 mins at least for them to get your order. They have a check in kiosk, but you don't really know when someone started getting your order. read more

What an absolute s**t show this place is. Store is pretty clean, normal dicks stuff, but the workers are terrible. Absolutely no sense of urgency. They just stand around while 1 person tries to checkout a line that ever grows. That 1 person also takes their sweet time with checkout. Took 4 people to do a return, and then all 4 workers went elsewhere and didn't help with the line. Second time I've been here, second time they've had only huge bags and second time I set off the alarm after paying, which scared my kids. Clear your schedule if your going here. read more

Went to Norterra with cash in hand to buy a Kayak I knew I was going to have to order. After much deliberation, they decided they could not order it because it was not in the warehouse. Called Arrowhead where I have been before and talked to manager, Jim who had the same warehouse situation but then went out of his way to offer me a deal with accessories if I went ahead and ordered the deluxe model I wanted online, then come in for the other stuff. Good with me & ordered the Pelican Trailblazer Deluxe online. The next day, the lower version of the same kayak went on an awesome sale but missed it pending confirmation of the cancellation of my online order of the deluxe model. Went to Arrowhead about a week later, had great help, explained the situation (a lot of explaining..) and they not only remembered me but also cut me a great deal and left the store with the Kayak, paddle, pole holder, paddle holder (probably should have got a cup holder) and some other stuff. Very happy with the service I have received here on several occasions. If you need help, ask, these people seem to want to help and I am very happy with the deal they made me. Specifically Cashier "Sarah" and Manager "Ryan" are a joke. They are not trained nor do their jobs if they were trained! Second experience! I get E-Gift cards and hose two associates do not know how to provide positive, good service to say the least. My families first experience (a few weeks back) Sarah tried telling they didn't accept the e-gift cards. I know that's not true and even had to point out to her here it it states "in-store". She tried 4 times and said it wasn't a valid card. Not to annoy the customers behind us we proceeded with Debit. However we immediately went upstairs to the other register and I asked the teenager "do you know how to run an e-gift card"? He replied yes and processed all smoothly. He just had to call a manager over to do the refund on our debit. While the manager was there (was not Ryan that time) we explained the situation and he stated how he would explain all to Sarah, blah, blah. So tonight we have to return for equipment for my other daughter. Of course Sarah is there and I show her the E-gift card. She attempted and states "it's not valid". We immediately asked for a manager, explaining how we went through this before with her. She asked if she wanted us to have her try again and we said no as last time she tried 4x wasting our time. The manager tonight, Ryan came over, it went right through and I tried explaining the situation but the entire time he couldn't even acknowledge me, look at me or say a word. Beyond RUDE!! I was a manager for 20 years in retail and I never once - not acknowledge a customer speaking to me! She continued to comment she didn't remember the other time. I finally opened my mouth and said "it has nothing to do with you remembering last time, you're obviously not paying attention to what you're hitting and hitting the wrong buttons. The staff was great when I bought a $400 bat, than a week later it cracked. Tried to get a refund or replacement and they are not able to help me at all. They keep giving me the run around and apparently no one can assist me in the store. I need to call customer service. They are not seeing my purchase order in their system but I have the reciept and $400 bat that obviously wasnt worth $400. Instead of giving me the run around, TRY to help your customers! Never again will I go there and I will be telling everyone I know what crappy customer service I've recieved after the fact of me telling them thier bat cracked. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. Decent selection. The store seems well stocked with every type of sporting merchandise. After looking online we found a specific pair of Nikes to give a family member as a birthday gift. I asked the guy in the shoe sales department to find a pair in the correct size that had not been previously tried on or displayed, as the shoes have white soles. He came back out with the only pair in that size with one shoe having a very dirty, worn sole. We decided to take that pair of shoes to the checkout line figuring we would try to wipe down the sole of the shoe at home. When we got to the checkout register the attendant asked if we found everything OK and we explain to them our dilemma with the shoes we were purchasing having a dirty sole. He didn't care, didn't offer a discount, and rang us up for the full $100. We are not overly impressed. read more

Came here to get new running/all around shoes. I've been eyeing the new Nike React and decided to give them a try here. Service was great since I was pretty much trying on the 2 pairs I've asked for (same shoes, different size.) the employee came by checking in if I needed anything else every so often but since I wanted to decide on my own he pretty much let me be when I told him I'm doing alright. I eventually asked for his advice and I went for it. Purchased the sneakers and test ran in them for 1.5 mike run. I was quite pleased. I order a pair of shoes online to be delivered to my apartment . That was a terrible decision I have had to have the package shipped out three different times because it has not arrived at my home. I ordered the shoes originally over a month ago to be delivered by the 1st of September as a birthday present for my nephew but now here is going to be the 7th of September still no package. Customer service hotline was very polite and understanding of the situation but could give no reason why my package was not delivered the first two times. I went to the lengths of calling UPS and USPS on my own with my tracking number that was giving to me by Dick's Sporting Goods and was told that number was invalid and did not exist. When you order items online it's for convenience but this is as far from it as it possible could go. Without a doubt never ordering a package from here again! read more

