Get drunk, get Dick's. I grew up on this place and it's definitely a local favorite. Their fries are always a salty sopping greasy mess and I absolutely love it. The burgers are small and mushy but always fill you up perfectly. The line up to the window can be long, but you get your food within a minute of ordering. Not sure if Dick's lives up to market price now but it's an addiction that I have to feed every time I visit home.

Burger is unique to the area and has a distinctive taste. Fries are cut fresh everyday. The milk shakes are amazing. The service is second to none. One of the most consistent fast food joints I've been to. This particular location featured Sir Mix a Lot and crew back in the late 80s. It looks for the most part the same. Just walk up and order. They have places to stand and eat directly up front

Dick's Drive In is an absolute Seattle staple and one of my go to spots for a late night treat. You really cannot beat the prices, especially these days. The burgers are solid and consistent every time, simple, no frills, and exactly what you are craving after a long day or night. I especially love their greasy fresh cut fries. They are perfectly salty and hit that classic drive in vibe. This time I also tried a huckleberry ice cream cone and it was delicious, sweet, a little tangy, and a great finish to the meal. Just do not forget, it is 5 cents for ketchup! Very on brand and honestly part of the charm. It is not gourmet, but that is not the point. It is affordable, nostalgic, and reliably satisfying. Definitely a Seattle classic for a reason.

Dicks Drive In is always a good spot to grab a quick bite to eat. I always order a Cheeseburger and Fries, along with the Tartar Sauce. The Customer Service is Good. You can eat outside, there isn't any seating inside or out but there is a Table Top you can stand and eat at. I always eat in my car. Parking is OK, I mean I always find parking up front, Diners come and go so fast. They are having a Halloween special if your child is 13 and younger of you Trick or Treat in costume you get a Free Cheeseburger.

Cheap, dependable, and a staple of Seattle. Never been during the wee hours of the night, but both times I visited this during off-peak hours were quite empty. Friendly staff and security posted up. Cap Hill location definitely gets rowdier during weekend nights. Don't expect the world's greatest burger, but do expect to get your cheap and greasy meal itch scratched.

Stuck at a hotel with no access to food, I reacquainted myself with DoorDash, and found this option 0.7 miles from Virginia Mason. I loved Dick's Drive-In as a kid, but as an adult, the burgers are just average. I had a strawberry milkshake, and my mom had a chocolate milkshake. We both thought they were just kind of average. The fries, however, were spectacular! I can see why there's a limit of 15 orders of fries per DoorDash order. Fifteen seems excessive, until you taste them. I wanted a Special with cheese, but that wasn't an option, so I got a Special and a cheeseburger. I also got onion cups and ketchup and tartar sauce cups. The tartar sauce is weird. It's kind of blah. I definitely recommend the onion cups, though.

Place looked busy, so we decided to try. Saddest looking and tasting burger I've ever had. Fries were soggy.

If you're looking for that old school, simple, straightforward burger joint, check out Dick's. I was told this place was popular but didn't realize how much until I saw the line to place your order. Long line but moved pretty quick. Burgers, fries, shakes. Keep it simple. The burgers are a bit smaller but the flavor is great! Can easily eat more than a few. I was visiting family and they wanted me to check this place out. To quote them, "let's go grab a bag of Dick's".

I'm a bit disappointed by this historic burger chain... I mean it's super fast and convenient but absolutely underwhelming in terms of taste and presentation. I had a Dick's Deluxe and I was immediately given one that was ready, Mc Donald's style. I was not expecting it, I thought they'd make it to order. The patties were very small and the overall look was really sad. And no bacon wtf! Ultimately the taste was ok, but boy was it an underwhelming experience... I guess it's my fault, I had different expectations. I was thinking something like Burgermaster. To be fair though, it's dirt cheap, so maybe I have to recalibrate my assessment.

A solid, cheap little burger chain that's serving up STELLAR shakes (seriously the vanilla shake is heavenly), good little burgers, and homemade fries. There is nothing fancy about Dicks. But it doesn't claim to be. They do a few things really well done. And do it quickly. There's a ton of people here getting food for a reason. Cheap eats done well. I'm glad my Seattle local friend said we had to stop by!

What is it that makes this place iconic? I have had better tasting food elsewhere. There was nothing good or even remotely iconic about this place. If you are standing by these undercooked limp oily fries and the tartar sauce burger then you're clearly doing something special to market yourself as iconic. I cannot believe people stood in long lines waiting for this mess of a meal.

A Seattle classic. I lived behind this location for close to a decade. I've easily eaten thousands of their burgers and I would eat a thousand more. They are the perfect ratio of meat to bun and well priced. They also treat their employees extremely well with competitive pay and benefits including tuition. This is the type of local business people should be supporting.

