After running into a concrete post in a parking garage and ending up with a deep 10 inch dent in my fender, I went looking for an auto body shop in the DC area. We live in NOMA, so Dick's was close by and had good reviews on Yelp.
As far as I can tell, it's a one man shop run by a nice guy named Yoon. It's not a fancy operation, the office looks like it hasn't been cleaned up since the 80's! From looking at a photo on the office wall of him repairing a car, he's been doing auto body work for a while. He checked out the damage and looked up the parts he'd need in a big phone-book-size reference book. His quote would have been similar to another quote I got, but then he suggested he could repair the fender instead of replacing it. Made sense to me, and it would save me 300 bucks on the repair, so I agreed.
Three days later, he gave me a call and the repair was ready when he said it would be. I was concerned about paint matching, but he did a fantastic job and the work looked like new. The price was as quoted, and as the other reviews mention, he accepts cash or personal check.
