I came in to do a return. Kristen did not respond to me when I said hello. When I said hello several times, she continued to talk to her coworker then asked me for my phone number. I put my number in but apparently, she was ringing up my order as a brand new purchase. When I told her that I was returning an item, she responded that I never informed her that I had a returned. I responded by informing her that she never said hello to me and never asked what I needed. She argued back that she asked me how I was doing and that it was my fault that she rung up the purchase. I educated her on customer service and informed of better ways to act as a cashier. She processed my return finally. Because of this interaction, I wouldn't come back to location. If Kristen isn't able to remain professional and welcoming while working at the cash register, she should find a different position that doesn't require employee-to-customer interactions. read more

Was a little sad that they didn't have much of anything pink for breast cancer awareness. But was happy this go round and found the long pink socks, but was unable to find my size and had to settle for another brand and a regular size. I hate to start a review with negatives, so here is the good thing. This is a large (maybe too large) nationwide chain so perhaps all the stores cannot be painted with this same brush. Okay that's out of the way. This Dick's outlet has the worst customer service that I have seen in a long time. I am comparing that to other "big box" stores where you tend to have to fend for yourself as well. With the exception of the shoe area ( and that is grudging) I have never, never been approached by an employee offering to help. The Dick's personnel offer the same kind of benign neglect that most countries have in their Foreign Policy portfolio for Africa. I am talking about literal ignoring of customers. They will look right at you , walk right by you without a word. The people that work there must have been instructed NOT to approach customers. I am a black male. I at least expect to be watched and "approached" to determine if I am going to steal something. At this Dick's location you don't even get the satisfaction of being profiled. Even that would be better than being disregarded. I will not spend a penny at a Dick's anywhere and I suggest that this location review their policies or at the very least hire a kid who will buck the trend and say something to customers, even if its "I don't know you might have to go on the Internet and research that for yourself as I am an untrained hourly worker and could care less about the product line." Postscript... went there on Saturday afternoon to look for a bike for my lady friend. SHOE section only I have tried this store several times for shoes. Never have they had adequate staffing of employees willing to help. They might as well just put all boxes on show room floor. Why put them in the back if there is never anyone there who can or wants to get them. read more

Meh. The store is okay, but service is always slow. If you are in the shoe department or the golf department you will have to hit the button to have someone sent over. It usually takes several minutes for someone to wander over to assist. There is usually only one cashier working up front during the weekday, so you may be in line for quite a while. read more

Went around 10 am. The workers were practically non existent as I only seen 1 employee in the shoe section and the rest were cashiers. So I can't speak on the service. The store was very well stocked, organized, clean and neat. I recommend checking them out if you've got the dough for it. read more

What a good manager ! Today I got some fishing gear from the store , and I saw a map in the fish dept , a very simple map show where the fish ! Even the cashier scan the bar code ! It show for free ! Called for a 12 foot kayak. It was set aside (kayaks are going fast these days). When we arrived the team was expecting us. Helped us with the kayak features. Life jacket and paddle. Great service at checkout (Darius who took the call) and the manager and security guard offered help taking the kayak to the car. Excellent service!! read more

I have had great experiences at the Dick's Sporting Goods in Nottingham. I recently visited (while killing some time) and was wandering around the prop shop. The pro shop rep showed me where all the good clearance items were and I picked up a Taylor Made 3 wood for $39. The staff is always helpful and I continue to shop at their locations due to their wide selection and great sales. read more

I checked an item online and saw that this location had a "limited supply". I just called this location to question if they had the protective earmuffs for children or toddlers because my grandson was going to see Monster Trucks. I was put on hold...when the young lady answered she simply said "are you holding for earmuffs? We don't have any" I asked her if she could check other area stores for me. She put me on hold again. She came back and asked for the CPU number. I gave her the SKU number listed on the website. She told me that was the wrong number and she needed the CPU. I advised her that was the only number listed on the website. She then proceeded to tell me that what I have is an item number and she can't use it, but that I can go online and see who has the item with that number. ???? What???? I advised her that is how I saw that THEY HAVE A LIMITED SUPPLY. She hung up on me. I decided to go into the store and found that they did indeed have 6 toddler, several youth and even more adult earmuffs available. I proceeded to tell the manager "Melissa" about my encounter. Her reply: "ok, I know who you spoke to".. Really??? No apology... Needless to say, I decided NOT to spend my hard earned money here. Clearly Dick's doesn't need or want me as a customer. read more

Glad i didn't listen to the greeter at the door cus I asked him for something at first he said they didn't have because he never heard of it. I decided to look anyway.