My hot take is that Dick's is better than In-N-Out. This Dick's is a prime location for a late night snack after a night of drinking or clubbing. If you're coming here, you know what you're getting yourself into. The place is a bit sketchy but the food is still good and the service is fast.

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

He said, "No, you got the sandwich." I said, "Okay... so did you make the sandwich I ordered or not?" He said yes. I open it up and it's literally two chicken fingers, fries, and honey mustard. No Philly cheesesteak. So I asked, "If you didn't have Philly cheesesteak, why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it?" He said, "I don't know, I can put it on the side if you'd like." I said, "I thought you didn't have any Philly cheesesteak?" He walked away, came back with a side of Philly cheesesteak, and told me to put it on the sandwich myself. For $19, I shouldn't have to assemble my own sandwich -- especially after being told you didn't even have the main ingredient. Just be upfront with customers.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

I didn't find the pours I got to be particularly memorable. I had a Circuit breaker which was probably the best. Pomegranate sour was passable as was the Citra streaker, but none of them slapped. The place was swamped with people and while I understand the setting. for the number of staff running around here, the place was dirty. I'd think they'd have a couple of the servers come thought and sweep up and clean the tables. So my impressions of Old Stove is that it's a huge restaurant/brewery that tourists can come to as it's close to Pike Place and the pier, but as a result is slammed so bad that it looks a bit worse for the wear, or at least it was on my visit on a weekday evening.

I didn't expect much out of these, but they were surprisingly good. The rice is cooked perfectly, sticky and tender, yet each grain is distinctive and almost bouncy, giving great mouthfeel. The musubi seems to be dipped in a small amount of soy sauce, although not enough to cover the entire rice surface. The additional sodium isn't really needed in the first place due to the salty and meaty kick the spam on top gives the handheld snack. It's a classic combination for a good reason! (4/5) For the Food Walk special, they only give a small scoop of mac salad. I'm sure the normal side portion for $5.94 is much larger. The salad is unspectacular but solid. It's a little sweet, a bit peppery, and certainly very creamy. There's a bit of julienned carrot included that isn't particularly crunchy, being soaked in the mayo sauce. The macaroni itself isn't mushy or overcooked, so it still has some texture. (4/5) I don't usually expect much out of food court restaurants, but Aloha Plates definitely surprised me with their quality. It seems like a solid option for Hawaiian.

Perhaps the Lao Burger served there wasn't as juicy and succulent, with perfectly crisp smashed patties as I recalled? Or perhaps Taurus Ox just serves a completely inferior version. I revisited for a Friday late dinner to reach the bottom of things. This was at around 8PM and the place was surprisingly busy, with a fully running kitchen and almost all seats taken. It's a pretty small restaurant to begin with, but since the food comes fast, people don't typically stay too long. By the time our food arrived, a table had cleared up for us. Lao Burger ($18) - This Lao Burger is just as good as my first visit. Absolutely perfectly fried smash patties, completely with lacy, crispy edges that provide texture and an intense caramelized meaty flavor. I've already described the burger in detail in my previous review - what I can say on this visit is that the burger is basically identical, indicating that Ox Burger is consistent with cook and construction. The burger as a whole has the perfect moisture level with plenty of unique funky, umami-full flavors that make each bite a delight. As with my previous review, two things come to mind that detract just a tiny bit from my full enjoyment. Firstly, the burger as a whole is a bit salty for my tastes, necessitating several trips to refill my cup of water Secondly, the piece of sliced pork belly included is kind of vestigial. It seems to be only there to add additional salt, because neither the flavor nor texture are very apparent while eating. (5/5) Deluxe ($15) - This burger is somehow way messier than the Lao to eat. Upon lifting it up, a mess of watery mustard/mayo mix drips onto the plate. I think it might be from the extra moisture in the tomatoes and lettuce. And yet, somehow the bun isn't soggy at all. This burger is otherwise excellent, combing the same picture perfect smash patties as in the Lao, with the classic fixings - American cheese, bacon, pickles, and plenty of veggie mix. (5/5) I'm glad I gave the Lao Burger another chance. It's now one of my favorite burgers in the city. I'll definitely be coming back to Ox Burger for more. The food was great for all adults involved. Portions of fries are generous and delicious, and come with fancy sauces (none of which appealed to me, but were appreciated by my family). The burgers are really inventive, so we all wanted to try the Lao. It's delicious. I did balk at $18 for just the burger, which is a smash patty (less beef) and I took the cheese, Mayo, and cilantro off. Eighteen dollars! No side, no drink.
