When my car got keyed at the Costco parking lot last weekend I was devastated. So I started looking for a place that could fix it and came across Fine Line Auto. I went there after getting a quote at another place and being told that it was a serious issue, would require taking the doors off the hinges and having the car stuck at the shop for 2-3 days (and a bill of 'about $1000). Fineline was incredible and told me that the scratches could be fixed with touch-up paint, and even offered to help me do it. I got the paint at the dealership which also, after seeing the scratch, agreed that there was no need to repaint the whole thing. Fineline helped me to cover up the scratches and I am so, so grateful. I will definitely return there if I ever need their services and I am so glad that are decent human beings still out there in this area. read more

I thought I had found my go-to place for body work for my older model Subaru Outback. Took it in for a leak and the owner took his time showing me how they could address both the leak and various other dings and body work that my car needed fixed. For a very reasonable price they cleaned out the sunroof drain tubes, and cleaned all the debris from the windshield wiper area. All good. But when I got the car back and the leak persisted, the attitude changed dramatically. The person who happened to be on duty when I brought it back argued with me and told me I only thought it was leaking since now that it was sunny again the wet spot was gone. Then came the back and forth about when they could take the car in to even look at it. Not before opening, though I was willing to leave it with the keys and take an Uber to work. Only at a time mid-morning when the right person would be there--a time right in the middle of my work day. They have a very small parking lot and told me I couldn't drop the car off and leave it there. All in all it was a very unpleasant interaction. So I called the owner who had so nicely explained repairs to me before, and told him what the other guy had said to me. He asked me 'why would you bring it in to see So and so, you need to talk to me about it!' I mean, how would I know that, and why should I *have to* know that?? He stressed that the car needed to be brought in when it was dry so they could control the leak test, while the other guy acted like I was an idiot for bringing it in when it was dry. I finally gave up on them and stopped trying to work around their schedule and poor service attitude. It's a shame because I wanted to give them ongoing business as well as recommendations. read more

My well-maintained 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 needed the rear bumper repainted along with some touch ups and scratch removal. This place was a great find (although, hard to locate, haha)! They were able to estimate the repair of my fender after the front tire axle snapped for $600 less than Pohanka Collision. Also, because I gave enough notice when making my appointment, they were able to obtain all of the necessary parts in order to make the repairs in record time! Originally they said it would be 2-4 days so I had to rent a car. I took the car in Monday morning and he was done with it by lunchtime on Tuesday! So not only was it a more affordable repair job, I had to pay less for the car rental too! I feel confident that I received the best service and guarantees from Fine Line Auto Body. My only "complaint" would be that it was really tough to find it off of Shirlington Road; I drove past it about 4 times. This is a quality body shop - trustworthy, skilled, and professional. They repaired my Infiniti so perfectly that it's impossible to tell there was ever any damage. When I brought my car in for the estimate the owner discovered that I had a bubble in one of my tires and told me it needed to be replaced right away. He told me that if I had trouble finding the tire he had a source who could deliver the tire to him and he would install it - but he was not pushy about it or trying to get me to buy the tire through him. This is an extraordinary autobody shop. My car door suffered minor damage in an accident. Another body shop advised that the entire door needed to be replaced. I brought the car to Fine Line and they were incredible. They did such a good job fixing the existing door -- to include repainting it -- that you can't even tell it was in an accident.