Not impressed with their customer service! I ordered a bike. The bike has good reviews and I like the bike. I ordered it for curbside pickup. I received an email and a text message that the bike was ready to pickup. I got to the curbside pickup spot and checked in. Waited 20 minutes. Called and put in my pickup number/car numbered area again. Finally they called me and said it's not ready. Iv told them I had a text and email, and they said no we will call you when it's ready. So I asked when wii it be ready? He said maybe a half hour. We will call you. I told him that I can assemble it, and we can take it now. I bought a treadmill and they set up a delivery date two weeks after the purchase. The total cost was a little over $1,800 including warranty. On the date I was supposed to have it delivered nobody showed. At the end of the delivery window I called the store and was connected to a manager. She said she would email the delivery service. I kept calling her back and explained that I had set up an installation in 2 days and needed it delivered and asked her to please call the delivery service. She told me all she could do was email. The final call ended with her telling me that I wasn't going to receive it today and she couldn't guarantee when or if I would receive it. I called back again and talked to another associate and said I wanted a refund. He told me that I had to physically come into the store. I drove to the store where everyone was apparently aware of the situation. I did receive a refund and found out this was the third time this delivery service had bailed on a delivery. However there was no apology. I wouldn't by a tennis ball from this place. Their customer service is nonexistent. read more

I was in hurry so I was hoping to go in quickly find a pair and be out of there. The store wasn't too busy and there were 2 or 3 employees in the shoe department. I find two pair of shoes I'm interested in trying on and grab them so I can have a sales associate grab them from the back. Stood there a minute, I was ignored. Tried flagging two associates down as they walked by; ignored. It's like I was invisible. I didn't have time to wait so I left. I came back again today, this time with more time to spend. I found 3 pairs of shoes to try one grabbed them stood around again and waited. Ignored even when I tried to wave someone down. I went and sat on a bench and tried some of the new Reebok RunTone shoes that were on display since these were one of only 3 or maybe 4 styles total that had a whole size run of the shoes to try on. I sat there on the bench, open box of shoes on the floor, my shoes on the floor, new ones on my feet and 3 display shoes on the bench next to me. I was never even so much as acknowledged. One employee walked briskly by me. I said "Excuse me, can you..." and he walked right by me to greet someone else. The guy he had greeted had a single pair of shoes in his hand. I had actually looked at them before choosing the 3 I was interested in trying and they were $30 cheaper than anything I wanted. So whats the deal? I had showered, was dressed well, my clothes were clean, I didn't have an screaming children with me. I know I don't look like I'm there to buy shoes for my next marathon or anything, but regardless, I'm there to buy shoes. I am there with money to spend. I guess they don't call them Dicks for nothing? Went in looking to buy a pair of running shoes. A guy helped me try on a few pair. Claimed that I was "rolling in" and had me try on these more expensive shoes that would "correct" my roll in. None of them felt right, they all felt weird but he told me that was just because I needed to get use to them. There was a pair of shoes, non-correcting new balance shoes for $69.99. They felt great but he said they wouldn't be the right shoe for me. So I left and the next day I asked an actual doctor who said I wasn't rolling in at all and that in fact, I used a bit too much of my outside foot and that the last thing I needed was correcting for roll in. He couldn't believe that anyone would think I was rolling in. So I went back to Dicks to get the New Balance shoes that were $69.99 The girl at the register rings them up and bam, $79.99 I told her that just the day before they were $69.99 and that it wasn't even a sale. She calls back to the shoe department and says "There is a gentlemen that thinks this shoe is $69.00, I'm showing it at $79.99... Yes? Okay" so she looks at me "Yes sir, they are $79.99" I told her flat out their customer service sucked and walked out the door. Be careful with your money here, especially buying shoes where they are obviously just trying to upsale and either don't know or lie about what kind of shoe you need, they won't honor their word and even how the associates treat customers is very sub-par. I will never purchase another thing from this store again. Think twice before taking their advice and do your own research or go some where else. read more

Very friendly staff and ready to help with a smile. They have a better quantity of things on hand and the prices are a lot better than Sports Authority. Sad thing is that they are getting rid of the bowling section and will be closing it out. My hubby and I just started bowling together and for the price or rental of shoes it is better to buy your own and then to make sure they have your size of bowling ball is to get your own also. Will be shopping more at Dicks for our sports needs for bikes, camping, and weights. read more

We all know there are a lot of Dicks in the Valley, this one was the closest to us. She gave me a gift card for Christmas knowing I wanted a new putter, so we couldn't just go to Golfsmith. There was literally nobody in the store customers or associates. Couldn't find anybody that could tell me if the putter came with a head cover. This is my first review on yelp. I came to Dick's Sporting Goods to get new hiking shoes. I walked around for 10 minutes and waited to be helped. I finally go and find an associate to help me. He brings me a pair of Merrells. There associates are not very helpful. So then I want to try on a second pair of shoes. I go back to the same associate and ask to try on a different shoe. Ten minutes go by and nothing. I look over and he is helping someone else. Didn't bother coming to find me or anything. I ask another associate, and she says he is with another customer, except when I asked him for the second shoes he was by himself and doing nothing. WTF. Well that's cool. I'll go to sports chalet. Or sports authority, or amazon next time. Did I mention this is the second time I've had a horrible experience with the exact same associate in shoes. Awful. read more
